![]() Hi, new guy in the BR fanfic community here with an idea: The basic plot summary involves Yoshitoki a few weeks-months prior to his returning to school for that fateful trip, while out in the middle of a deserted street or back alley, is approached by a mysterious girl who tells him that her name is Mai (the quiet girl who won the game at the beginning of the first film) and she is a member of a resistance group opposing the Battle Royale Program. So Yoshitoki is all like "Why should I care?". At that point, Mai reveals states that he might have a "vested interest" in the downfall of the program... showing him captured documents stating that that his best friend and his crush are part of a class selected for the BR program. This gets Yoshitoki more interested in the resistance, and... cue the training montage... Now, the main part of the story, a rescue mission to the island. Mai and Yoshitoki will be working in a pair, infiltrating on the night of the first day by way of a fast motorboat or jet ski painted black, with no lights. Nonetheless, they are detected and shot at by one of the patrol boats circling the island, however, they manage to ditch to boat on the side of the shore and escape. Things get more interesting, however, when, the next day, it is announced that terrorists have infiltrated the island and that any contestant who kills one of the terrorists will be given a free pass of the island. Furthermore, all danger zones except the school have been cleared, so the Yoshitoki and Mai can't hide in the danger zones, safe from the contestants So, now Yoshitoki and Mai have to find Shuya and Noriko, while being ambushed and betrayed all along the way. As for weapons, they will both bring in some kind of firearm, presumably with equal firepower to the soldiers and superior firepower the contestants. I was thinking possibly an AK74SU carbine for Mai and an full-size AK for Yoshitoki, with one of them possibly having a GP-25 grenade launcher, as well as some sort of sidearm and combat knife. Now, just because they have bigger guns doesn't mean they will have it easy. Advantages of a weapon are relative and vary from situation to situation. I plan to put them in a few extreme close quarters situations where the Uzis and pistols carried by their enemies (probably Kiriyama and Mitsuko and possibly the "lighthouse girls") will actually be more effective, as its difficult to turn with a full-sized assault rifle in a narrow hallway or staircase, or indeed, in a dense forest, where the barrel can get caught between the trees. 3/16/2012 . ![]() It's definitely a unique premise, but there are a couple things I don't understand. Why wouldn't Yoshitoki just tell his classmates about being selected for the Program? And what good would infiltrating the island for this certain iteration do when the BR act has been a staple establishment for decades? 4/10/2012 #2 |
