Hey guys ! thank you for all your reviews !I decided to post it today since tomorrow is our semi finals game and i wanted to leave something to celebrate haha ! oh yeah, i decided to base my update schedule on what i feel like updating and it will kinda be influenced by how many people read it or more specifically review it so you know what to do.

Having mastered the art of unseen movement, Halt didn't find it hard at all to get through the two people ,guarding the entrance of the healer's tent. It made it much easier for the ranger, knowing that their attention was focused on Sir David who was clamoring for a way into the tent to see his son.

As soon as Halt entered, he took one look at his former apprentice who was lying unconscious on the table .He wasn't able to take a good look at him though because of the many healers surrounding him, all of them panicked, trying to keep his weak heart beating or trying to sew up all of his wounds so he wouldn't lose too much blood. They were all trying to keep him alive and stable, at the same time placing all their trust on their best healer to find a way to save his life.

The ranger subtly made his way to a corner of the room and sat down, trusting his cloak to help him blend into the background. That would be his camp for the night. He had already told Will that he wouldn't be able to stay with him in the tent. He wouldn't be able to sleep anyway, knowing that when he wakes up it might be to bad news. He'd rather have the information first hand, whether Gilan lives or not.

He watched the healer Lucas order his apprentices to let the man in. This was getting interesting. He could tell from the face of the healer that he was planning something.

He watched as the battlemaster entered the room. The healer pulled a chair from the side and brought it to his workbench gesturing for the man to sit while he went to one of the healers working on the patient.

The healer handed him a vial with red liquid that was with no doubt, Gialn's blood and brought it back to the work bench. Though Lucas was talking in a hushed voice Halt had only to concentrate a bit harder just to make out most of what they were saying since they weren't too far

Halt's stomach dropped when he heard what the healer said. It was about the young ranger's condition. He couldn't make out the exact words but even with just the tone of voice, he already knew it wasn't good.

"Insurmountable blood loss… might go into shock…no sure alternative solutions…" That was all Halt could hear. He wanted to believe that what he was hearing was wrong but seeing the battlemaster look so vulnerable as he buried his face in his hands confirmed his initial fears.

"What now?" Sir David asked as he looked up.

"There is something we can try. Even though it's not a sure success, it's the best we have right now." Lucas suggested, his voice not so much of a hushed whisper anymore.

"Anything…" The distraught man pleaded as he took a glance at his son. " Just give him the best chance he's got."

The healer nodded and grabbed something from a somewhere on the table. Halt made it out to be a piece of glass. He poured some of the red liquid from the vial on it .He then gestured for the man beside him to give him his hand.

The man hesitated at first when he saw Lucas reach for a knife but in the end, he forced himself to trust the experience of the healer and stuck his hand out. He felt the knife open a wound in his finger and couldn't help but wince in surprise.

The knife drew enough blood from Sir David .Lucas brought the bloodied knife on top of the piece of glass with Gilan's blood and watched as the blood dripped on the glass.

He heard the healer mutter something probably from surprise and frustration.

"What's wrong?" He heard the other man say.

"I'm not sure if this is going to work anymore." Lucas replied.

"Why what happened?" The battle master's voice was then louder and angrier.

"Your blood is not compatible with his…It'll be counter productive if we use yours."

"This is only temporary right? We can use mine first and give him better ones once he gets to a real infirmary!"

Lucas shook his head. "We'll have to find another donor As soon as possible."

"Anyone… I'll get anyone to do it…" Sir David replied desperately

The other man raised his eyebrows. " I don't think it'd good to impose this on someone .They'll be dizzy and drowsy for a while since I'll be getting a lot."

That's when the battlemaster's morals started to bother him.

He didn't want to use his power to impose on others especially if it were for a selfish reason like also felt wrong for a battlemaster to use his power.

He didn't have to ponder any longer though. Halt had already appeared from the shadows, surprising both men.

"I'm willing to do it .Try my blood." Halt said.

Fortunately Halt's blood was a match. Lucas started to draw large amounts of blood from the ranger as soon as he found this out.

A few minutes later, Lucas had enough blood to keep the younger ranger stable until they arrive in Redmont. On the other hand, Halt had a pounding head ache and felt as if he was on a ship again .He knew that it was a small amount to pay though when he saw his apprentice still lying on the table. All the healers were gone ,probably resting already. The only one there was Lucas who was setting up something that was probably going to be used to help the blood enter the ranger's system. Gilan's father was to one side watching everything with a watchful eye as if he were watching battleschool drills .

He watched the healer finish setting the contraption up. It looked like a heart or more specifically, it acted like one. It would beat just like a heart as it pumped blood into one of Gilan's arteries.

He joined the healer and the battlemaster for the next thirty minutes as they made sure the young man didn't show any signs of rejecting blood and once the healer was confident that he would be fine for the night, he had him transported to a bed in the make shift infirmary.

Halt wasn't surprised to find out that the young ranger's father decided to stay by the bedside of his son through the night.

Before he left to retire to his tent, Halt wanted to leave a message to his ailing friend. He entered the tent were all the injured lay sleeping. There were not too many visitors and to Halt's luck, they were all asleep. He made his way quietly to Gilan's bed where to its right, Sir David lay sleeping.

The young ranger was still a deathly pale color and his breathing was still rattled. He could tell though that his life wasn't in any significant danger anymore. He took the hand of the pale ranger and squeezed it.

You can fight this Gilan… Just keep holding on…

He said a silent prayer to the ranger and then disappeared back into the night.
