- - - The Day Unlike Any Other - - -

Naruto Uzumaki hit the ground hard.

Shakily, he got to his feet, and looked around him.

Surrounding his 13-year old self was nothing but chaos. Strange beings flew around, firing blue bolts of energy, setting the populated city ablaze. Civilians ran as the disaster spread.

Brushing rubble off his tattered orange jumpsuit, Naruto started to run; he made it to what seemed to be an office building that was being used as a refuge.

Sadly, the creatures had found the building as well.

They jeered, jabbing their strange weapons as one pulled out a glowing, blue box.

He was about to toss it into the crowd, but a spinning red, white, and blue shield cut him off.

The shield bounced back to a man in a matching suit.

"Everybody, get out now!" he yelled.

Naruto, along with most of the people fled in fear, as the strange beings chucked the box at the man, who had barely blocked it in time.

The resulting blast sent him flying out the window.

The creatures continued to threaten the crowd.

Naruto sank down to his knees in fear as countless thoughts ran through his head.

'H-how did I get into this? Th-these things should be nothing! I've faced Gaara! Sasuke! Orochimaru! I just beat a freaking three headed monster, and saved that Fuma girl! This should be nothing!'

His fists clenched at his side, the whiskered blonde stood shakily.

'I won't sit on the sidelines anymore! I won't give up!'

A red aura started to surround him, earning some gasps amongst the crowd.

"I won't give up!" he muttered.

The aura of power started to take shape.

"I won't give in!" he said more audibly.

The creatures pulled out another box to deal with what they considered a threat.

"I'll protect these people!" he yelled.

The creatures threw the box directly at him.

"That's my nindo!" he yelled, as the aura exploded.

After making quick work of the Chitauri, Naruto ran into the streets, chakra tail waving behind him.

He saw a woman in black clothing riding on one of the Chitauri, the man from earlier fighting more on the street, a man in metal armor throwing what appeared to be a hammer at his opponents, a robot flying around shooting things, a giant green monster smashing things, and a man atop a building shooting arrows.

A giant flying worm-looking thing flew from around the corner, directly at the man with the shield, intent on killing him.

And Naruto wouldn't have that.

"Rasengan!"

The Kyuubi-chakra-powered technique slammed into the monster's face, shredding its armor an killing it instantly.

Naruto stood up admiring his handiwork, as a voice called out:

"Kid! Look out!"

Naruto leaned back in time to dodge a spear strike to the back. The alien warrior was taken down by a thrown shield.

The shield returned to its owner, just in time to block an energy blast.

"I don't know who you are kid, but if you're good enough to take down one of those things, then you're good in my book. Think you can help out?"

Naruto's only response was for a second chakra tail to emerge. He charged out into the streets, cutting down the aliens with kunai as he went.
