Look, people always say, there's no such things as ghosts!

What do you think? I've heard lots of people talk about ghosts. Saying they've seen some, heard, felt and so on. Some people close to me have claimed to have "experienced" such things. Like shadows, appearances, etc. Some even claim they have a sixth sense...

But, believing in it, would that make you against the belief of Christians? I mean is that against God--like sin? Isn't that against the bible or something?

I think there may be some necroplasmic energy causing some manifestations of spirits but only on rare occasions.

Yes, finally!! Someone posted! hahaha.. It's just that no one did for a long time!

Hehehe.. anyways, getting back to the topic.

"necroplasmic energy"? Well, i was thinking more on the lines of *shakes head* lost wandering souls...? Its a fact, that some people have seen things, but there's never one that was hurt, right? (well, that's to my knowledge, and i may be wrong!)

Okay-

bluegirl62- I don't believe in ghosts; I believe in lost souls (like you said) and energies. Twin energies, solo energies, what have you. There are people that rid homes and other places of energies, and my aunt once had to hire one. They had twin energies in their basement. Negative energies.

Pretty much, I think there are negative and positive energies, but not ghosts. If there is anything like a ghost, it would be an angel. So no, to answer your question, I don't think that would be a sin. My family and I are big Catholics; I'm sure God likes anything like a spirit or soul considered an angel.

However, some people aren't Christian; That's okay. Some people are part of the anti-Christ, and are satanists; others are just atheists. If they believe in ghosts, that's fine with me. Let them. It's what they believe in.

And to Giggles- "necroplasmic energy:" Yep. I've heard of that. Like said above ^^^ my aunt had twin necroplasmic energies in her basement. Quite interesting, if you ask me.

People can say there's no such thing as ghosts until they actually "see" one. Believe me, they're not sweet little angels everyone makes them out to be. They are negative energy as a live human is positive energy. What happens when the two meet? Think of it as electricity. We can't see it but God forbid stick your finger in an outlet.

They can hurt you and you're helpless to do anything. There's no such thing as Quicksilver Flares so forget that idea. Let's just say when you see an evil one, it's already too late!

So sorry to disagree, but I think "lost souls" aren't really much of an angel. Think about it, they were "lost" because they didn't really follow the way or path back, right? They decided to stay here, which really for one, is not the plan of God...

But, I haven't really seen ghosts or the like. Never in my entire 16 years here. But I've felt things... (or was it just my imagination?) But, safe to say, I really don't believe all that much.. Well, except for times when my friends would tell stories about ghosts.. Those would be times that I question if they really are true or not...

i was so afraid when i watched the movie :..(

I think that if people believe in ghosts, they are able to see or feel them... but i think that ghosts are evil ...those who are left behid and youldn't find the way to their "final rest" are evil and if you are afaid of them they will haunt you and make you even more afraid...but if you don't believe in them they have no power over you

Well, i think youre partly right, flyAway... but honestly, I've seen several times... But they haven't "touched" me in any way... or hurt me, for that matter.

they just show themselves at times... But they're all fleeting instances. just passing visions and stuff...

bu, i think that as long as you believe that they can not touch or harm you, i think nothing would happen...

Rinse and Repeat
Well, I'm a believer.

I've never seen an actual ghost, but I've had a few experiences that just didn't seem quite right. I don't agree with the belief that if you don't fear/believe in ghosts they can't hurt you. At one time I didn't believe in ghosts, but I had a personal encounter that drastically changed my opinion. I don't think they're all evil either. There may be some ghosts that have 'unfinished business,' negative or otherwise. I don't know though; those are just my opinions.

I do believe that there are spirits around. Souls that were killed and weren't ready to die so they stay on earth until they are put to rest. Or souls let with unfinished business

I don't know if anyone is still following this thread, but I think I lived in a haunted house once.

I lived there with my family for two years. The house was leased to us by a woman whose husband had recently died (in the house)

Now, old houses make noises- I know. But these weren't just noises. These were footsteps- unmistakable footsteps. We all heard them, though for a while, no one wanted to talk about it. When I was home alone downstairs checking my e-mail, I would hear someone walking around upstairs, going from room to room. My friends heard it too, often. One friend said to me once, "Oh, your parents must have come home." I said, "It's just the house."

