Chapter 1: Myst

The first time she'd wanted to scream out that she loved the shy Imperial soldier, she'd held back out of her respect for Kalas and the thought that he'd probably sound mighty strange saying 'I love you Lyude' amidst the damage that the guardian for the second End Magnus was causing. She always held back because of Kalas.

Was it true love? Did the Imperial soldier return her feelings or… "Cool it, Myst." Kalas muttered to her. She'd forgotten that even though they shared the same body, Kalas was largely in charge.

'Not my fault that he's cute' She snapped.

"Remember that I "see" your thoughts, Myst. You were dangerously approaching a mature subject." Her Spiriter replied. "Besides, what if he heard you? If he felt the same way, he'd have to confess them to me. Honestly, I don't want to hear no mushy stuff about how he wants to live with you and have a dozen children."

'You're sick, Kalas…' If Myst had a physical body, she would have rolled her eyes at Kalas's comment. 'That was so bad, I'd throw up if I had a chance and a physical body' She felt Kalas chuckle at the comment.

"Yeah, yeah. So everyone tells me. You tell me every chance you get, Myst." Lyude had come into the room with a bunch of wrapped packages and a grin on his face. "Looks like Prince Charming is in the room. Want me to tell him my Guardian Spirit has been sweet on him since the moment she met him in Nashira?" Myst felt sick. That was the lowest dig that Kalas could ever use with her.

'You tell him and I will tell Xelha you dream about her, going into so much detail that your head will spin, Kalas' She threatened. 'Not all of it is a lie, you know' Kalas groaned as Lyude looked at him. Myst knew that the former ambassador was probably thinking that Kalas was having some trouble with her.

"You're right, he is hot from a girl's point of view but your taste of men is very poor." Kalas heard the screeching and inwardly smiled at that but he had forgotten that the others could hear her, especially Lyude.

"Apologize right now, Kalas." Lyude gritted through his teeth. "Whatever you said, Myst did not deserve that."

"I'm not apologizing, Lyude. You didn't hear half of what she said anyway." Lyude rolled his eyes at Kalas' remark.

"Forget what he said. I'm sure whoever you were thinking about is quite flattered." Lyude blushed and then left the room as if he knew who she'd been thinking about earlier.

'Well that's that' Myst thought as they got on with celebrating Christmas. 'Lyude doesn't return my feelings' Unbeknownst to her, he did and he was trying to avoid any awkward scenes in case she didn't return his.
