zenfryTopic: CHATROOM Lol, I just realized I don't have one of these... well here it is! |
white lotusYay! Now I can spam it! (Nah, I'm joking.)Actually, thanks to Mr. Zurh, for the Al Bhed translator... Because I know about as much Al Bhed as I know Finnish - that is, very, very little. (And isn't it a pain hunting for Primers in the game? I'm in the process of finishing FFX-2 for the first time, and it's a little annoying when you're trying to read Al Bhed and there's gaps in your words... Digging for Primers is... Urgh. But Al Bhed are cool, so it's all good.) Oh, and I've got a question, Zurh! (I'm gonna call you by your character names, is that okay?) Why has your character got red eyes and black hair? I thought Al Bhed typically had green eyes and fair hair. Or is it a plot device that you're going to keep a secret for now...? |
Knight of Firethat's fine with me if you call me by my character's name as for your question he has black hair because he dies it black, as for his eyes it's contacts. He does all of this becuase he is trying to hid the fact that he is Al bhed. | #3 Jan 07th 2007, 12:34pm

white lotus(Sorry I posted twice... My dial-up connection died just as I hit "Submit Reply" and something weird happened...)Oh, I get it... Well, it's working, because he's got Keia's got no idea that he's an Al Bhed. And the secret's safe with me. *Shh...* |
zenfryRed eyes are not exactly the way to draw attention away from oneself.... lol |
Knight of FireI know but I like the color :) and Paine had red eyes too and no one seemed to notice so it can't be that strange |
white lotusRix's got a point... Very few Final Fantasy characters have red eyes. And somehow, they always manage to be the cool ones: Paine, Lulu, (Vincent Valentine)... Makes you wonder exactly where they come from and whose genes they inherited. |
zenfryThey're all related! they look similiar anyways, they could be... |
white lotusPaine and Lulu... Maybe... Very... Distantly related. Have either of you played Final Fantasy XII yet?| #9 Jan 11th 2007, 12:11am

zenfryI've played them all except XI, at least I think I have, the Japanese translation to American thing has switched up the numbers quite a bit.| #10 Jan 11th 2007, 8:02am

white lotusYou guys are so lucky! I live in Australia, so I'll have to wait until at least mid-February before I can play... *sigh*| #12 Jan 12th 2007, 2:24am

white lotusCool... It's summer over here at the moment, and I'm on holidays. I'm also currently awaiting offers for University places, so just as a word of warning, I'll probably have to resign from this roleplay sometime in late Februrary so I can start University in early March.| #14 Jan 13th 2007, 5:44pm

zenfryWell that sucks... that reminds me of a quote... Life sucks but at least she don't bite | #15 Jan 13th 2007, 6:46pm
white lotusHehe... I like that.Hey Rix, I know this Role Play takes place during the Eternal Calm, but what I'm not sure of is whether this is *immediately* after Yuna defeats Yu Yevon, or two years later, during Final Fantasy X-2, or even *after* Final Fantasy X-2... Could you clarify, please...? | #16 Jan 14th 2007, 6:21pm
zenfryI'm sorry, I thought I put this information in general plot... This story takes place approximatley 45 years after the events in X-2, so all of the characters from the games are basically dead, except maybe a few of the kids... like Pacche (I realize this maybe a little off, but I'm guessing the average lifespan of a human in this game would be 45-60.) As for some of the world events that have taken place during the years.. I'll post that a bit later in General Plot. Again I'm really sorry, I was sure i had posted the info... | #17 Jan 14th 2007, 6:27pm . Edited Jan 14th 2007, 6:38pm

white lotusHey, no sweat, it's cool. Thanks for that! ^^| #18 Jan 15th 2007, 1:44am

white lotusSorry... I just realised something. If we can assume that this takes place 45 years after X-2, and that the majority of the characters are dead, etc., then we all have a bit of inconsistancy where our characters are concerned...I can't be an ex-Summoner, because they wouldn't have been anymore around for a good few decades or so, and in the same vein, Rix can't be an ex-Guardian. Home would have been LONG gone, so Zurh can't be a survivor of the Yevonite assult either, or he'd be at least fifty-odd years old - that's if he was around ten at the time it happened, and *whoa* that'd make one *long* grudge... O.o So... Yeah. I'm confused. Though, I'm also thinking it'd probably make more sense if this took place maybe right after the conclusion of FFX...? Just a suggestion. Please ignore me if I'm wrong (which I have a tendency to be, a lot of the time). | #19 Jan 16th 2007, 3:46pm . Edited Jan 16th 2007, 3:51pm