One night my sister and I were watching a movie upstairs and heard someone downstairs. Thinking my mom had come home, we called to her. No answer, and we realized her car was still gone. We were really, really freaked, but we never talked about it after that.

Then the worst, my mom was just going to bed when there were noises downstairs. We were all in our beds. It sounded like someone was just stomping around down there. She was so scared she called 911, thinking an intruder was in the house. Then my dad went around downstairs with a knife, before the police were going to come. Noone was there. Noone he could see, anyway. The 911 people must have thought we were kooky- but we ALL heard it.

We didn't talk about it much while we lived there. I think we were all afraid, trying to cope with it as best we could while denying anything was happening. It wasn't until after we moved that we began to talk about it a lot. We had all heard things in the house when we were home alone, it turned out- frequently. It happened alot while we were home too- there were noises from parts of the house where no one was.

I always tried to deny and say it was only the wind because I would have been terrified to live there otherwise.

We didn't have a pet that could have been making those sounds. And it sure didn't sound like isolated creaking, but footsteps traveling from room to room. I don't know what other explanation there could be.

I am glad I'm out of there!

Well, put simply, I believed there IS something out there that could be called ghosts. But, I'm not presemptuous to say that I know what it really is, but I'm not blind enough to say that there's nothing out there. That's all I have to say.

Really, I don't believe in ghosts, but restless spirits.

For example, I do believe that my house may be haunted, but not by a ghost, by an unrested spirit. I'll admit, it really does freak me out on occasion, because of some of the weird stuff that happens, but you really tend to ignore it after a while. Ok, there are these speakers all over my house, in every room, and they'll on occasion play music. They are COMPLETELY disconnected to any source of sound whatsoever. They played music the first night we moved into this house, I remember. And a few other times on occasion. Sometimes durring sleepovers, and very rarely when I'm alone.

We even (By 'we' I mean my friend and I) saw this floating colorful orb on the middle of my hallway. My TV in my room, (You know how on occasions an electronic will, like, 'pop' or crack or something?) well, my TV will crack all the time like someone's walking by, when there's no one in the room but me, and everyone else is asleep. And only me and one of my other friends can hear the weird music comming from the speakers.

And it always feels like someone's watching u. I hate that feeling. And u'll c stuff on occasion 2.

But as I said, i think it's an unrested spirit, not a ghost.

Alaqua Slaughter
Well, I'm pretty sure that everyone has a sixth sense of some sort. Whether or not they choose to believe/use it is the problem with that whole deal. ^^'

I, for one, believe in ghosts and spirits and all that jazz. I was raised that way and most people I know have experienced/heard of instances with ghosts. I have an aunt who is actually a medicine woman (I'm Native Am.) and so we hear all sorts of story's :). I actually have a collection of them written down. Good for entertainment and inspiration, if needed. :D

And because I'm bored, I shall share one XD

There's this one hotel that's haunted (not gonna name which one or where it is) that we used to stay at every summer. My cousin and I were just wandering around and she told me about this boy who had died there. I forgot how, but after the investigation and stuff the hotel blocked the room and the one next to the one he'd died in.

Soon enough, people started complaining about loud footsteps in the hall and someone banging on their doors. They also said that their phone would ring late at night and when they answered it would either be to harsh breathing or the person would hang up. Whoever stayed in the room below where he'd died would be kept up all night by someone running around. People's card key's also wouldn't work sometimes and they'd hear laughing as they tried to get into their rooms.

The hotel sneakily remodeled the rooms that were closed off and opened them up again. The complaints died down and soon things were relatively alright.

After she told me this, WE tried to get into our room, but the card key wouldn't work. We looked at each other and tried a few more times, but it wouldn't work. I finally got annoyed and told him (if it was him) that we knew he was there and to quit messing around or I would kick his butt when *I* died. Oddly enough, the door opened on the next try.

