Topic: Original breakfast clun script

I'm sure most of you already know about this, but I came across it the other day and thought it made for interesting reading. It sure changed quite a bit...I wonder how much was shot and not used?

I didn't know about it! D: Is it the original script of the movie with the deleted scenes in it? I can't read it for some reason D: Someone tell me what's in it before I go loco!!!!

Okay,

Well as far as I can see, it's a very early draft, and theres no reason to doubt it's genuine, the stuff that isnt in the film, does go really well, you could imagine it being there. And it's definatley a script thats been typed and scanned in, so I cant even copy and paste bits.

Main differences are:

Claire is called Cathy

John gets dropped off at school by his dad and gets his lunch thrown at him

Theres no janitor, but a phys ed teacher called 'robyn' who has a much bigger part

Theres a scene where they go to the bathroom. In the girls Allison eats chips in the stall and gets a disgusted response from from Claire, in the boys bri pees in the stall and gets ribbed by Andy and John

The essay is slightly different it reads 'You see us as you want to see us, Johns Crazy and Bad, Cathys spoiled and beautiful, Andys Strong and mature, Allion's Loony Tunes and Brian is brilliant. Thats pretty much as we see ourselves, what we found out sir is that we're all crazy and bad and beautiful and stong and mature and loony tunes and brilliant...Take it or leave it, the breakfast club."

Theres no dance scene, lol

It's just in some scenes theres more dialouge, or its been changed completely.

I'd love to see how much made the orginal film!

Hmmm, well I know Claire's original name was Cathy. And that there was a scene where they went to the bathroom out in the hall because there's pictures leaked for that. And maybe this phys-ed teacher, Robyn, was the swim coach that Vernon was spying on in the deleted scenes? So some of it does match up to what we know. Although I find it weird that Carl wasn't in there, and I thought that the original dancing scene only involved Claire? But it might be possible that this was the first script...or a very early revised one. That's interesting! :D

I heard about that on an imdb forum, of course I immediately downloaded it and now I read it for inspiration, it's a shame to read all these lost scenes and imagine what could have been...but it does wonders for fanfiction!

There were so many differences, I'll have to jot some down for you soon. It really adds a lot to the character profiles. eg: Claire and her chapped neck.
