This is what I have to ask: how do you feel about the recent rise of these fics?

I for one feel that they should not be posted in the Disney section just because Jonas Brothers has songs on Disney channel. Don't get me wrong, I like their songs, but I feel this is the wrong place.

Also, most of these fics are badly written or need a believable plot.

So what are your thoughts on the Jonas Bros flood?

Besides, I thought it was part of the unspoken code of fanfiction authors to NOT to put any celeb-fics outside of their respective universes up on the site. Let me put it this way, is anyone going to write a Patrick Stewart "fic" outside of the Star Trek section? (If so, you have issues.) There are other places for these things, FF.net isn't it.

However, with the announcement of a show (which hasn't seemed to air yet), I fear the "report abuse" option is no longer available. Oh well, at least the insanity will be somewhat contained once they get their own category.

I hate this Jobros flood! It's so awful! There is Jonas Brothers where should be Cinderella, Little Mermaid, Chicken Little, the Rescuers. Sometimes I'd even wish that fans didn't gone crazy about these three and didn't wrote fics about dating the Jobros, getting married to them or even having kids with them!

I'm just afraid that these JoBros fics may shut down the site. Real people can sue and these fans don't care.

It wouldn't shut down the site, admin would just add it to the "Do not write about" section in the TOS. (Not that anyone pays attention to that list anyway. ^_^;) Don't worry too much about it, things like this have happened before.

Umm, real people fics are already in that category and look at how ignored that is. Though shutting down the site is the worst-case scenario. If they were given papers, the admins would probably actually have to go through the site and take down the stories.

Man, those JoBros fan fiction stories really get on my nerves! But It's not like we can do much about them now, and I hope that the new section for their TV show comes soon so the problem won't be quite as bad. And besides: If they REALLY want to write about their favorite pop band, then they should write it on BandFiction.Net, not FanFiction.Net (and no, there's no such thing as bandfiction.net)

I am so desperate for that show to come out like now, it's scary because I'm not a fan of the JoBros. Luckily, there haven't so much as before now and Camp Rock is coming out.

The dams are gonna just burst when Camp Rock comes out. We all better bring our rain gear...

I was wondering if anyone actually got a response from reporting and if anything happened. I've reported a lot, but nothing has happened yet.

BTW, I can't believe how lazy they are. There's a Camp Rock section now, but some still post here.

I once got a response in that the story was removed by the admins. But the brat turned around and reposted it with a whining rant about how it was unfair she got taken down DESPITE THE FACT SHE'S BREAKING THE F-ING RULES!

Sorry, but these brats REALLY get on my nerve because they think they don't need to respect the rules. Sometimes I want to send these stories to the JoBros management and see if they'll bring a case against all these brats.

I think saw that story (horribly written, something about being pregnant with one of the Jo Bros). I was surprised that the reporting actually worked. Whenever I report, nothing happens.

They get on my nerves too especially since I just want to read good Disney fanfiction and now all I find are these bad stories. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Yes, I believe that was the one though they all start to run together in my mind. They're usually all the same: some girl (or girls) suddenly meet the JoBros, fall in love, blah blah blah, and it is all mostly very confusing dialogue and no description. However, I can't seem to find the story nor does my review where I explain why it was removed in the first place appear on my review history page. So I guess it got deleted again. Perhaps the author's account was also suspended.

And no, you aren't the only ones. I don't want the Disney category to suffer the same fate as the musical/plays category--where you have to wade through all these illegal fics about McFly or Panic at the Disco or whoever to get to do a fanfic about an actual musical or play.

Very true. If you read one Jo Bros story, you've read them all. I think that specific author made it rated M, but if it did get deleted again, hallelujah.

Well, I usually don't go looking into the M rated section as some of the M stories in Lord of the Rings have scared me off that particular rating. But as I said, the story no longer appears on my review page and the last review on that is from two years ago, so I'm confident that it got deleted. And if so, since it was her second offense, I wouldn't be surprised if her account got deleted as well.
