Prologue: Favorite Guest

A white stretch limousine came to a halt in front of a comely house with white walls, green shutters and mahogany doors. The driver got out and walked to the back, opening the door, and offering a hand to the occupant.

A tall lady with silver-blonde hair, pale skin, and silvery-blue eyes, in a long white gown, stepped out onto the walkway. Though one would think that the captivating lady was in her early twenties, those silvery eyes held ages of wisdom and compassion.

"Godmother!"

The lady raised her eyes to the entrance of the house just as a fiery- haired girl with bright green eyes ran out towards her. She smiled as she knelt down to catch her eight-year-old godchild. "Happy Birthday Lily. Where is everyone?" The lady's silver-blue eyes sparkled merrily as she gazed down upon her exuberant godchild.

"They're around back! I heard your limo pull up and I just couldn't wait to see you! So I ran through the house to greet you! I'm soooooo happy to see you Lady! I wasn't sure you'd be coming... you didn't come to my last birthday or Petunia's." Bright emerald eyes gazed up at the much taller lady as she rose to her feet, setting the girl down.

"Oh I know. And I really am sorry sweet, I'm afraid work has kept me quite preoccupied as of late. I was I could've been there. Did you not receive your presents in the mail?"

The little girl nodded smiling brightly, "Yes! 'Tunia' got her locket and I got mine! I love it so much Lady! It's so pretty! It looks so delicate and fragile, I thought mama wouldn't let me wear it, but she said it'd look after itself and protect me! And it did!" She reached into the neck of her green dress and pulled out a pale gold and silver chain, attached to it was a delicately crafted white lily, set one a silver, heart-shaped leaf, with a small emerald positioned in the center. "I haven't had one bad dream since I put it on! I never take it off! Thank you so much godmother!"

The silver haired lady nodded, smiling gently, "You are quite welcome little one, though I'm sure it had nothing to do with your nightmares, you're growing into a big, strong girl now, no nightmare would dare come near you."

"Really?" The emerald-eyed child blinked, "Oh well! I love it anyway! 'Tunia's is really pretty too, though she says mine is better and won't put her's on..."

Serenity sighed, "Ah well, I am glad you liked your's. Shall we head to the party my little lady?"

"Yeah! It's right this way!" Grabbing the lady's pale hand Lily Evan's pulled her into the house.

The chauffeur smiled and, shaking his head in bemusement, sat down in the drivers seat to await his mistress's return.

I apologize for the shortness of it, most of my chapters may be rather short, that way I can get them out pretty quickly.
