Vogue StarTopic: FF Help! Due to my brainless boasting about being a "pro" at ffx and x-2, i got bombarded with emails asking for help. Need some help? Here's the place to ask, and maybe this time i can sent my advice to the right people...(i sent help messages to the wrong people... how dumb..) Or do you have any hints/ tips you want to share? I've got some if you want some...(there i go again..) |

heaven-monumentOk then... this question's been bugging me for a very long time.Let's assume you've beaten Braska's Final Aeon, the aeons and Yu Yevon. Do you get to play the game again, or does the 'GAME OVER' thing with 'To Zanarkand' in the background loop endlessly until you reset your console? If that is true, then you can't actually 'beat' FFX. If not, I can't wait to, um, wait, for it to reload. -begins daydreaming- Taking on the early bosses when I have half the Sphere Grid mastered would be fun... and Evrae. I'd take him down in a couple of hits... and then I could get the Sun Crest again! And I could get Anima (because I stuffed up the Macalania Cloister... bloody Dark Shiva!)! And now I'm ranting. -stops daydreaming- Thanks for your time. | #2 Jul 12th 2007, 12:55am

Vogue StarErm... I'm pretty sure that the game starts over after the Zanarkand loop. You can't keep your abilities/equipment second time round either like you can in ffx-2, you have to start all over again from scratch if you wanna play it again!!! I think that answers your question *sweats* to be honest i can't remember that well... haven't played the ending in a while!! I should od really, if im writing a novelization!!! |
heaven-monumentaww... that sucks. if that is so, why bother 'finishing' the game? apparently there's a glitch after you beat dark ifrit (this is Int/PAL, if you're wondering) - you can slip past those two men and return to Home - thereby making the game start over from there with your current stats/abilities! yay! (coincidentally, evrae is straight after that. how i loathe him... (him? her?)) |
Vogue StarHmm... i never knew about that glitch before. I was probably too busy trying to pound ifrit... hehehe. You know a good way to beat all the dark aeons is to use Yojimbo against them. If you have a " good relationship value with him"; i.e. if you don't let him die in battles and pay him lots of gil everytime you use him, then there a higher chance of him using Zanmato for his first move. If he does, then it's bye-bye evil aeons!!! |
heaven-monumentthat's what i'm trying at the moment, to beat dark shiva (255 agility? aargh!!!) - i paid him over 1,000,000 gil and still got wakizashi (which, ironically, did 99,999 dmg). i often get zanmato for only 1,000 gil, or even a free zanmato! this bloody lvl. 5 zanmato rating is killing me! i don't have a chance!maybe i'll just pay him more. (tip: if you pay him 1,025G, or 2,049G, you'll get more motivation for less cost. it works out as a mathematical thing, eg. 1-2G gives you x affection, and 513-1024G gives you y affection.) |
Vogue StarErm.. yeah. I don't really get maths. Although, i beat dark shiva without Yojimbo *grins smugly!* i only used him for Anima, bahamut and the three magus sisters. |
heaven-monumentwell, aren't you special. what'd you have, 255 accuracy? because you'd need it. i simply CAN'T hit her. (although my highest acc stat now is, like, 80. i'd have to beat bloody HORNET in order to raise the stat...)do you remember how much you paid yoji to slice d.bahamut, et al, in two? |
Vogue StarI think that it was somewhere in the region of 200,000 gil. Twas a long time ago..i can't remeber for sure. Now i think of it actually, im pretty sure bahamut is more money than the others... also i remember the success rate of Zanmato sucked and i had to save beforehand and start over about 80 times ( |
heaven-monumentwell, when i have ixion fighting hornet (ixion has 130-something acc, i think), i should be fine. and all of my aeons now break the damage limit since i got the world champion. so, i can fight with ifrit now! yay!!| #10 Jul 31st 2007, 12:47am

