Mankind has always looked to the stars. Envious of the endless expansion of space, the hollow emptiness that made up the universe. When Mankind finally achieved spaceflight, it was glorious. New planets, new people, new governments.

But Mankind was also violent. Thriving in the chaos of war. Finding new ways of killing, wounding, and destroying. The natural curiosity of mankind was its fatal flaw. They were never content with what they had. They always wanted more.

That all changed when the Covenant attacked. For the first time in human history, they were all forced to band together, fight a common enemy that wanted to kill every last one one of them. All in the name of the Gods. All in the name of the Forerunners.
Humanity though, is one of the most stubborn forces the Forerunners saved. They refused to go down like lambs at a slaughter.

Every planet that was won by the Covenant was won by fire and blood. Billions were killed. Humanity was fighting for its very survival, and it unlocked the hidden genius that mankind always possessed.

The galaxy was forever changed with the war. In the last years of the war, as Humanity was pushed back moon by moon, planet by planet, system by system, one ship disappeared. The crew of the UNSC Halcyon class cruiser, Winter's Wrath, disappeared in a slipspace accident. The crew and ship were never seen again. Until something woke them up, in a galaxy not so far away.

UNSC calendar date: December 25th, 2587
UNSC Halcyon class Cruiser, Winter's Wrath
Location: Unknown

The outline of the Winter's Wrath shimmered slightly. The ship looked abandoned, with only the eyrie presence of a wild eyed blue lightform on the ships bridge. The faint outline of the engines were dull and dead, with the frozen mist of the cyrobay drifting in the hallways of the ship. The ships sensors were scanning the slipspace they were in, the current wormhole they had been for the last seventeen years. The Winter's Wrath, had an experimental engine, which allowed it go much quicker than most UNSC ships, even some Covenant ships. The ship's purpose was to transport an entire battalion of ODSTs to break the siege of Brazia, but an accident with the engine forced the captain to put everyone in cyrosleep, while the ship, literally, floated in and out of the flow of space and time. How this was possible, no one knew.

The ship's AI, named Napoleon, after the great general, was running basic diagnostics, seeing who was breathing, the ship's weaponry, that kind of thing. As he ran di once more, checking shielding capabilities, the cloaking system, the MAC gun, everything. The ship had the distinct honor of being the first ship to have shields, reversed engineered by the scientists of ONI. Being reoutfitted just days after its encounter with the Black Fleet, a fleet of Jackal pirates that almost took the Wrath. The Wrath had destroyed half of the fleet and taken the other half ships prisoner. The ONI spooks swarmed all over the ships like vagrants. The blue outline of the A.I sighed softly, before running diagnostics once more. As he was about to shut down for the day, he expected automated beeps.
What he did not expect was to be suddenly pulled of out of slipspace. Tearing another hole into space, the ship emerged, unscathed and colored black, its engine roaring to life. Napoleon did the only thing he could do. He woke the captain.

Alarms shrilled as the ship roared back to life. Automatic systems blared to life, as the darkness was soon engulfed with light. The MAC, after so many years of no use, was brought to life as well. The bays that had the crew on it, suddenly roared to life as well. The doors opened with a slight hiss, and walked in was the only person to stay awake all thirty-seven years. Professor Andrew Carda, a slightly crooked man with gaunt shoulders, wide and droopy eyes that looked like a sad puppy, graying hair that was cut in a buzz cut, long and slender arms, with piercing golden eyes. He had spent the last thirty-seven years making sure Napoleon didn't go rampant. It appeared that he had succeeded. The silent alarms wounded up as he pressed the button that woke the entire crew up. The doors hissed as gas escaped, and the crew woke up with a curse. Naval personnel yelped as pain coursed through their weak bodies, while the Marines and the ODSTs groaned.