Knight of FireYa, I agree with Keia it dosn't make alot of sense if it takes place 45 years after X-2 with all our characters history being related toward the same time the game happened. Sooo ether we rewrite our history to make more sense of the RGP or change the game time to right after X or X-2 | #20 Jan 17th 2007, 12:24pm
zenfryI didn't think about that, I put a lot more thought into the actual events of the storyline then into the time frame... but I suppose you're right. But then if a new big enemy appears, woldn't it be the job of the already famous heroes to defeat it.... hmmm.... all right then... the story will take place about a year after the events in X. As for the original characters... we'll just have to see as the roleplay goes along won't we?Alright then, anything else I missed? A year is a bit much but I figure it'd be easier to work with in the long run. | #21 Jan 17th 2007, 2:25pm . Edited Jan 17th 2007, 2:27pm

white lotusAww... The default heroes should be given a break, don't you think? XD Nah, a year seems fine to me. I don't think you missed anything else! Onwards with the Role Play, ne? *charge!* | #22 Jan 17th 2007, 2:29pm

white lotusRandom Post: Finally got my hands on Final Fantasy XII! *celebrates*Currently three hours into the game, and lovin' it! (They've just been chucked into Nalbina Prison) P.S: I've fallen madly in love with Balthier. | #30 Feb 15th 2007, 4:02pm
zenfrylol it's a fun game alright...| #31 Feb 15th 2007, 4:35pm
white lotusHaha... Did you have as much difficulty figuring out what to do with Gambits as I did? The new battle system's strange, but once you get the hang of it, all you gotta do is steer them near an enemy and let 'em hack and tear while you go off and get a drink or something... XD| #32 Feb 16th 2007, 1:06am
NebThauDragmireYa, I beat this game. It was amazing!I loved the battle system! Mainly 'cause fleeing doesn't take five minutes. You just hold down the button and RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. And I loved the gamibt system, and the fact that you can give any weapon to any character, provided you have the licence. So, I've got Balthier with a sword and shield. It's really funny looking, but he's the best physical fighter in my party. | #33 Feb 16th 2007, 5:59am
white lotusOh yes, fleeing is hilarious... Especially when you run from an ambush of Skeleton enemies or something, and you're watching your mini-map at the same time: All these red dots after your life! (I just completed - ? - the Lhusu Mines, and running from Ba' Gamnan was nothing short of terrifying - it looked like virtually every fiend in the Mines was after me! And Lamont, you coward! *shakes fist* (Naw, I like him. Classic bishie, he is ^^)) Yes, and all this with the weapons... I have to admit, it's a bit bewildering, but a lot of fun. I've actually kept Balthier with his guns, because I'm a sucker for aesthetic beauty and he looks damn *fine* with one. (The attack power of his guns is also a tad misleading. It says AP is about 16, but the weapon's actually doing about the same amount of damage as Fran's bow, which has an AP of 27. Weird. But cool.) And seeing as you've beaten the game, would it be okay if I occasionally asked you for pointers andn such? I've got a feeling I'm going to need help sooner or later... omg, what a rant. | #34 Feb 16th 2007, 4:31pm . Edited Feb 16th 2007, 4:32pm
NebThauDragmireSure, I'd love to help! The reason that Guns do as much damage as Bows is 'cause the enemy's defence is ignored during damage calculation. Makes it very convenient when facing an enemy with high defence! Plus, Guns are 100% accurate. I love Lamont! He has unlimited Hi-Potions later in the game. Here's something fun to do: Watch Balthier run from the side. It's really funny looking. | #35 Feb 17th 2007, 2:27pm
NebThauDragmireQuestion: If Rin shows up, who's going to roleplay him?| #36 Feb 18th 2007, 12:01pm
zenfryHmm... I'll do it, unless someone else really wants to be him.| #37 Feb 18th 2007, 1:19pm
white lotusTo Tariam: Thank y00! Thanks for the explanation about guns - makes perfect sense now ^^ And I look forward to unlimited Hi-Potions. Oh, and watching Balthier run from the side is like watching... A gay man running around in a pair of tight tights. XDTo Rix: Go ahead. I think it's all cool with everyone. | #38 Feb 18th 2007, 5:26pm
zenfryHmmm... I'm not to fond of the ranged weapons, I took away Balthier's gun and gave him the rod. He actually looks petty cool with it. I gave Vaan a lance, or was it a spear? Eh I forget what it's called, He doesn't look to cool, but he does do a lot of damage...| #39 Feb 18th 2007, 5:31pm
white lotusJa. Vaan with a lance rocks. And he does a kick-** victory flourish with it when you win a boss battle. Ashe is pretty good with poles too.| #40 Feb 18th 2007, 5:34pm
zenfryLet' see here.. I gave Penelo a dagger... Basch a sword... and Fran a katana... and that about rounds up my team...| #41 Feb 18th 2007, 5:37pm
white lotusOkay, I gotta list mine, now that you've listed yours. Vaan: Javelin. Penelo: Staff. (she casts my magic, and I love her. XD) Balthier: Gun. Fran: Bow. Basch: Sword/Axe/Hammer, depending on my mood. Ashe: Sword/Axe/Pole, depending on my mood. I haven't reached the stage in the game where I've been able to get my hands on a katana yet, but damn, I'd imagine Fran would look like some War Goddess with one. (Scary...) But hey, Rix. If you've got all these melee weapons, how do you take care of flying enemies? | #42 Feb 18th 2007, 5:40pm . Edited Feb 18th 2007, 5:45pm
NebThauDragmireMy Team:Game #1: Vaan: Don't use Penelo: Bombs Balthier: Sword + shield Fran: Don't use Basch: Don't use Ashe: Bow (Yah, nice well rounded team. Beat the game with it.) Game #2 Vaan: Dagger Penelo: Katana Balthier: Gun Fran: Crossbow/Rod (depending) Basch: Spear Ashe: Bow/Staff (depending) As for victory dances, I love Balthier's with sword and shield. He plants his sword in the ground and does this little bow thing. Made me laugh. | #43 Feb 18th 2007, 10:05pm
