Hi. My name is Jake.

We won. But at what cost? My brother was killed, and so was my cousin. Cassie says I should be happy with what I accomplished, but really? I'm more depressed then ever. Hundreds of people dead because of me. Not just Rachel and Tom. Thousands of Hork-Bajir too.

I am happy with what we accomplished. We took back Earth that was under invasion from an alien race called the Yeerks. Who were the Yeerks, you ask? A small, slug-like species of parasitic alien that drove itself into your brain and controlled you. I was a controller once. I still have nightmares about it.

Two weeks ago, I learnt Ax, a close friend of mine and one of the only free remaining Andalites in our solar system, requested my help. Ax's full name is Aximilli-Esgaroth-Isthill. I was on my way in a small Andalite craft, going twice the speed of light. Marco was there, as well as Cassie and Tobias, who was looking out of the windows from his perch as the Rachel sped through space.

Any idea of where we're going? asked Tobias.

"No, not really. Just hang tight." I answered.

I've been hanging tight for almost 10 days. I need to stretch my wings, man. It's too cramped in this cockpit.

"Just fly around, Tobias. It's not that hard." sighed Marco.

Marco was the more mature between us. We've all suffered losses at the hands of the Yeerks. But what we were about to learn, is that things aren't always what they seemed.
