I have a fairly good story that's been sitting in the FFX section because I originally meant it to be an AU sequel to FFX, Love Her and Despair. However, Baralai, Gippal, and Nooj have been in it from the start, and I now realize that I may need Vegnagun as well.

I prefer the style of FFX: epic, sweeping, with a hint of tragedy and hope.

However, I love the secondary characters. There are good ones with whom so much more could be done. Isaaru can be more than a game show host. Lucil and Elma, seasoned warriors, have a part to play. What if X-2 had chosen to go with Luzzu or Gatta surviving? And so on.

Most of my plot threads are going swimmingly -- the main idea being, "What if Yuna had gone with the Final Summoning in FFX, and thus continued the cycle?" So this is an alternate universe.

I've got Isaaru, his brothers, and Sir Auron on pilgrimage to defeat the Sin Yuna left behind -- and you'll have to read the story to see which of Yuna's guardians it is. I've projected Spira thirteen years into the future from the end of FFX. Baralai is one of the other maesters, Gippal's serving as a liaison to the Al Bhed. EVERYONE is keeping secrets from each other. Baralai's is what went down with the Crimson Squad.

Sin's changed tactics and is destroying all the temples, the aeons with them. Isaaru doesn't have the strength to beat it. Baralai finally tells him about Vegnagun, which-- over the years since Nooj shot him in the back -- Baralai has uncovered in Bevelle's archives. So he could use Vegnagun against Sin, as the airship was used in the original game.

Problem: if I use the Vegnagun/Crimson Squad plot, that means Nooj and Shuyin are around getting hold of Vegnagun. And my story is already pretty danged complicated. What do I do with Nooj and Shuyin?
