LuvvyDuckTopic: Von Drake's Voice This is in reference to Aquarian Wolf's reply to the last topic. I really loved thelate, great Paul Frees as Von Drake's voice, and it was one of many that he'll be remembered for! ^__^ But how do you all feel about Corey Burton, who's been voicing Drakey in movies and on HOUSE OF MOUSE? While IMHO Paul Frees has no peers, Burton doesn't seem to be doing a bad job. True, there are times when Ludwig's voice pitch is rather higher than the original, as if Frees came back from the dead and huffed off a helium tank. But there were some bits on HOUSE OF MOUSE when Burton was all but CHANNELING the guy! XD | #1 May 22nd 2006, 11:34am

Aquarian WolfI agree with you, brideofbasil. Burton does do a good job. Von Drake's not the only Frees voice he imitates. He also does a great Ghost Host for the Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland. But his Von Drake is higherpitched. Burton also doesn't go off on the weird rants and tangents as much as Frees did. But I don't think anyone could do a better Von Drake now than Burton. "..as if Frees came back from the dead and huffed off a helium tank." ^ That had me laughing. :p "Hello?....Hello?... How are you? ....Fine!....That's good!...Thanks!...How's Sara and the kids?...Fine!...Come over to supper sometime!...I will!..." -Ludwig Von Drake in an echo chamber from "All About Sound Recording." | #2 May 22nd 2006, 11:55am

LuvvyDuck"Hello?....Hello?... I didn't know he did a thing about sound recording. But yes, I DO miss the 'weird rants and tangents' Von Drake was so famous for! *sob* Burton does a good job, but thank God I have the original Drakey on tape. :) | #3 May 22nd 2006, 12:05pm

Werecat BoyHey, let me introduce myself here first. I'm a close friend of AW and a big Von Drake/ Frees fan as well. ;)The quote AW is referring to is from an album Disney released in 1961 called "Professor Ludwig Von Drake". It had 7 tracks on it: 1-Professor Ludwig Von Drake 2-The Spectrum Song 3-The Green With Envy Blues 4-It Gets You 5-Von Drake Variations On The Blue Danube 6-All About Sound Recording 7-An Operatic Version On A Theme From Cinderella "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo." The album was later re-released I think a few years ago on CD at Disneyland where I bought it over DelivEars. In fact, I was the one who sent AW the tracks. ;) If you like to hear them just give me an e-mail and I would be happy to send them to you when I get the chance. Btw, I hope to hang around here in this forum more often, being such the big Von Drake fan that I am. :) | #4 May 24th 2006, 11:04pm

LuvvyDuckHey, many thanks, Centaur Man! :D I would LOVE to hear all those, but I don't have a home computerright now and can't 'do' MP3s or like that. Would it be possible to get them on tape? (I can supply the tape, or if they've got other CDs like that I can order one.) Welcome to the forum, and I do hope you'll be here often! Always nice to hear from another Von Drake/Paul Frees fan. Btw, I have a story in the "Ducktales" section about Ludwig, if you'd like to see it. :) | #5 May 25th 2006, 12:23pm

Werecat BoyI could tell you how I got to order mine. I ordered it through DelivEars (Disneyland merchandising) and they delivered it to me.| #6 May 25th 2006, 10:07pm

LuvvyDuckHaven't been to Disneyland for so long, it's pitiful. Do you have a link to DelivEars, by any chance? (you can e-mail it to me. :) ) |

Werecat BoyI don't think DelivEars has a website. Just call this number: 1-800-362-4533Just tell them you wan the Professor Ludwig Von Drake CD on Demand and they should be able to find it for you. I know you pay using your credit card with them. Hope this info helps. :) | #8 Jun 03rd 2006, 12:51am
