ObsessedRomanticTopic: Demented and sad, but social. This topic is to ask the fan Fic community how their own High School experience either past or present compares to the Charecters in the Breakfast Club. I'll start us off, I was a combo of the Geek (Brian) and the basket case. and most of my teachers tended to be clueless dipps.Joanne |

MidnightBlue88Hey, Sergeant!I was--and still am--a combination of Brian, Bender and Andy. I've got Brian's love of reading, nerdiness, and tendency to ramble. I've got Bender's sarcasm, study habits, and complete and utter disrespect for authority. And I've got Andy's moodiness and anger (never beat anybody up, though!). As far as teachers go, most of mine were pretty cool, if tough and demanding. I found Vernon to be funny, but ultimately one-dimensional. | #2 May 08th 2006, 11:04pm

ObsessedRomanticWell buddy, it sounds like you are a prototypical inmate of the 21st century AMerican Educational system. Witch means it really hasn't changed all that much from when I was doing time at Albuquerque HighJoanne | #3 May 08th 2006, 11:37pm

MidnightBlue88I don't think much changes when it comes to getting through four years of high school. I think that's why the Breakfast Club is so easy to relate to, even today. Plus, you've got five different characters to follow and get to know, so everyone can identify with at least one of them.| #4 May 09th 2006, 12:01am

ObsessedRomanticI first Saw the Breakfast club when I was actually in high scholl in the eighties in the theater, and everything it had to say was true and it's as relevent now as it ever was.Everyone of us is A brain, and an Athelete, and a Princess, and a criminal, and a basket case Joanne | #5 May 09th 2006, 12:24am

Smirks of ApathyI would have to say that I am a combo of all of them. -I ramble like Brian -Shop like Claire [although not designer..more like Hot Topic or Spencers] -Talk like Bender [with the sarcasm and sometimes cursing], -I'm kinda out there like Allison, -And I can be fairly athletic when needed [Andy]. | #6 May 11th 2006, 12:42pm

TWbasketcaseLol this is fun.Well as for my personal high school experience. I was definitely the criminal, and straight up only the criminal. (blushes a bit). I was the only girl at school with a mohawk (there are pictures of my punk band on the net to prove it!) Smoked weed at school, skipped so much that I got suspended, talked back in class and never did any homework. Although I only ever failed one class and that was advanced science, and dammit it was hard! lol. Although...I'm not all that bad anymore. Personality wise I am more a criminal/basket case. I have a creative, a-social, observant side like Allison. Yet a loud, sarcastic, tempermental edge (my temper is the worst) like Bender. However I can honestly say that now (since I am in college) I have more of a Brian/Andy side...I am going to school to be a firefighter so that requires chemical knowledge + physical exertion. So there! Kristen | #8 Jun 16th 2006, 12:04am

Jesse HayesI am the sixth stereotype for TBC... the Mary Sue. I was that girl in high school that got a solid B+ average, but never cared enough to push it up to and A. Everyone liked me and knew my name, but I never was 'popular' in that mean, fashion-savvy way. I would eat lunch one day with the Mathletes, then the next with the Aquabats fan club, then the next with the Volleyball team, and Thursday with the Drama club. (By x-mas of frosh year I found a group of fellow Mary Sues to eat lunch with, lol.) I was snarky and sarcastic, but there was only one teacher I didn't get along with. I played on one sports team, I wasn't amazing, but I did ask them to form the team (Badminton). So... ya.... a little piece of all five... turning me into a Mary Sue, lmao.-Lori |

ObsessedRomanticI can't say the same, I didn't really come into my own until after high school, I remember one of my councilors telling me that I should enjoy high school because these were the best years of my life. I thought about that and told her that if my high school experience was as good as my life would get, my life was going to suck.Thankfully she was wrong. | #10 Aug 21st 2006, 7:23am

outofyoghurtWell I'm the smart one and I also have a lot of wisdom from my life experiences so I'd be Brian mainly but then I have a humour similar to Bender's and a kooky side like Allison. Not a sporting person apart from recreation and definitely not popular like Claire but I'm happy. :]| #11 Aug 05th 2007, 1:07am

