Topic: Least Favorite Character?

Who's your least favorite character and why?

I'm going to wait to answer this one. I'm about to rewatch the movie. I'll answer afterwards.

Noriko, she just leaves a sugary-sweet taste in my mouth every time I watch Battle Royale or read any scenes involving her in the manga. No depth, just small talk.

Good question. I was partial to almost everyone in the movie. I only liked Chigusa and the girl who hid under the table while the other girls killed each other. If I had to pick I would pick the girls on the hill. I am extremely bad at remembering character names. Sorry. The girls with the megaphone who were screaming like a couple of asses. I didn't like them. They deserved to die.

my least faviroute charecters would have to be. Boy #10 Ryuhei Sasagawa Boy,Boy #14 Shou Tsukioka ,

#17 Mitsuru Numai, Boy #9 Hiroshi Kuronaga, Girl #5Izumi Kanai. there all fool's for trusting a psycho! except Shou in da manga his head go boom!

I agree Necropolis. They were a little daft from what I could tell. Even though I do like Kiriyama, I wouldn't be stupid enough to hang around with him if I knew someone like that. I did like Numai a little more than the rest of them because at least he had epiphany. I guess that didn't help his cause too much since he still died.

I didn't like the girl who poisoned the food. What was her name? Yuki? Yuri? Something like that? I didn't like her. She seemed to have a Snitsky-complex (IT WASN'T MY FAULT!).

Probably Yumiko and Yukiko... because they were a tad illogical with that plan...

I don't mind the Kiriyama family (or really... Sho and Matsuri, no opinion on the others). Noriko was quite annoying though

I really hate Kiriyama in the movie. There is absolutely zero depth to his character, except that he likes to kill things. An appealing persona for otaku to latch onto, but completely illogical.

He's better in the book, but still not a favorite of mine.

I agree with the Aoi about Kiriyama in the movie but in the book u find out why he's like that so he's ok in that.

I'll probably get killed for this but......i dont like Noriko or Shuuya. Noriko coz she's annoying and Shuuya....i dunno why i just dont.

I saw this fanart about Noriko...it had her as a tamagotchi, like all 'feed me!' 'help me' and stuff. I found it rather funny.

Completely agree. Really dislike Noriko and Shuya. Bland, too good for their own good, and all they do is whine. Of course, I can understand that they are shocked and scared, and that they are genuine nice, good people... but i just wish they woke up and said "right, this is a game of death, and whether we like it or not, we have to play". But no. All they did was run around and cry. They are just a weak excuse for protagonists.

Totally agree. If this was reality, let's face it, no one that optimistic/niave could have ever survived. It's only thanks to Kawada that they made it and even then I hate that someone as awesome as him died for the likes of them. "Shuuya, shut up!" came to my mind a lot. I really gotta wonder why is it exactly that the two most boring people are the main characters.

I can't really pin point one character, but Mitsuko was the one who betrayed her entire group without a second thought. People like her tend to ** me off a lot.

There are a few that I can't say I hate, but make me a little irritated. Under the circumstances I can understand why Akamatsu (I think that was him) went nuts and killed Tendo. I know he thought that everyone was going to be after him, but he failed to realize that Nanahara, Shinji, Noriko and a few of the others weren't exactly the same as the guys that hung out with Kiriyama and Mitsuko. Either way, his irrational actions ticked me off slightly.

The other two were Yukiko and Yumiko, whose tactics were good as a beginning thought, but they should have realized that some people were going with the game. Not that they should know that Kiriyama got the guns, but still. The last guy that made me lose faith in the human race was the guy who tried to kill Takako. I'm too lazy to look up the name but really... the last thing you should worry about in a game like that is being killed as a virgin. Big whoop no nuts.

Does the instructer count? He was the most evil person without a doubt. Especially in the book and manga. First there was the thing with the woman at the orphanage, then shooting Noriko, and who can forget what he does to Megumi.

than there's Niida, who was arrogant and narcissistic (although he probably isn't quite the sadist that most of you view him to be. Afterall he was cetainly uncomfortable when he watched Kiriyama rip the teacher's eye out.)

there's that Ryuheii guy who was always picking on Akamatsu.

Yoshimi's boyfriend (just didn't like him)

Noriko.

Megumi recieves a cell phone from her parents for the trip. She tries calling her dad. But the instructer, isn't his name Sakamochi. Well, the manga's scene is kinda pervy, I'll just leave it at that. But in the book he tells her that she was told that it would be impossible to call anyone. Then when Mitsuko enters the house where she's hiding, he actually calls her back to warn her to turn off her phone, because if someone else is around and he calls they'll hear it and know where she's hiding.

From the looks of this Noriko is not very popular.

I wouldn't really say Noriko and Shuuya were protaganists at all. All they did was run, cry and whine. The true protoganists were Shiji and Kawada.

Anyway, I think the instruction 'Kitano' in the movie was not as evil as everyone made him out to be....I mean he was still an absolout freak, but he had a bit of depth y'know? He was all sad coz of his daughter n stuff.

In the book he was a right bastard though I think his name was Sakamochi. He has no depth.

Oh but I have another hated person(people) to add!!!!

EVERY ONE IN THE CAST OF BRII!!!! I'm happy most of them died cause if not I would have had to KILL THEM MYSELF!

It totally made me loose respect for the director of the first movie! - although to be fair he died halfway threw and his son took over. And you can totally tell when he took over because it goes from 'Bwahahahahah lets KILL THEM ALL!' to 'Lalalalala lets be happy happy people and have lotsa fun and play golf or something whilst waiting for people to come kill us! oh my, look we're all dead! Well atleast I didn't die without having fun!'

Grrr. It makes me mad.

Oh plus -- Niida in the book has more....hateable-ness. He's a total perv. Sigh.

I also hated Tadakatsu in the book. He's a total wan! HE KILLS Yuichiro! Yuichiro was soooo sweet!!!

Heh I hate a lot of people... but let's just start with the usuals of Ryuhei Sasagawa, Hiroshi Kuronaga. I dislike Sho, Kazushi and Yoshio. Seto and Oki bug me too.

I really hate Mizuho, Haruka and Yukie. Never liked them and probably never will. Yukiko was never a favourite of mine, and neither was Yuka.

In general, I only like about 10 people, the rest of them I mainly hate or feel neutral towards.

I agree with you with the BRII comment. I was like wtf when the instructor's collar explouded when he landed the rugby ball. And that girl who said she wet and she wouldn't go over to her team. The girl with the fuzzy blonde hair girl deserved to die, I think her nmae was Kasumi I forgot.

Yeh the blonde girls face was really annoying wasn't it? lol

But the worst part about the movie was NOONE had any character background exept that one girl who was all 'Grrr. Shuuya killed my dad who i actually hated. Grrr revenge-ness.' Honestly.

I liked the idea of the 'Wild Seven' survivers thing tho. Also liked the name since Im pretty sure - according to the first BR novel - that it was Shuuyas nickname or something lol.

But still. How crappy was that movie. It made me want to kill myself. Sigh.
