BriiiingTopic: Friday the Thirteenth Along with 6/6/06 and Halloween, this is another one of those quasi-gothic notable events. Anyone here a paraskavedekatriaphobe?| #1 Apr 13th 2007, 11:35pm
Rusty-KnivesNot at all, although, my birthday is next friday, and it's the same day as hitler's. Also the day of the Columbine Massacre. |
Mecha ScorpionRusty's date of birth is linked to mass amounts of suffering, who could have predicted that. But the Columbine massacre was intentionally done on Hitler's birthday, so that's not much of a coincidence. |
Rusty-Knives*shrug* It's also the same date as the death of Mitchell Henderson, some guy that became famous to all the /b/tards for killing himself over losing his iPod. |
Mecha ScorpionWHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? Are you SERIOUS? There must have been more than songs on that Pod, or maybe it was... I refuse to accept that there was nothing more to it than that. |
Rusty-KnivesYeah, I'm serious. They had no idea what was wrong with him. Here's the URL to the ED article about him. You won't find him on wikipedia, I don't think, because he wasn't that important. http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/An_hero Apparently he was also having a bad day. Must have been one hell of a bad day. |
Mecha ScorpionLike encyclopedia dramatica is going to tell the truth about him! Do you actually trust that site? It's basically all made-up nonsense. |
Rusty-KnivesDumbshit, yes. I'm not trusting ED, I'm trusting the /b/tards. If you don't know what a /b/tard is, get more internets. |
Mecha ScorpionOK, fine, I'll get more Internets. What are /b/tards? Is /b/ supposed to signify the HTML bold code or something? |
Living in DystopiaI'm afraid that I do not follow. Decoding your plebeian use of language is extremely vexing.| #10 Apr 15th 2007, 3:53pm
Mecha ScorpionIn the unlikely event that you show up to actually respond to this, Dextra, Rusty and I were talking about some kid who committed suicide because he lost his iPod. Rusty brought up something involving "/b/tards," whatever those may be, and I tried to find out.| #11 Apr 15th 2007, 4:25pm
Rusty-KnivesNope, /b/ is the name of the image board they hang around on 4chan.org (http://img.4chan.org/b/imgboard.html (UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU SEE ON THAT SITE IF YOU USE THAT URL, THAT PARTICULAR BOARD IS ALSO WELL NOTED FOR IT'S VARIOUS TYPES OF PORN. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)... notorious for it's obssessive members. Like this one /b/tard who actually called Mitchell's parents, pretending to BE him. They caught it on tape too. Some of these guys are just so insensitive. So basically, a /b/tard is someone who lurks around /b/. | #12 Apr 16th 2007, 3:25am
Mecha Scorpion4chan? I can't say I expected better of you, Rusty, but... seriously, have you no shame?| #13 Apr 16th 2007, 3:50am
Rusty-KnivesMecha, I don't lurk around 4chan at all, just sort of a passer by. ED is the one that tells me most of the crap that the /b/tards go through. And yes, I DO look at some of the threads on /b/. None of the rather... twisted stuff though.| #14 Apr 16th 2007, 8:29pm
Mecha ScorpionHmmm... suspicious, still, but whatever.| #15 Apr 17th 2007, 12:26pm
Rusty-KnivesYup, that's suspicious.| #16 Apr 17th 2007, 8:36pm
Mecha ScorpionSo how about that university shooting that happened here in America? You may not have heard of it...| #17 Apr 18th 2007, 3:52am
Rusty-KnivesDude, that was all over 4chan recently (possibly the only thing any of the /b/tards are actually discussing in a civilized fashion). Apparently, there is a rumour going around that the killer was a /b/tard. I want to find out from a reliable source if that is true... would you happen to know, Mecha?| #18 Apr 18th 2007, 5:06am
CuddleMe KittyMecha, it's all over the news EVERYWHERE. It's impossible not to have heard about it unless you live in a cave on some isolated mountain.| #19 Apr 18th 2007, 8:34am
BriiiingI haven't have time to look in to it, but my friend and I were discussing it after school today. She was talking about how all the news sources portrayed the boy as a 'bad seed' who had no logical reason to do this. She disagrees, saying that he's just as much of a victim and that society could change it's ways so that events like this would be reduced. I myself don't think there's much hope.Did anyone follow the story of the latest shooting in Quebec? I read the killer's blog, before it was taken down. Poor guy. | #20 Apr 18th 2007, 7:28pm
BriiiingOh, by the way. Hitler and Rusty's birthday aren't the only special events this Friday. The widespread popularity of 4/20 celebrations in the U.S. has brought about calls advocating for the reform of American marijuana laws. The 420 Campaign urges individuals to become involved in the political process and the drug policy reform movement. Specifically, the Campaign calls for leveraging "April 20th as a focal point every year to concentrate pressure on Congress to legalize marijuana."[6] In addition to contacting state and national legislators, people can take action by supporting organizations—such as NORML and MPP—that represent the interests of marijuana users and other concerned citizens. That's taken from wikipedia, by the way. | #21 Apr 18th 2007, 7:34pm
Mecha ScorpionOK, it's just that I hadn't heard about the killer until people told me. I have the theory he did it because when his girlfriend broke up with him (which actually did happen), he was guaranteed the loss of any sex he might ever have again. Think about it. South Asian man, from a culture where women are treated with hostility and contempt and sex taken for granted. Put him in America, where sex is constantly in everyone's face yet atop a pedestal. And what man ever killed himself that knew he would get laid the next day? I'm not trying to joke about it.| #22 Apr 19th 2007, 4:57pm