Mari SofiaThat's an interesting question. I think that when it comes to my character, I'm a combination of everyone. I get good grades like Brian, (although I don't stress about school) I love reading and I also ramble sometimes. I'm from a wealthy family and I tend to get hurt easily, like Claire. I'm not always that social and I'm often somewhere in my own, private world, like Allison. I like drawing as well, although I'm not good at it. I can lash out sometimes like Andy and I think there are some other likenesses as well, but I don't know how to describe them exactly. I don't think I actually have that much in common with Bender, except that we are both rather independent persons.I'm not that sure what my "social status" in my school is. My friends are all very different kinds of people and I get somehow along with most of the school. But the chliques in here are not as important as in the American schoolworld.(although I only know the American schoolworld from TV and movies so I don't really know) Of course some people are more popular than others and all that, but it's not considered odd to have friends with very different backgrounds. I wouldn't know what chlique to put myself into. As for teachers, I like most of mine at the moment, but there have been a few I've hated with a passion. At the moment my worst one is a Finnish teacher who is probably the weirdest person I know. He makes odd sound-effects during his speech, and he teactes us all kinds of far-fetched theories that border on philosophy and mathematics, and which are really boring. He's rumored to be really intelligent, so perhaps he just doesn't get us dunderheads. Mari | #12 Aug 05th 2007, 2:20pm

Sadie LovegoodFor me, i was a little bit of Bender, Allison, and Brian, although i was more Bender and Allison than anything. I was VERY punky and loved trouble and standing out. I HATED the preppy/rich kids. They were always size 0s and yet called themselves fat and everything. I was a drama geek too, I guess. I never was the lead in anything, but i had moderate roles a few times in community theater plays (i was rarely in school plays), like once, I was Maureen when my community got the rights for a "Selections from RENT" performance, and I was Nessa when we got rights for Selectiomns from Wicked. I dunno who in TBC would be molst likely to be a drama geek. I never got arrested, but i came close a few times, i must admit. That was the Bender side of me. ^^ I had my group of friends and they had a garage band (Jesus & The Pirates....best. band. ever.) I wasn't in it. I played drums a few times when the drummer guy wasn't there, but i was more of the chick who drove the van around because for the longest time, i was the only one with a license. Great times. Gah-REAT times. Recently, some of my college chicks and I decided to get a band together because we DESPERATLEY need gig money. I guess I'll be the drummer because none of my other chick friends do. We still need a name and our first gig, but we've got a few songs in the works, so that's kewl, i guess. ~Sadie | #13 Aug 05th 2007, 7:11pm

TWbasketcaseThat's...pretty interesting. I played drums for about a year and a half (had my own kit) and I was no where near good enough to play drums in a band. Usually - from the amount of drummers I played with/toured around with - they were good enough to finally start in a band after about 3 and a half years of playing. I once tried to start a band on the fly with people who hadn't been playing for any more than a couple of months and it was brutal. LMAO Playing in a band takes a lot of work, but I would imagine it couldn't be THAT hard to start one in NYC. **, my band members and I come from a town of 73,000 and we were able to play shows without a dime in our pockets. Its all about the DIY. All you need is your instruments (that is if you actually have them). It sounds like you have a pretty weird music scene where you come from if you have to start a band to get gig money for a band.Ah coppers. I have so many stories about cops. XD I sometimes wish I grew up in a bigger city so I would've had something better to do with my time than ** the piggies off. I've had a kick ** leather jacket, three belts, two bags, and a whole ** load of jewelry accessories ripped off me by them because I ** them off so bad. ** one time I had a cop kick my door in because he thought I had a gun (my friend was stupid and lit a firework off out my window) and we had a HUGE pile of weed on the table (way more than the delegalization amount) and I could've gotten in fat trouble for that. But he was like 'gimme half of that and I won't say a word.' Yep, gotta love the piggies. XDDDD | #14 Aug 06th 2007, 2:08am

Selena Valentine MarsWell, I geuss many would (since I still am in High school) consider me a combination of Claire, Bender, and Brian. I get Brian because of my work ethic, my natural ability to get good grades, and my geekiness generally. I'm an academic decathlete so let's just put that there too. Claire because I can be a b*tch when I want to be, my parents are not always fighting but they seem like Claire's parents, my love of shopping and wierd foods Bender because I too have an attitude problem, a total lack of respect for most authority, and my study habits although I should be studying the most I don't. So this is why I am these characters, it's a funny combinitation but it's me. | #15 Dec 25th 2007, 12:30pm
