Cassie's POV:

When we got to the school I was still exhausted. I hadn't fallen asleep until 1:30 because I was up talking to my ex-boyfriend Jake. I had my bag checked and then found my best friend Keri.

"Dude, you look exhausted!" She laughed, pointing out the obvious.

"Jake had me up all night."

"Wait, your ex-boyfriend Jake?" I nodded. "Why was he talking to you?"

"I don't know he wanted to talk to me and try to still be friends with me."

She rolled her eyes, "Why can't he just say he still likes you?"

"I don't know, but from now until we get back I don't want to hear another word about him. I want to forget about him this weekend." I looked around at all the band people waiting for the bus. I noticed one guy standing with a bunch of his friends. He was tall, cute, and, from what I could see, the cutest guy in the entire band.

"Cassie, who are you looking at?" Keri asked and tried to follow my gaze.

"Oh, no one." I smiled. The bus arrived then and we all ran to try to get our bags on and then find a good seat. I sat in a seat with Keri, of course, and I noticed the mystery guy a few seats behind us.

Once we got to the camp I looked around and all you saw was trees and a huge lake. We drove down the road and passed a lot of cabins, the mess hall, and the pool until we stopped by our cabins.

"Well, here we are." Keri said.

The band director, Mr. Harris, came onto to our bus and said we were going to get our bags and settle in to our cabins. Keri and I got off the bus as fast as we could so we could get to our cabin to claim our beds. I saw Hanna walking towards the cabin with her friend Nicole so we ended up just following them. The cabin seemed small on the outside but inside there was actually a lot of space. The four of us were the first in the cabin so we got first pick of the beds.

After everyone set up their beds in the cabin we went down to the mess hall for lunch. Keri and I decided to sit at a table with a couple of other people that we met at the August practices. Aimee, a freshman who plays in the pit, she is short and has long blonde hair. Next to her was Damien, a sophomore, who is a drummer. And on my right was Lily another sophomore that plays trumpet with me.

"Apparently we are doing basics after lunch and then music." Lily said. We all rolled our eyes and continued eating.

As we ate Mr. Harris came around to all the tables. When he got to our table he stopped and looked at me. "You must be Hanna's little sister." I nodded. "Are you as good on trumpet as your dad used to be?"

"Oh, I don't know if I am as good as him but I'm not that bad I guess."

"She's being modest, she is really good!" Keri said to him smiling.

"Well there is a trumpet solo being fought over, maybe you should think about auditioning for it." He smiled and walked away.

"Wow, he already likes you." Damien said.

"I hope you do audition for the solo, I'm sure you would get it." Lily smiled.

"I don't know, we'll see." I said then looked and saw the mystery guy again. "Hey Damien, who's that?" I asked him.

He turned around and then looked back at me, "That's Tyson; he's in the drumline with me. He's a junior, why do you ask?"

"Oh, no reason," I smiled and looked over at Tyson who was now looking right at me. I started blushing and looked away.

As Keri was about to ask me something Mr. Harris stood up to talk to us. "Okay, the time is now 12:43. By 1 o'clock be at the field in a basics block." Everyone started to leave the tables and return to the cabins. I walked back with Keri and from the corner of my eye I could see Tyson and his friends.

Keri nudged me, "Is that the guy you were staring at when we were waiting for the busses?" I nodded and smiled at her. "Shall I work my magic and find out about him for you?"

"Would you? I mean, all I really want to know is if he has a girlfriend or not." I looked over at him and realized he was looking at me too. I looked ahead and hoped he didn't notice but when I looked again he was walking over to us. "Oh my god, he's coming over here." I whispered to Keri.

"Hey girls," he said and smiled at us. "You guys are new this year aren't you?"

"Yeah," Keri said.

"Well welcome to the band," he smiled. "You seem familiar," he said to me, "why do I feel like I know you from somewhere?"

I rolled my eyes, "You know my sister, Hanna. I came to a lot of competitions last year."

"Oh wow, yeah I see the resemblance." He smiled. "Well I guess I will see you guys around." He smiled and walked back to his friends.

"Oh my god, I can't believe he just came over here!" I said to Keri.

"He so will like you if you talk to him more!" She smiled.

"Maybe," I smiled and we walked into the cabin.
