DerangedGeniusTopic: Favorite Doctor We all love the Doctor, but which one of his incarnations do you drool over the most? The 4th Doctor, with his ginormous scarf and foofy hair? The 2nd Doctor, with his dry wit and recorder skills? Or perhaps the 7th Doctor, with his question mark-topped umbrella and awesome companion Ace? Come on down and squee your hearts out. Who's YOUR favorite Doctor? |

ComsatAngelNot sure quite what "squee" is, and whether you'd eat or drink it ...I used to be passing fond of the 4th Doctor, but of late the 3rd has taken my regard. There is an absolutely iconic moment in "The Silurians" that sums up The Doctor in his entirety in a scene that lasts about 5 seconds. So there, Mr Tennant! |

runningondreams*sigh* I guess I con't really comment because I haven't seen the older Doctors. I'd like to thoug: anyone know where i could find them? |

RomanaTimeLadyWell, you can find some geat clips of the earlier Doctors on YouTube.com, or you can get on Amazon and order the stories. My favourite Doctor of all time is 4, but after that it's 3,5,10,9. |

Anderson jrMy top three Doctors would have to be; Tom Baker: He's just so damn brilliant with his whimsical nature and brooding seriousness all in one. Colin Baker: Now there is a man who can make the Doctor throughly unlikable... and yet likable. Peter Davison: Easily the most likable of all the Doctors with his charm and youth.| #9 Jul 10th 2007, 10:56am

Y-KiraI completely agree with you there. But most people have a grudge against poor Colin. I don't see why. I think I liked his coat in a strange, mixed up way.| #10 Jul 10th 2007, 12:42pm

DerangedGeniusI liked Colin, too, but I found him to be a little too brash for my taste. But he did have some classic stories. Shame they had to sack him. Does anyone know why they did that?| #12 Jul 14th 2007, 2:46am

Y-KiraIt was mostly because viewers didn't like his whole persona, most of which was not Colin's fault, but JNT's. The outfit, the Trial, the 'angry' Doctor, the companions, and not to mention the fact that they cut the budget down even lower than the usual Doctor Who budget. If you doubt this at all, you can watch Timelash and pay close attention to the special effects. The finger was pointed at Colin because the fan's pointed the finger at Colin at the time. He's very good in the audios though, if you have a chance to look at a few.| #13 Jul 14th 2007, 10:15am . Edited Jul 14th 2007, 10:16am

DysthymiaYeah mine's the fourth Doctor too. I did see part of a sixth Doctor episode though. I liked it, but my little sister still thinks it's weird. We watch some Doctor Who episodes that have been recorded onto tapes. There's some ninth Doctor ones and then there's Mindwarp. And I've read seven Doctor Who books. Two were published in the 70's and I read each three times in two weeks. I read The Shadow of Weng-Chiang three or four times. There's also two other fourth Doctor books, a third Doctor book and a second Doctor book. The last five I inherited from my grandmother. | #14 Sep 28th 2007, 11:25am

mat528I rank the Doctors like this: my top faves are 10,9,4,5,2,6,8,3,7, and 1. I think that the Sixth Doctor's portrayal by Colin Baker was well acted; I just think that the writers at the time didn't do him justice. I have heard some of the Audios, and they portray him in a much better light. Also, giving Six Melanie Bush as a companion didn't help. I can't stand her! As for the fourth Doctor, I like him because he is the first one I grew up with, and I loved the quirkiness Tom Baker gave to the character. I also liked the humor of number two; it was very subtle, and spoke of a deeper side to the Doctor that I didn't see with the first Doctor. Number Ten has some elements of number two; that is part of the reason why I like him. I like Nine's acidic personality, and his chemistry with Rose. Chris Eccleston is a very good actor in bringing that to the screen in such a short series run, and I wish we could have seen more of Nine. |
