Mick left Frank alone, he was standing there with a smug grin creeping onto his lips. Mick didn't like that guy, he didn't like him at all. There was something about him he didn't like, there was something about him that made him wonder, worry almost.
The grin covered Frank's face, who said lying didn't have it's good points. Frank felt totally satisfied inside, Mick's face... he wish he'd had a camera. He could see Mick really tried to not look bothered about his revelation, but he could tell he was, totally and utterly bothered. Mick went quiet, tried to laugh it off almost slightly... Frank grin widened... sucker...
Mick sat in his office, staring at the walls in front of him. They were decorated in various photograph of the watch over the years, cabinets were covered in files on various different topics, along with a mirror and a clock, which was ticking loudly... tick... tick... tick... The door opened to Mick's office, he jumped slightly, looking over to the door.
"Oh, sorry 'Guv," Charlie apologised, "The lads were wondering if you want to come across the road for a drink."
Mick smiled meekly, "Thanks for the offer," He began, "But I think I'll jst go straight home."
Charlie left, leaving Mick alone again with his thoughts. The time seemed to pass rapidly, Mick sat, not moving an inch and the others were across the road in the Oliver Twist.
"Your round isn't it Frank?" Adam asked.
Frank looked at him like he was speaking a foreign language, "Nah mate, I'm off out, business to attend to an' all that."
"Anything you want a hand with?" Adam asked.
"Like I said, I've got business to attend with," Frank murmured, putting emphasis on the word 'I've'.
Adam nodded slowly, eyeing him suspiciously, before turning back to the rest of the watch, "Your round isn't it Craig?"
Craig looked at Adam, then the rest, he considered arguing, arguing about it supposedly being Frank's round but gave up, "Pint all round then it is?"
Adam approached Sally who was sitting alone in the corner of a room, "What you said about Frank being dogdy..."
Sally looked up at him, prompting him to carry on.
Adam nodded, sitting down closely to Sally, "I think he is..."
Mick's thoughts were on overload now, and now he was sick of them. He stood up, leaving his office, letting the door slam shut by itself. He wandered out of the station through the appliance bay and across the road towards the pub.
"Why can't you tell me?" Sally questioned.
"I just can't Sally, trust me ok? I can't... just believe me... something is going on..."
"Pints everyone," Craig announced as they all stood up to approach the bar as Mick entered through the doors, catching the eyes of Sally. He gestured for her to approach him and she slowly did, "What about your drink Sally?" Craig called over to her.
"You have it," She called out as she followed Mick out of the pub.
"Your guy Adam's been doing a good job," Jimmy complimented Frank.
Frank nodded slowly, "I must 'ave a knack of picking good bloke's..."
"Sure he's not suspicious, he's not been asking any questions has he?" Jimmy asked.
"None that I can't handle," Frank explained simply, as Jimmy eyed him suspiciously, Frank sighed loudly, "He's not suspicious," He said, with emphasis on the 'not', "If he was, I'd put 'im in his place..."
"Couldn't you have talked to me in brigade hours?" Sally asked, as she sat opposite Mick in his office, "I have a pint waiting for me across the road."
"Is it true?" Mick asked, looking her in the eyes.
Sally felt a lump in her throat, "Is what true?" She asked, acting like she didn't have a clue what he was asking.
"Don't act like you don't know what I'm going on about!" Mick yelled, taking Sally by surprise, "You and Frank, he told me..."
Sally went silent, "It... it was a mistake... a... a one night stand..." She stammered.
"He says you and him..." Mick paused, "He said you slept him a few times."
Sally stared at Mick, "He's lying," She murmured weakly.
"Really?" Mick questioned.
"Yes!" Sally yelled, "And if I did, it has nothing to do with you."
"It has everything to do with me!" Mick yelled, "I could report you both."
"Then why don't you?" Sally murmured, questioningly.
Mick couldn't answer, he couldn't open his mouth.
Sally shook her head, standing up quickly and wobbled slightly, before storming out of his office, making the walls shake.
"We thought you went off home," Adam said to Sally as she approached him, picking up her pint and downing it nearly in one, "Who's round is it now then?" She asked.
"I was actually off home now Sal, meeting Frank in a couple of minutes," Adam told her.
Bloody Frank, always fitted into every equation. "I thought you said..." Sally began, pausing.
Adam knew what she meant, "I'm working on finding out..." He whispered.
"Anyone else staying?" Sally asked.
"Sorry Sal," George apologised, "I promised Andie I wouldn't be late..."
"I've got to get up for deliveries tomorrow," Charlie told her.
Craig shrugged slightly, he was obviously off home too.
Mick stayed put in his office, during all the times lately when he was fuming with annoyance, that's where he could usually be found. He sighed. Was it really any of his business what happened between Sally and Frank? Yes, if he puts himself in the shoes of their boss, but no if it's in the shoes of their friend. But his feeling for her complicated the matter, if only she knew...
"Alright mate?" Adam greeted Frank as he entered the pub.
"Yeah..." He murmured, "Ready then?" He asked.
Sally could hear Frank's voice as she was chatting with the lads, she turned to look at him and Adam talking and walked over to him, "Can I have a word?" She asked.
Frank looked at her.
"Outside?" She asked.
Frank nodded slightly, then followed her out.
"You told him," Sally murmured quietly.
"Told who?" Frank questioned dumbly.
"Mick!" She yelled, "Why did you do it? How could you do it?"
"Just thought the best thing to do was to tell him," Frank muttered.
Sally looked at him with hurt and betrayal in her eyes, "This is all a game to you isn't it?" She questioned loudly, "Sleep with a girl, brag about it and lie about how many times!" She yelled, making a drunken lunge for him as Adam walked out of the pub and Mick walked out of the station.
"Sally?!" Adam called out at her as she tried to hit Frank who walked back.
"You bastard," She yelled at Frank, her voice terribly low.
Mick ran across the street, helping Adam to restrain Sally back, who pulled away from both of them and tore off down the street.
"What was that all about?" Adam asked Frank.
"We just has a slight disagreement," Frank replied.
Mick looked at the two of them, then at Sally, who was walking further and further into the distance.
"I can see that mate," Adam replied, "But what about?"
"As I said, we had a slight disagreement."