Sergeant First Class Mickey Wilks, the man in charge of the ODSTs, woke with a groan. He was stark naked, for going into cryosleep with clothes hurt like hell. Cracking his knuckles, he kicked the door to the bay open, before stepping out. The thirty-eight Irish man was big; he stood over six feet, with muscles that bulged. His brown hair was cut into a buzz cut, while his grey eyes sparkled with a certain kind of defiance.

"Napoleon. What is the date?" The Irish ODST asked. The blue overcoat of Napoleon, along with the classic hat and posture of the French General, appeared right next to him,

"Sergeant, the year is December 25th, 2587. Merry Christmas." And the eyes of the Sergeant snapped out immediately.

"What the hell? Forty fucking years!?" He exclaimed brashly. Napoleon looked at him with a bored expression.

"Yes Sergeant. You have been sleeping on your ass for the last forty-seven years, six months, twenty days, and fourteen hours. Wee wee." And the A.I disappeared.

When Mickey found his clothes, he hurried and changed. He was dressed in a grey shirt and black shorts, the standard PT gear for the Marines. All around him were the 4,000 members of the cruiser, all bustling. Heading over to his barracks room, he heard the loud stomping noise of heavy, powered armor.

He glanced down. Mickey was tall. He was six foot five. He towered over most of the crew, but looking down made Mickey feel like a kid meeting his hero.

It was a Spartan. One of the last Spartan IIIs of Alpha Company to be exact. He was dressed in the SPI armor, but it had been upgraded, for this Spartan was one of the most lethal weapons in the world.

The SPI armor by itself was nothing special. Though it was a lot better than the standard ODST battle dress, it paled in comparison with the MJOLNIR MK V armor that was being used by the Spartan IIs. But this armor that the Spartan IIIs used on the Winter's Wrath wasn't just the regular kind with the shitty panels.

The SPI armor that the Spartan IIIs wore on the Winter's Wrath were upgraded with an active camouflage system, energy shields, and was the SPI MK IV. It was the pinnacle of the SPI armor, and was issued to six teams.

The Headhunters.

Suzuki-079A was one of two Spartans on board the Wrath. He was about five ten, but that was before the augmentations. He was now six foot and he was one of the middle Spartans in the Spartan III program, and was possibly the strongest. He was one of the first out of the cyrobay, and was now walking around, waiting for his other fellow HeadHunter. For that was the other purpose of the Winter's Wrath, and the reason it gained so many upgrades.

The Wrath's other mission was to deploy the Headhunters on the moon, which was under full control of the Covenant. Their mission was to destroy the base there and then hijack Seraphs to break the siege of Brazia. But that never happened, due to the slipspace accident.

Suzuki-O79A walked forward, his BR55 in his hands, as he proceeded to head towards the through the hallways that had just a few minutes before been empty, were now bustling with life, as naval personnel and Marines alike headed towards their stations. Three Marines were stationed right outside the bridge, their MA5B rifles shoulder comfortably.

The bridge of the Halcyon class cruiser was on the underbelly of the ship. The ship's AI, Napoleon, was visible on the holo-tank, waiting for orders. The MAC gun was charged, while the ship pulled right out of slipspace. Tearing a hole into space was very elegant on the outside. The ship groaned as it slipped right into real space, for the first time in thirty seven years.

The system they entered was quite...bland. The ships scanners detected at least thirty ships orbiting an crystal like planet. A giant red sun was in the middle of the system, while ten more ships were detected. The ten ships that were currently detected were firing on the thirty ships. Napoleon monitored the situation, and told the Captain.

Captain Ivan Wolfe was fifty years of age and had been fighting the Covenant for years. He was short, about five foot six, but was one of the finest naval officers in the UNSC, having survived Harvest, Big Bear, and several other naval had black hair, cut and trimmed to fit the standards of the military. He had hazel eyes that were stern to his crew, but he was always making sure his crew was taken care of. Currently the Winter's Wrath, had over 1,500 ODSTs, 1000 Marines, 800 Army troops, and 600 naval crew members. And of course the two Spartan IIIs.