Vogue StarOne piece of advice i could give you when fighting the dark aeons with your own is that when you summon your own and unleash their overdrive your enemy with get LOADS of turns and slaughter your party if you're not prepared... Although you probably knew this, duh! i just let Tidus smack them hard using quick hit and he was strong enough to do 99,999 damage without the aeons. I just used my aeons when an ememy overdrive was imminent. Have you beat dark Yojimbo yet? He is by the far the most annoying ememy ever. You have to fight him like four times!| #11 Aug 03rd 2007, 1:57am

heaven-monumentfive times, actually. but i'm not interested in beating all the dark aeons - I only want to beat shiva to get anima and the m. sisters, and yoji for the equipment (i forgot that d.valefor drops BHPL and ribbon armour - i got moomba duo for lulu! not impressed!). i'm actually using a friend's save, and leveled up immensely from there. i have finished between 4-5 sections of the grid with each character. my own save is crap - i just beat flux, and my stats are woeful.maybe i'll just wait until i get 60 dark matters, then make 'Grand Slam' for wakka. THEN i'll unlock ultima buster and make 'abraxas' for yuna, and then i should be okay. i have NO intention of playing any more blitzball, dodging lightning, capturing butterflies, or fighting d.bahamut. sending belgemine i can handle. XP and only two characters have celestial weapons (you've probably noticed it by now) - auron and rikku. god bless them. | #12 Aug 03rd 2007, 2:02am

Vogue StarOh, i see what you're doing now. I didn't bother with the butterflies for the simple reason that i thought Kimahri's weak. Have you ever noticed that he's always weaker despite having high strength stats? He's one of those characters in final fantasy that i loathe because he has the 'blue magic' abilities, which i always find pointless as most enemies are immune to their own attacks... so why copy them? Im moaning now aren't i?| #13 Aug 07th 2007, 1:45am

heaven-monumentyes. yes you are. XPi really think they should change the ronso rage, so that all blue magic is available to him at all times (at some MP cost, much like Quina from FFIX. eg. Jump: 5MP. Aqua Breath: 23MP. Nova: 99MP.), but in OD, it becomes double power for no MP cost. Most people I know sent him down lulu's path (me included) for several reasons: 1. no locks in place, unlike wakka's, tidus' or rikku's. 2. he starts with 78 MP (?) and has reasonable starting MAG. 3. it's always useful to have two black mages. and then i realised it was a stupid idea... 1. auron's really quite slow, and most of kimahri's weapons come with piercing included. i think the idea was to make kimahri the 'other' auron by sending him down tidus' or wakka's paths. (did you notice that tidus, in the standard SG, has NO MAG or MDEF upgrades? none whatsoever!) 2. he ends up with the worst MAG after a while. 3. lulu hasn't got great DEF in her section which makes kimahri an inadequate 'tank', but her fantastic MDEF makes up for it. so, if i start a new game, i'll chuck him down rikku's path. two thieves are much better than two black mages, IMO. | #14 Aug 20th 2007, 4:27am

Vogue StarI know what you mean about blue magic using mp! But reminding me about Quina was probably a BAD idea... i can't describe how much i HATE that character, she's one i'd rather forget! I also did exactly what you did with Kimahri with Lulu's path first. Then like you i realised it was a bad idea, cause he sucks big time that way! Then i tried Auron's path, but then he was TOOOOOOOO slow. Wakka's was next, which didn't really do much in terms of development. Rikku's was the path i finally chose for him, and it is kind of the best option. Sure, his strength isn't developed all that much until the later stages of the game when you can branch off.(Yes i did notice that there is a severe lack of upgrades 4 Tidus, really annoying!!!) BUT, having a character that also has the 'USE' ability in the earlier stages of the game, before you are reunited with Rikku, is really helpful! (Still can't believe you picked the same paths in the same order as me.. wierd, huh?)| #15 Aug 23rd 2007, 1:48am . Edited Aug 23rd 2007, 1:48am

heaven-monumentyeah, two rikkus are better than two lulus.the only problem is that you've got a couple of locks in place, if i remember rightly you've got a lvl.2 lock, or two lvl.1 locks. i'd think that you'd make rikku's path by the time you get to mi'ihen or something... | #16 Aug 23rd 2007, 5:01am
