Topic: Songs for the Sountrack to PPTH
Lately I've been noticing an increasing number of songs reminding me of House characters so I thought I'd make a new tread for myself and others to post lyrics of House-y songs...They can be serious, tongue-in-check, whatever... :)

I thought this one fit House/Cam, from Cam's P.O.V.--maybe how her personality has started to change from being around House...

"It's Not Me" by 3 Doors Down

Nevermind the face that you put on

In front of me

And nevermind the pain

You've put me ..through

Cause every little thing you say

And every little thing you do

It makes me doubt all of this

What are you waiting for?

Look what you did

Is this who you wanted me to be?

Well it's not me

Look what you did

Is this how you wanted it to be?

This life you gave away

Was meant for me

Forget about the trip that you've been on

Or so it seems

Nevermind the lies that you told, my tears

Cause every little thing you said

And every little thing you did

You made me doubt all of this

Is that what your waiting for?

Look what you did

Is this who you wanted me to be?

Well it's not me

Look what you did

Is this how you wanted it to be?

This life you gave away

Was meant for me

Was meant for me

Was meant for me

Yeah, Yeahhhhhh

Look what you did

Is this who you wanted me to be?

Well it's not me

Look what you did

Is this how you wanted it to be?

This life you gave away

Was meant for me

I don't know how I can face this pain

I'll keep it inside so you can't see

I don't think I can go on this way, 'cause it's not me

Here's another song that maybe fits House/Stacey...

"What Hurts The Most" (by Rascal Flatts)

I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house

That don’t bother me

I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out

I’m not afraid to cry every once in a while

Even though going on with you gone still upsets me

There are days every now and again I pretend I’m ok

But that’s not what gets me

What hurts the most

Was being so close

And having so much to say

And watching you walk away

And never knowing

What could have been

And not seeing that loving you

Is what I was tryin’ to do

It’s hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go

But I’m doin’ It

It’s hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I’m alone

Still Harder

Getting up, getting dressed, livin’ with this regret

But I know if I could do it over

I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart

That I left unspoken

What hurts the most

Is being so close

And having so much to say

And watching you walk away

And never knowing

What could have been

And not seeing that loving you

Is what I was trying to do

What hurts the most

Is being so close

And having so much to say

And watching you walk away

And never knowing

What could have been

And not seeing that loving you

Is what I was trying to do

Not seeing that loving you

That’s what I was trying to do

I don't know why, but the lyrics to I Hope You Dance by Ronan Keating reminds me of what House might say/think to/about Cameron if he was seeing her for the very last time.

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder

You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger

May you never take one single breath for granted

God forbid love ever leave you empty handed

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean

Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens

Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance

and when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance

I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance

Never settle for the path of least resistance

Living might mean taking chances but they’re worth taking

Loving might be a mistake but it's worth making

Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter

When you come close to selling out reconsider

Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance (time is a wheel in constant motion always)

I hope you dance (rolling us along)

I hope you dance (tell me who wants to look back on the years and wonder)

I hope you dance (where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean

Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens

Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

Dance (time is wheel in constant motion always)

I hope you dance (rolling us along)

I hope you dance (tell me who wants to look back on the years and wonder)

I hope you dance (where those years have gone)

I hope you dance

I hope your dancing

I hope your dancing

I pray your dancing

I hope you dance

Are songfics banned on ff.net? Because if they're not I might just write one ...

No, songfics aren't banned. Here's a song that I think describes Cameron (and House's belief that she loves broken men) incredibly well.

FIX YOU

When you try your best but you don't succeed

When you get what you want but not what you need

When you feel so tired but you can't sleep

Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face

When you lose something you cannot replace

When you love someone but it goes to waste

Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home

And ignite your bones

And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below

When you're too in love to let it go

But if you never try you'll never know

Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home

And ignite your bones

And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face

When you lose something you cannot replace

Tears stream down your face

And I...

Lights will guide you home

And ignite your bones

And I will try to fix you

And for Chase, well... Obviously dealing with the whole God issue...

PERSONAL JESUS

Your own personal Jesus

Someone to hear your prayers

Someone who cares

Your own personal Jesus

Someone to hear your prayers

Someone who's there

Feeling unknown

And you're all alone

Flesh and bone

By the telephone

Lift up the receiver

I'll make you a believer

Take second best

Put me to the test

Things on your chest

You need to confess

I will deliver

You know I'm a forgiver

Reach out and touch faith

well, i can see that there's a lot of hameron shipping, but this song reminded me of chas/cam, from chase's POV. It might be slightly out of character for both chase and/or the way he views cameron.

"Vulnerable" by: Secondhand Serenade

Share with me the blankets that your wrapped in

because its cold outside cold outside its cold out side

share with me the secrets that you kept in

because its cold inside cold inside its cold inside

and your slowly shaking finger tips

show that your scared like me so

let pretend were alone

and I no you may be scared

and I no were unprepared

but I don’t care

tell me tell me

what makes you think that you are invincible

I can see it in your eyes that your so sure

please don’t tell me that I am the only one that’s vulnerable

impossible

I was born to tell you I love you

isn't that a song already ?

I get a B in originality

and its true I cant go on without you

your smile makes me see clearer

if you could only see in the mirror what I see

and your slowly shaking finger tips

show that your scared like me so

let pretend were alone

and I no you may be scared

and I no were unprepared

but I don’t care

tell me tell me

what makes you think that you are invincible

I can see it in your eyes that your so sure

please don’t tell me that I am the only one that’s vulnerable

impossible

slow down girl your not going anywhere

just wait around and see

maybe I am much more you never no what lies ahead

I promise I can be anyone I can be anything

just because you were hurt doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bleed

I can be anyone anything I promise I can be what you need

tell me tell me

what makes you think that you are invincible

I can see it in your eyes that your so sure

please don’t tell me that I am the only one that’s vulnerable

impossible

"How to Save a LIfe" by the Fray

About Wilson's attempts to intervene with House's issues.

Step one you say we need to talk

He walks you say sit down it's just a talk

He smiles politely back at you

You stare politely right on through

Some sort of window to your right

As he goes left and you stay right

Between the lines of fear and blame

You begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best

Cause after all you do know best

Try to slip past his defense

Without granting innocence

Lay down a list of what is wrong

The things you've told him all along

And pray to God he hears you

And pray to God he hears you

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

(How To Save A Life Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com)

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice

You lower yours and grant him one last choice

Drive until you lose the road

Or break with the ones you've followed

He will do one of two things

He will admit to everything

Or he'll say he's just not the same

And you'll begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life

How to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life
