because the only people that have guns in the U.K are the crooks and the police. back in the nintys the uk passed a bunch of laws that prohibite the owning of weapons. people even had to give up their hunting rifles and those that they had inhirated from their forfathers.

I think with proper paperwork you are still allowed to own shotguns which, the definition of shotgun in the law actually just requires the weapon to have a certain barrel length.

I wouldnt say I was for or against guns and to be honest I dont really no much about this subject. What I think though, is that taking guns away wont make any difference. You take a gun away from a teenager and he gets out his knife. There is no way to stop violence and almost everything these days can be used as a weapon. We will always have a problem with or without guns, so my stupid fuckin' hippy gun hating mother can go jump in a river and drown!