Now he was in an unknown system with seven ships that may be hostile. His eyes scanned the space before him, the endless emptiness that had unlimited possibilities. But he had to make sure his ship and crew made it out alive. Turning to Napoleon he ordered the shields up.

"Yes sir...shields at 100% sir. Also, I am receiving a communications from a ship nearby..." the AI said.

The Captain said one simple thing.

"Have The Headhunters directed to the hanger."

Bridge of GNR Resolute

Outer Rim: Christophsis

Objective: Break Blockade of Christophsis and relieve Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi

Admiral Yularen was annoyed. As his Venator Class Destroyer, the GNR Resolute, fired a broadside of turbo lasers right into the port side of a Munificent class frigate, he received a hail from Anakin Skywalker. The frigate's shields flared, and the damage from the broadside was shown. The frigate's shields were then dealt the death blow when the turbo lasers fired once more, gutting the ship from bow to stern. The Munificent joined several of her sisters drifting into open space.

The battle had been difficult. Though the opening battle had been more or less successful, the Separatist blockade of the planet was in full force.

"Admiral!" yelled a clone on the bridge. Yularen turned to see what the clone wanted to him to see. What he saw astonished him.

It was a black ship, bulky and built like a block. On the side of the ship were the words U.N.S.C and followed by the words Winter's Wrath.

They speak basic? Yularen was astonished and flabbergasted.

"Sir! Picking up energy spike coming from the ship!"yelled a clone.

"Scan it!" And the ship's scanners went to work, and in a few seconds, it was done.

"Scans show that the energy spike is some sort of railgun. Also, the primary munitions and armaments are missiles and projectile base weaponry." the clone, who's name was Echo, said.

"Krief. These guys are backwards." Slug throwers, really?

"Admiral. The ship is to the port side." and when the Admiral did, he saw a massive slug explode out of the ship.

UNSC Winter's Wrath

System Unknown,

December 25th, 2587

A few minutes before the firing of main MAC Gun

The holotank was empty as Captain Wolfe answered the hail.

To his surprise, the person who soon matierlized on the tank was humanoid. The humanoid was bald, with tatoos on the face. The humanoid was also a female; Wolfe saw the small bosom and he looked up before she could call him out on it.

"Who are you?" She asked, in English, he was surprised to see.

"I am Captain Ivan Wolfe of the UNSC, captain of the Winter's Wrath." He answered, with pride, before the woman snarled.

"Fools! They are Republic!" She snarled at someone off the tank.

"Who are the Republic?" He asked, puzzled. These people didn't know who the UNSC was? And who in God's name was the Republic?

"You aren't going to trick me Republic scum! Droid, have six frigates engage the Republic scum. You will pay for siding with the Republic!" And the hail was cut off. Wolfe was puzzled, until he saw six skeleton like ships break away from the main engagement. Soon red laser fire filled the air, heading straight for them.

"All shields up! I want a firing solution on the lead frigate, and lets blast those bastards back to the stone age! We are the UNSC. We will not falter! Napoleon, I want archer missile pods Alpha through Delta activated. I want the Longsword and Shortsword squadrons on deck, and get the Headhunters to the HEV bay. I want a team on the ground and I want it done yesterday!" he ordered and seconds later, a calm female voice carried on the PA system.

"Headhunters, head to the HEV bay. I want Micky and his team ready for orbital drop. We are going to kill those bastards." The female voice was Lietunant Junior Grade Sabrina Silvia, one of the best cadets out of OCS. She was the communications officer, and was busy relaying the orders to all of the Marine fireteams and ODST teams.

The MAC gun was the pride and joy of the UNSC fleet. One of the only weapons in the UNSC arsenal that was able to neutralize the Covenant's space advantage. The draw back was that it took several minutes to recharge, and by that time, the ship was either destroyed or crippled.

The Wrath's MAC gun had several modifications. First it fired three lighter slugs that had greater penetrating power against the shields of Covenant craft. Also, it went extremely fast, almost at 1% the speed of light. The Wrath also had an experimental engine that was able to do pinpoint slipspace jumps.

