Spencer was outside jogging when he saw Teddy slumped down in the bench tears filling her eyes. He ran over to her.
"Teddy," he asked, "Are you okay?"
"Do I look okay," she asked, "It's been a month from HELL emphasis on the HELL part of it."
He took no offense from her tone. Instead he sat down next to her pulled her into his arms and rubbed her back until she calmed down.
"Would you tell me what's wrong," he asked gently.
"Well sure," she said with his arm still around her shoulder, "The end of last month my friend died of cancer. You know all about that. Two weeks later I find out that my job is terminated due to budget cuts. Then my friend Ian decides he doesn't want to be my friend anymore. Why? Because I'm not interested in a romance with him. I HAVE A BOYFRIEND."
"Well I would hope so," Spencer said an impish grin on his face.
"You also know about what happened with Ivy. I didn't do what she thinks I did and every time it happens I feel like I'm going to scream. By the way maybe you could do that thing you did last time that makes me feel better."
"Come on," Spencer said, "How is that even a maybe? Of course I'm going to do that thing. I always will."
"Anyway my mom is suffering from severe depression and insomnia and she's being a b with an itch to everyone including Charlie. She's starting her problems again too. It's like a never ending battle."
"Wow that does sound rough," Spencer said, "But don't worry. I got it covered."
"Thanks Spencer," Teddy said, "I'm sorry to be putting all this on you."
"Teddy you aren't "putting" anything "on me". I love you. You are everything to me. I will always be there for you no matter what. Yes right now you feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders. It's my place and my pleasure to carry that weight."