Rusty-KnivesAh, ok. I see your point, Mecha.*ahem* Has anyone seen any of the drama going on at the Facebook.com memorial thread? I was there with the other EDiots when we decided to start some drama over it. If you ever find that thread, my name is Mitchell Henderson (For baiting and Trolling's sake). My approach was to take a "sensitive" side to the argument, and encourage the more over-zealous of the anti-encylopedia dramatica advocates to "talk"(translation: Be trolled mercilessly on IRC) to the ED admins on arbchat(private IRC chat for complaints against ED and stuff. WARNING! IF YOU ARE EVER INVITED TO AN ARBCHAT, DO NOT GO.) Also, a fellow EDiot has started a troll account for drama over his fake internet death(He's portraying a selfishly oversensitive emo-kid).I'm helping the drama out there too. | #23 Apr 19th 2007, 9:51pm

Rusty-Knives^ Above post was referring to starting drama on the VTech memorial threads. ^| #24 Apr 19th 2007, 9:52pm

Mecha ScorpionUm... OK, I don't have much interest, but that sounds cool.| #25 Apr 20th 2007, 3:46am
BriiiingFascinating, Rusty. It's really nice to hear that your internet life is so engaging.| #26 Apr 20th 2007, 6:31pm
Rusty-KnivesYes, it sure is. I'm a born and bred nerd, so there's no use trying to fight it. My internet life is just as interesting as my real one, if not more.| #27 Apr 21st 2007, 2:02am
Mecha ScorpionMy real life is probably more interesting although less crazy.| #28 Apr 22nd 2007, 4:06pm
BriiiingI consider my life to be incredibly boring, however cinematic it sometimes seems. The one thing that makes it all bearable is my quasi-schizophrenic delusions, pathological lying, and hypochondria. And I've recently re-learned how to be a self-centered brat, so that's turning out pretty well. I think my English teacher is beginning to wish that I would just randomly drop dead.My idea of fun, though, is going up to the uber-wealthy part of town to mock the habits and architectural styles of rich people. And if I'm feeling bored enough, I stand in mall balconies and drop plastic foliage from the window baskets on people walking underneath. Sometimes they smile. | #29 Apr 22nd 2007, 4:24pm
Mecha ScorpionMy idea of fun is to force emotionally oriented people into intellectual arguments and then, when they fail and grow frustrated, ask them why they can't be as good as whoever they most admire. Just kidding. But I am a very more intellectually oriented person. That doesn't mean I'm a genius, although I am, it just means that I tend to reason using my brain more than my heart.| #30 Apr 22nd 2007, 4:49pm
BriiiingI actually think it's scientifically impossible to reason using ones heart. I strongly dislike that expression, for some irrational reason.I'm eccentric to the point of mildly inconveniencing insanity. I usually act based on impulses, which is usually a problem. And my general behavior is like a toned down version of bipolar disorder. On bad days, I'm not capable of anything. On others, I could do anything I set my mind to. The way my life is run is always dependent upon my mood. But I'm not fragile either; that's a common misconception. I simply have to put up with more volatile brain chemistry, and I manage fairly well. | #31 Apr 22nd 2007, 5:02pm
Rusty-KnivesI like to do that quite often aswell, Mecha. Although I resort to much pettier means of IRL trolling. And you guys seem to have a lot of fun, although yours is the quieter type, whereas mine is more likely to be setting off a bomb on my best mate's back lawn. | #32 Apr 23rd 2007, 5:41am
Mecha ScorpionOK, fine then, make decisions based on the heart. I think you need a mix or else you're either a bipolar wreck or a heartless cruel bastard. And Rusty, I do have a great deal of fun (although I doubt many people would say they don't), I just take pleasure in criticism and random humor. Like saying "your mother was/is/did/etc" to every single comment I hear.| #33 Apr 23rd 2007, 2:17pm
Briiiing I just take pleasure in criticism and random humor So do I. Let's be friends. To amuse myself, I also walk up and down escalators repeatedly. It's better than racing turtles or whatnot, but not by much. Most of my amusement comes from entertaining acquaintances who are either hopelessly 'normal' or simply very withdrawn. Usually they laugh, but it's mostly from "what the hell is she doing?" rather than "that's funny". I think. Mostly I try to keep my randomness to a minimum, because I get sick of that "what the hell?" reactions that most people have, | #34 Apr 23rd 2007, 7:05pm . Edited Apr 23rd 2007, 7:27pm

