Author Note : I have honestly no idea where this is going, but a kind reader gave a swift kick in the butt to get this story going so I thought I should at least post the prologue of this small story. This isn't gonna be a long story; but, it will hopefully be an eventful one. So, enjoy and thank you for all the reviews and favs that come my way.

Prologue : A Lost Little Boy

Wyatt looked through the thick pane of glass and gazed at a young child sitting on the edge of a plastic blue chair. Thick brown strands hid the boy's face as he poked and prodded at a hole in his jeans. The child was five, just shy of his sixth birthday, and he sat ignorant of the rush around him as social workers and other workers walked past him. He heard his mother demand that he take a DNA test before they took full-custody of the child. He glanced at the official paper sitting on the Lauren's desk, it marking him as the supposed father of the boy that was conceived during a quick tumble when he was fourteen.

Standing, he eased his way through the door. He knelt in front of the boy and smiled, "Hi, I'm Wyatt. What's your name?"

The boy tensed and his fist balled up on his jeans. "Okay, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to," Wyatt quickly stated before nervously chuckling, "It's fine, it's alright. We can just sit here."

"Wyatt,"

Turning on his heels, Wyatt raised an eyebrow towards his parents and Lauren. "Christopher will be placed into a foster home until your DNA tests come back,"

"But, he's my son. The birth certificate says so." Argued Wyatt.

"While it possibly gave us a good lead," Lauren began, "It might not been 100 percent truthful. A DNA test will rule out any uncertainties."

"It will come back positive,"

"That may be, but until then, we have to play it safe. Christopher will be placed with a foster family for a few days at most. This will give you time to gather the supplies necessary to care for a child and to talk about how this will change your family's dynamic."

Wyatt sighed and turned back towards Christopher, "I'll see you in a few days, okay?"

Christopher said nothing, the only response Wyatt got was the boy's body tensing. Wyatt frowned but stood. He gently ruffled the boy's hair. "See you later, little man." He said before following after his parents.