Hahaha.. oh nice story.. scary but quite an ending.. hotels could be one place they would haunt. imagine how many pass by there? well, most especially in your story the boy really died there..

but one place scarier is the hospital.. well, i should know, i'm a nursing student and i'm well aware of what i'd be facing there... not just as part of the job but those added scary things.. since i'm not doing anything i'll tell one of those stories..

during duty hours, two of my friends were left alone at the station for some reason i forgot.. but they really didn't know that they were alone.. in fact, they thought that another of our friends had stayed with them coz there seemed to be somebody in the bathroom. Both of them were sitting by the table of the station.. One of them was waiting for the person to get out coz she badly wanted to pee.. and i do mean badly coz she had just finish her round which by the way, i have another scary incident which i'll tell later...

so after a while of waiting, the person inside seemed in no hurry to get out.. she already heard several flushes of the basin and water running.. but the person was taking so long so she stood up and knocked and asked the person to hurry up.. all she heard was another flush of the basin and the water turning on and off.. both of them were quite baffled.. she kept on knocking but no answer.. so she gave up and sat down.. after a while, we came back and that was when they realized that she was alone in the station.. she looked back to the bathroom it was quiet.. no one had gotten out, that was for sure coz no one passed by her.. we all went to the bathroom and tried the knob.. it opened easily..

the other one was during their rounds, which sad to say i wasn't present.. they were making rounds on their patients and it was nearly night time and most patients were relaxing and watching television.. They entered one room where a guy was admitted. there were two of them who were together.. after greeting the patient, they went through the motions of checking the vitals and the IV fluid and such.. after that they stopped to talk a bit to their patient and suddenly the patient looked baffled.. they asked why.. the patient said why there were only two of them left.. they replied that there were only two of them who did enter the room..

the guy disagreed and said there were three of them.. one of them he wasn't able to see the face coz she came in last.. but he did manage to get a glimpse of long black hair and a white nurse uniform.. and during the course of the checking of the vitals and such the girl was also there helping out the two.. she was standing near the foot of the bed taking notes.. she never said a word and was just writing things down.. after a while she moved to check the IV fluid and then back to the assessment notes.. then she even touched the guys arm to check the pulse before the BP taking.. she felt cold--as in cold.. he never minded her coz it was indeed cold and the aircon was still on... he just noticed when she suddenly wasn't in the room..

the girls were quite scared.. there were indeed stories of a ghost in the floor but they never encountered her.. not until that day.. they returned to the station quite shocked and scared..

Robert Strand

I was at Gettysburg. It was early in the morning and I was at the bottom looking up Seminary Ridge. I was looking at a my map, and I was going to see Devils Den next. I look over my shoulder to see a guy in full civil war drab. Confederate uniform. He looked liked a High ranking officer, maybe a General. He was middle aged, and had a graying beard. The park ranger never mentioned living history guys would be out on the grounds. Here is our conversation.

He Says: "You know, I wish I had one of those."

He really shocked me. I answered "Yeah, they sure do come in handy."

"Where are you from stranger?"

"Mississippi, down in the delta."

"I'm from Virgina myself. It's beautiful country."

"If all the battles in the world, this one changed modern warfare as we know it. It must have been epic."

"You a military man son?"

"Why yes. I signed up for the Army. I ship out to basic training in a month."

"Well God speed solider. May we meet again."

He walks away turning around strolling along with his hands behind his back with a smile in his face. I trun around and see he is gone. Vanished into thin air. Later that day at the Museum I saw a picture of Robert E. Lee. Then I remembered the living history guy earlier that morning. It was him. No mistaking.

The Wordless Epoch

'Kay, so ... yeah ... I've been converted, so to speak. xD

You see, lately I've been getting into, yaknow, the paranormal stuff.

I had this huge discussion about ghosts with my best friend a little while ago. Her house is incredibly haunted, by like ... five ghosts.

There's a man and a woman downstairs, and about three children in her bedroom. The man coughs from his place behind the refrigerator and occasionally talks to the woman. At first, my best friend, her sisters, and their mom figured that it was her husband, their father. But he would never be home when they heard it.

My friend'll be in her bedroom alone, cleaning or something, and she'll hear giggling. One of the things she has in her room will spin; not like if wind were in the room, like someone literally took hold of it and started spinning it. She'll be playing the piano downstairs and someone will be whispering her name. She was in her bedroom and she saw the spinning and called her mom in and the spinning immediately stopped, so her mom basically thought she was insane. Her mom left and the spinning picked up again, and my friend SWORE that she could hear someone giggling. You know, how little kids are like, "Hahaha, she'll never find out. Let's cause some harmless mischief?" Yeah. That kind of giggling.

