Just a quick poem I threw together after reading The Iliad. It just follows the story of how the 10-year battle of Troy came about. So yes.

The death of a God

How can such turmoil and calamity,

Destroy Troy, so famous a city,

The vanity of three goddesses, so fair,

Caused pain and loss through all but a stare,

From Paris, made to judge the most beautiful,

He made a mistake in being too dutiful,

In Helen- more striking than a midnight sun,

For Paris, his prize was won,

But the anger of one so dominant,

Caused a battle which was more prominent,

Menelaus grieved for the loss of his wife,

And sent battalion to claim the life,

Of the one who charmed and stole her away,

And convinced her not to stay,

With the help of his brother Agamemnon,

And Achilles, so much more than a common man,

Ten years of pain and the thrashing of whips,

For the face that launched a thousand ships.
