Topic: No Tale Spin forums?
How come there is no Tale Spin forums in Fanfiction.net so we can suggest ideas for Tale Spin fanfics like some dealing with minor Tale Spin female characters Katie Dodd and Kitten Kaboodle, or suggestions like the wedding of Baloo and Rebecca and the birth of twin bear cubs a few years after the Baloo/Rebecca marriage (unless there are fanfics for these).

Okay, I hope I'm not being too cruel here, but you do realize you have a forum create button in your profile right? If you want something changed and/or made, than it's best if you just do it yourself If you're just spreading the word about how you want to start one than more power to you, but you need to be clear about it not ask a question.

To expand on THAT, 'suggesting ideas' are fic requests and have been outlawed by the TOS. (LONG history on that one, review boards and forums got cluttered in mass amounts of spam. Should'a seen the Sonic section way back when, when it was full of "Rite A Stori 'bout mah Karicter!" blurbs) Be careful on how you toe the line. Discussions of fics are fine, saying 'Why don't you write this?' is not. (Unless it's a 'telephone' fic. Those are always fun.)

Now generatin' interest in a forum is another matter completely. Wanna know why we haven't touched Pirates Sparrow and Turner's topic? 'Cause it was blatant spam that's been posted on at least a dozen other forums out there. (And if the creator of that topic happens to be reading this, please don't do it again in the future.) You've got the right idea, approach groups that are more likely to be interested in the topic, PARTICIPATE (That's a biggie) in the discussions, do not leave the image of a door-to-door salesman with the other readers, avoid the Misc. sections (Sad but true, they tend to die after about a month or so, 'cept in rare cases.)

One of the best things to do is review, review, review. Leave actual critique, don't advertise yourself and slowly but surely you'll build up a small interested base that'll flock over to your forums out of curiosity. Now that doesn't always work but remember, advertise on a review and ya won't gain any respect.

Holy flippin' beans, where am I? Anyone seen the topic? Anyone?

Okay so I got a little sidetracked, long story short.

-Ya gotta roll up your sleeves and do it yourself.

I...I really didn't answer your question, did I? o_0

Brent-Ka does have a point. Just make your own forum and take his advice. Best of luck!

I'm wondering the same thing. Considering there are alot of Tale Spin fanfics on this site alone and my pen name is the proof that I'm crazy and used to watch the show.

Well if there are "a lot" of Tale Spin fanfics on this site, then you need to contact the administration. That's how we created the American Girl section under Books. You send an e-mail saying that there is an interest in a Tale Spin category, send them links to stories written to prove there is an interest and if they deem it worthy, they'll create the section.

Cool, I wasn't aware of that. I was wondering how FFN deemed what should have a section or not.

Yes, as I said, I learned it when I helped create that section. As long as there is proven interest, they create a section. It would be stupid to create a section for something that would end up having a grand total of one story.

It's happened. Several times in fact.

For those interested, Fanfiction(dot)net has released a new e-mail address to send requests for categories to: categories(at)fanfiction(dot)com.

Good luck!