Likewise, my house is next to a hill. I know, I know, you're thinking, "Oohhh a HILL. Bravo. Not," but here's the thing- It's an old, Native American burial ground. I swear, it's the creepiest thing sometimes. I'm so happy I don't try and sneak out of my house at night, Lol. I'm not saying they're BAD. I'd doubt they'd be 'out to get me' or anything if spirits are there. Wouldn't they be in the afterlife?? I don't know, maybe I'm just imagining things and sound like a complete jerk. Sorry :( Have any of you heard of Ted Silverhands? I'm going to go see him. Maybe he's got some answers for me.

My mom's told me about a long time ago when my dad was on a business trip. He'd been gone for at least two days. I was sleeping in my room, but mom woke up and looked next to her. There was a perfect indent in the pillow and mattress, as though someone was sleeping there. It wasn't like the indent you leave when you get up and your head left a dent in your pillow, and the sheets are matted down where you slept. It wasn't that kind of thing. It was literally like someone was lying there. It really creeped mom out.

Now, QUESTIONNNNN!

Mom's told me several times that apparently if you think about the paranormal world, ghosts, and energies, and all that kind of stuff, it opens pathways, so these things become more ... I don't know ... visual? You can actually sense them? The ghosts come to you? Something like that. Is that true?

Oh. And my previous posts. Don't take those into consideration. I was a crock of crap back then. Hahahahaha, okay maybe not. But really. Ignore them xD Thank you! Kat

Well, the "pathways" are already open. Merely thinking about it will draw them, yes, but it won't be in any physical way. Except, you know, you'll feel it, but it won't be very dramatic. It'll just be an uncomfortable feeling, not much more, maybe you'll hear something too, but maybe not. Talking about them is what makes "them" come. Especially at night. Though, more often than not, they'll simply hang around won't actually do anything. You'll feel them there, though.

About the burial ground :-p: You don't need to worry about it. Most of them will probably have moved on, but pay attention to the "most". Not all of them will be gone. Actually, most of the ones who are still around are probably dormant spirits. Just kinda there. They aren't actively "out to get you" (XD) but they will zone in on you if you turn "bad". Sneaking out (especially if you do so between midnight and four a.m.) will draw them. You're not supposed to be out wandering around at that time anyway. There are things besides ghosts that take strolls at that time and, since you're so near a sacred site, I'd advise you to stay "good" for as long as possible. Believe me, around sacred sites and on reservations, ghosts are on the bottom of the ladder.

But that is an entirely different discussion and I doubt you'll believe me anyway, so that is the extent of my, erm... advice(?). For I am all-knowing. Haha. I'm just going by Southwestern Native American beliefs, by the way, so maybe I'm wrong. Or maybe I'm right. Who knows? Do with it what you will.

And now I feel obligated to tell a story. Bleh. (XD)

Well, this one was told to me by a friend and he was crying while he told it (he's very emotional :-p), so I'm going to go ahead and believe him when he says it's true. It was also verified, so that's also a plus.

His cousin was in Gila River (small piece of advice... stay away from there after midnight XD. Seriously.), which is a rather big reservation just outside of Phoenix. He was doing something at someone's house (don't remember) and because it was late and he didn't want to walk home, his friend lent him a horse to ride. Well, he hopped on and went on his way. When he reached the bridge, he got a bad feeling, but he kept going anyway, thinking it was nothing. Then the horse started freaking out. It wouldn't go another step and when he tried to make it move, it just started buck and whine and basically refused to go closer to the bridge. Then it just froze. The cousin looked up and saw someone in black jeans and a hoodie walking out from under the bridge, his head down and the hood up. He didn't think much of it and was just glad the horse wasn't trying to throw him off anymore. Then, of course, the horse started to go wild again. The cousin looked up and noticed the guy with the hoodie was only a few paces away and was still walking, basically ignoring the horse. He appologized for the horse's fright and said he didn't know what was wrong with it. Then the guy looked up. He and the horse both freaked out then and the horse took off at a gallup, with him urging it to go faster. The guy with hoodie didn't have a face. It was simply black, with twin red glows for eyes. The next morning, the cousin got a phone call from a friend and was told that someone had gotten chopped up the night previous and had been left in a trash bag under the bridge.

