It depends on the length. It can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to a couple of months. I have to research sometimes, occasionaly a scene doesn't work out the way I want and I have to rewrite it, I have to be certain it's all consistent with what I've already written...then there's spellcheck and grammarcheck.

It can take a while, but it's worth it.

So far the longest time one has taken around six months, while the shortest time one has taken around 6 hours. My chapters are actually quite short (between 2,200 and 2,500 words generally), but unless I really get into the flow of things, I can't write a single thing until I get some inspiration.

Generaly speaking, it takes as long as I feel like it. :)

In the case of my current chapter fic, the first chapter took about two days to complete. The second chapter took over a month because I had to re-write it five times before I found something I enjoyed, and the third chapter I'm working on is takign for ever because I burnt myself out writing the second chapter so many times! XD

Years ago, when I wrote under a different penname for a different fandom, I could pop out the chapters. Then again, I didn't sweat little detais like, you know...grammar. Or characterization. Or plot. ;)

I completely agree. For me, it takes anywhere from seven days to seven months to get a chapter out. I need the inspiration to keep going, otherwise, the writer's block kicks in and I delete the story.

It also takes me that long because I can't always get to the computer, unlike most of my writing friends. BL13 out!

Usually, it takes me about 2 hours. Though most of my stories are only once chapter long. I get bored too easily. XD
