Chapter One

Saya looked around the dark, empty alley. She shivered as she pulled her small, silver pistol out of its holster. There was something here. The wind blew around her. "Are you lost or looking for something?" Saya spun around only to see a girl, whose long, light brunette hair whipped with the wind. Her black coat must be warm. Her hand went to behind her back. "Are you looking for my target?" Saya nodded. The only reason she was after this weakling was because she wanted to know who the most powerful and youngest sweeper, Black Cat II, was. Now that I think about it, I think I recognize her from somewhere. Saya aimed her weapon at the young sweeper. The girl whipped out a large gun and fired, somehow knocking the gun out of her hands. The girl smiled and Saya saw the black bottom to her gun and the 'XIII' carved on it. Her eyes widened.

That's Train's gun, Hades!

The girl put the gun back into its holster. "I think I have won this fight." She turned right as a bullet hit her shoulder. She hissed in pain. A man came down right on top on her, making her hit her head on the concrete. The man cackled. "Did you really think that two sweepers would be enough to stop me?" Saya shot her gun, making the bullet connect with his leg. He fell easily. The girl rubbed her head. Saya handcuffed him and said, "I guess I win."

Saya went to the hospital after she dropped the criminal off at the prison to check on the girl. The girl grunted in pain as the doctor dug the bullet out of her shoulder. Saya couldn't believe that she wasn't screaming. "It hurts like hell, but me screaming won't do anything," she said after the bullet was out. Saya still didn't understand. The two female sweepers sat down for lunch. "My name is Riu, by the way." "My name is Saya, nice to meet you."

A flash of something went across Riu's eyes. Now it was time for questioning. "So, nice gun you have there." Riu nodded absently. "Where did you get it?"

"My friend."

"Did you know a man named Train Heartnet?"

"…"

Nothing. Riu stayed silent. Then, "I guess lying can't get me anywhere. I did know Train Heartnet. And my full name is Riu Heartnet. He was my father."
