Broken Doll

This is a short oneshot about the 'Frozen Butterfly' ending for Project Zero 2: Wii Edition.

'Let us be together. Together forever. We will stay here.' Mio closed her eyes, feeling Mayu's soft hands wrapping around her neck. It didn't matter what would happen next, she was with her sister.

'Just the two of us.'

Her eyes creaked open slightly as the hold tightened. She felt lightheaded, watching her sister seal their bond. She felt happy. Her pulse slowed. Is this what dying was like?

Silence. The Great Hall was filled with it. A crimson butterfly weakly fluttered onto Mio's shoulder, her head rested in Mayu's lap. She sat stroking her sister's soft, silky hair. She was so… beautiful.

The butterfly took off from where it rested and flew off into the night to join the others.

There was silence once more. Beautiful, wonderful silence.

'Together… forever…'

A paintbrush brushed against Mio's lips. A tear was sliding down her cheek.