"Napolepn, jump us behind that moon, so we can flank the enemy fleet. But first, let's give these alien bastards a taste of what a MAC gun does to ships like those."

Munificent class frigate Destruction of Values

Unknown Nemodian Captain

The Nemodian Captain snickered. Two Magma guards were nearby, protecting him as he ordered his small task force forward, the engines going faster. They would be in range of their new found enemy ship in one minute.

He practically jumped with glee. Six Munificent class frigates were enough to overwhelm the Republic's Venator-class Star Destroyers, and the ship they faced was blocky and looked downright Ugly! He was unable to supress a snicker.

"Captain! The scans are complete, the ship has projectile based weaponry and missiles." the lead droid said. The Nemodian practically sung with joy.

"Sir we are in weapons range."

"Open fire." And red ruby lasers were fired from the twin prow turbolaser cannons. Those cannons were powerful enough to melt an ice moon or penetrate the shields on a Grade III battle station. The lasers were meant to pierce shields and melt right through any type of armor.

The lasers from the turbolaser battery smashed right into the ship. But golden shields flickered, lessening the blow and leaving the ship intact. The Nemodian couldn't believe it. The ship barrel rolled swiftly to avoid the rest of the lasers. Soon afterwards, a shrill alarm came on.

"What is happening!?"He shrieked.

"Sir. The ship is firing some kind of coilgun. Impact in three..." He wasn't allowed to finish that sentence. Three slugs, made up of tungsten and a depleted uranium core. The three light MAC rounds punched straight through the Munificent class frigate's shields like it was nothing but a paper weight. Brilliant gold shields flickered as they failed, and the Destruction of Values was left floating space.

"SITREP!" The Nemodian ordered.

"Shields are down, reactors are down, and the turbolasers are no longer functioning. Sir. I am receiving a hail from the enemy ship." The droid officer said. The Nemodian gulped before turning towards him.

"Answer it." A handsome fifty year old human, dressed in what seemed like a standard officer's uniform appeared.

"I am Captain Ivan Wolfe of the UNSC. And I only have one message."

"And was it that."

"Don't mess with the UNSC." And with that the transmission was cut off.

A brilliant light shot from the coilgun once more, and three more MAC rounds sliced right through the Destruction of Values. The first shot gutted the frigate from bow to stern, the second smashed right through its bridge, effectively killing the Captain and the bridge crew, while the third shot destroyed the Destruction of Values. As the engine overloaded and the Munificent class frigate was sent into the cold depths of space, a certain AI smiled.

Bridge of the GNR Resolute

Battle of Christophsis

Admiral Yuralen couldn't believe what he was seeing. An enemy ship had gutted a Munificent class frigate like it was nothing. Sure the frigate had nothing special, but a cannon, a coilgun to be exact, had smashed right through the shields like it was nothing, then it gutted from bow to stern in six shots. Six shots to take out a Munificent class cruiser. It took the Resolute, a Venator class several minutes to batter one of them to the cold expansion of space, but the battle that had took place took about one minute. But the other five frigates were closing on the ship, and Wolfe didn't think the mysterious ship had a chance.

"Sir! Seven new contacts! On the starboard side!" And Wolfe turned to see seven holes being opened, and seven ships passed through. Six were graceful looking, and most of them were bigger than the Munificent class frigates. The seventh one though, looked just like a box but longer, longer than even his ship. On the side of the ship were the words UNSC, and following that were the words, Infinity.

So pretty rushed. However, the next couple chapters are prologue, while the main actions will be in the Imperial-Rebellion era. Chapters will be 3000-5000 words, and hopefully I'll be able to update this baby pretty soon. Leave a review, constructive criticism please, and if there is a debate about which is better, I am going start to moderate the reviews. I plan on Star Wars being more about numbers and the numerical edge, while the Halo UNSC play the whole Quality vs quanity stuff. Again please review!