Mecha ScorpionI guess we already are friends sort of. That reminds me of this weird idea for a random story I once had. One part contained two guys who were sitting next to each other, and somebody else mentioned pizza. One guy turned to the other and said, "I like pizza." The other guy said, "Me too, let's be friends." They kept forging friendships over the most elementary and simple things to like, from food to H20.I was walking backwards down an up escalator at Barnes and Noble, but some employee guy told me to cut it out. I was tempted to 'fight the power' and throw him into the bestseller display case, but I settled for a contrite grin as I continued up the escalator. Then I told his supervisor that he had told me to bite him and then hid in the music section until it all got straightened out. Just kidding. That never happened. | #35 Apr 23rd 2007, 7:34pm

BriiiingCool. I'm writing a story that features a lesbian couple, a Dr. Suess inspired small town, a ritual of exile, an abyss, a tribe who lives underground, and finally a bittersweet ending. It's trippy-- I based it on a dream I had. Oh. I totally believed you for one moment. And it made me laugh. | #36 Apr 23rd 2007, 8:44pm

Rusty-KnivesYou guys have a lot of fun, as I can tell. Anyway, I got a free computer from school today. I'm gonna be setting it up so that I can host my files on it. | #37 Apr 23rd 2007, 10:17pm . Edited Apr 23rd 2007, 10:18pm

Mecha ScorpionWhy'd you get a free computer at school? That story sounds OK.| #38 Apr 24th 2007, 12:31pm
BriiiingOK is such a mundane word. Aren't there better ways of saying 'mediocre'?| #39 Apr 24th 2007, 7:49pm
Mecha ScorpionFine then, "intentionally weird and bizarre but possibly interesting."| #40 Apr 25th 2007, 3:52am

Rusty-KnivesThe school throws out all the older computers when they get too slow to run the latest software. The computer's not fast in any way, but it will do me for what I'm going to use it for. I got mandrake 9.2 running on it, so it's as secure as a mac while 10 times faster, with the functionality of a windows PC.| #41 Apr 25th 2007, 8:36am
Mecha ScorpionI wish my school did that. Our computers are pretty recent, though.| #42 Apr 25th 2007, 12:09pm
Rusty-KnivesYeah... um... it's a pentium 3 celeron, so it's slow when windows is running. Fast with Mandrake running though.| #43 Apr 25th 2007, 4:52pm
BriiiingEverything that pops into my head is purposely strange. See, before allowing any vestige of thought to enter my brain, I have to make sure it is suitably weird. God forbid that I ponder NORMAL things, like whether I should maybe stop to eat once in a while, or the need to wear a coat when the temperature is 26 below zero. Weather, after all, is much too mundane.| #44 Apr 25th 2007, 6:40pm
Mecha ScorpionYou could just question the abnormality of not eating/getting frostbitten on purpose and think about it that way.| #45 Apr 25th 2007, 6:43pm
BriiiingTrue. I'll consider that in a next life when I have a new set of toes.| #46 Apr 25th 2007, 6:54pm
Rusty-KnivesYup. You do that, Ms Suicidal.| #47 Apr 25th 2007, 10:37pm
Mecha ScorpionI liked how you said "Ms" as if there was any uncertainty whether Claire was married or not. Although she might have married Anthony Kiedis without telling him about it, or more likely a giant inflatable penguin with eyeliner.| #48 Apr 26th 2007, 3:53am
Rusty-KnivesNah, I referred to her as a Ms because she's too young to be married.| #49 Apr 26th 2007, 9:08am
Mecha ScorpionMs is ambiguous. Miss I think is the proper term for any girl not yet married who chooses to reveal that info.| #50 Apr 26th 2007, 1:08pm
