Christine turned to Juliette, her face red with fury, "Why?" "Why?" Juliette mimicked. "Have you ever known pain at all Christine? Have you ever known suffering!" Juliette's voice rose with anger, "No you haven't! And yet you judge Erik and you judge me! You don't know me!" Christine frowned, "Yes I do." "Oh?" Juliette asked, amused. "Yes. You are the Ghost Light of this theatre."

Prologue:
She looked down at the paper before her.
She had painted.
Is that not what he had wanted? Is that not what he had been forcing her to do?
He was not pleased.
They had wanted more from her. More art. More ensembles. More singing.
More.
More.
More.
They were too greedy.
They always were, but they wouldn't let her go.
She was lost.
Alone.
When she didn't do as she was told, she was locked away.
Or worse.
Juliette ran her shaking hands through her hair in exhaustion.
She had to get away.
She had to escape.
Juliette stood and slammed her fists against the small mirror in her cell, the crystalline glass shattering around her.
Her bleeding fingers reached for a rather large chunk of glass, and she began to saw away at the door.
It had to work. It had to.
It seems confusing a bit, so sorry! This particular scene actually takes place several years before the story. The next chapter will have some familiar Phantom characters in it. Juliette's past will be pieced together. Eventually.