The Wordless Epoch

Well, Alaqua, thank you for your advice about not going out after midnight, or just not ... sneaking about outside at 2 in the morning (lol).

I think I'm somewhat sensitive, just because ... I don't know ... but yes, I think what you're saying about the whole "pathways are open, they'll come to you when you TALK about them, especially late at night" thing. Because my friend told me all of her stories and we were watching GhostHunters, and well ... we were talking about ghosts. About their being real. That kind of thing. And we just sensed, "Oh crap, we've gotta go upstairs." The windows were open and we we just getting REALLY creeped out. Our house has been around since probably about the time of the Civil War. So it's kind of creepy, that's all.

Oh, trust me, I'm a paranormal freak, because my friends will send me forwards, and they'll say, "Pass this on, or something bad will happen."

I get especially creeped out when they're accompanied by PICTURES. Like the ones where the guy's got leprosy, or the one where the dude's got fangs and a huge mouth and no eyes and a snakelike nose and spiked hair? I started crying because it was 10 at night and ... ugh. Needless to say, I passed it on.

Ewww, that sounds scary!!!!! Tell your friend that I'm with him on that one.

Alaqua, have you heard of Ted Silverhands, by any chance??

Thanks again!!!!!!! Ta, x, Kat

Ted Silverhands? Can't say I have, but I shall look him up, I guess.

Haha, I never get those e-mails XD. And they're pretty recognizable if I get them on myspace or something (*is a myspace loser*) so I just delete them before opening them.

Yeah, my friend was telling it when we were on the rim of the Grand Canyon and it was around two in the morning and only half of our van was up, so it was just a really scary atmosphere when he was telling it. And, like I said, he's emotional. Haha. Creeped us out, though. 'specially when our driver said it wasn't a ghost his cousin saw, it was the Reaper.

Oh, and if you happen to know any little kids, hang out with them if you really want to get creeped out. I've learned that anyone under ten seems to be able to see ghosts more often than older people. Pay special attention to their "imaginary" friends, too. It's really crazy.

(wow, took me so long to open this again.. had my exams and it has been -HECTIC-!)

but anyways, Wordless Epoch, heard you were converted.. i agree with Alaqua, hours after midnight are the worse.. contrary to popular belief that 12 midnight is the witching hour, it's really 3 am in the morning.. when everyone is deep asleep.. my teacher once told me there was a deeper meaning to it.. but i've sort of forgotten what..

as for talking about "it".. i guess talking about them would really call them to you coz by that time, you'd be an easy target to scare.. it's like drawing them to you coz they know you're already having thoughts about them.. I guess it like, they think, "hey, here's one who'd be easy enough to believe us.. he'll definitely believe all the more when we fool around a bit.." or, well, that sort of thing..

coz i for one, believe that they just fool around a bit.. they can't touch us physically since they're only spirits.. they're gone but can't accept that fact.. so they stay.. as for the chain messages, i've never put much credence in those.. i don't know why.. yes, there's really nothing wrong with passing it on, i guess.. but i never did try coz i really think they're not real.. i do hope you'll get over that soon!

#25 Aug 31st, 3:29am
bluegirl62

oh.. their imaginary friends.. i don't know.. maybe it's because little children have all the time in the world to notice the little details we miss when we grow up and learn that time indeed flies by so fast and we hardly have time to stop and really look around us..

i'm sorry for your friend.. that was indeed so terrifying for him.. but at least he's alright..

oh, and before i forget why i posted another post so soon after the one i did before this... like i was saying in the one before, they like to fool around especially when you're talking about them thing.. well, that happened just as i was submitting my post.. whew.. gave me a bit of scare and a good jerk..

i've known for years that my room's scary.. i've personally experience that time and time again so the one that happened a while ago is quite natural.. while i was typing my post, something was 'wrong' again.. i should know coz i'm very much sensitive to those kind of crap.. believe me, it's not a gift.. but anyways.. i've gotten somehow used to it.. so when i finished my post, and i was going to submit it, the lights flickered off.. and only in my room! i know coz the door's open and my parents room still have their lights on.. then, it just turned back on when my posting was done.. see..?

whew...
