midnights-daughterMD47Topic: Who's out there? So, tell me, who's out there that wants to put their thoughts in?~midnight |

Jeannie-ReddOk, I absolutely LOVED the show and was sad when it ended and I own all 5 season on dvd so I'm glad I can watch it whenever I need my Alias fix. =PHere's a question: Did anyone else feel that the show 'jumped the shark' as it were with the 3rd season? If so was it the whole 'Syd losing two years of her life' that did it or the 'Lauren' plot??? Or was it something completely different?? | #2 Jun 04th 2007, 11:58am

midnights-daughterMD47The fifth season...I'm sorry...but it sucked.I don't fully get what you mean Jeannie. |
|
Jeannie-ReddWhat exactly don't you understand? If you mean the term "jump the shark". It's a tv term for when a show starts to go downhill. What I'm basically asking is if anyone thought that the 3rd season was the reason the show started to lose steam and if it was do you think that the plot lines had anything to do with it? Such the plot that Syd lost two years of her life or the whole Lauren stealing Vaughn plot. That's all I'm asking |

crazygal360No, I liked season 3, and what I have seen of season 5 (I'm in Australia and they haven't finished it yet) I have liked as well. However, I hate season 4, except for 'Echoes', 'A Man of his Word' and 'Tuesday'. Other than that Alias is THE best show, particularly Sark, but Alias in general. |
|
midnights-daughterMD47Actually...season three was good...a lot of different things were going on. Season four isn't thaaat bad. But I highly dislike season 5. It seems as though they just did it because they had to. It seems rushed and it's not even a full season. Also, them bringing in new characters...except that one chick (the "enemy", the one with the cool accent)...I hated. But...I dunno. I still love the show and agree especially Sark. <3 |

Rose's ThorneI believe that the show jumped the shark when they started bringing people back from the dead. I can see how they could do that with Irina being Laura and not really dying, but executing Sloane and bringing him back, and killing "Francie" A.K.A. Allison Doren and having her not be dead, killing Irina and all of a sudden it was her double that was dead all along...all of this just seemed like over-kill. They also never should have killed off Vaughn because there were a lot of people who watched the show just for him, not for the plotlines. I do think that they brought in too many new characters during the fifth season and never gave them any real depth. It seemed like they were just there, not really a part of the story. I feel that the writers should have taken a bit more time writing characterization and less time on killing people and bringing them back.| #7 Nov 11th 2007, 5:42pm . Edited Nov 11th 2007, 5:47pm

soccergirlmichI agree with you. They definately needed to give the new characters much more depth. That was one of the things that I loved about the show. I especially liked the plotlines and how complex the story was. I am sad that it is over, but they were really messing up the fifth season. I didn't like how it ended. Anyways...My favorite character was Sydney, as many people's are. By far my favorite actress! (Twilight is Amazing!!!!) lol |

gaby47mmmmmm i seriously loved all seasons buit i do believe season 5 wa s a bit rushed and they wrote new characters that they didnt really developed...they where just there and it gt kind of repetitive with the bringing ppl back to life.....anyway alias fan for ever!! best show ever and im very glad i have all the dvds so i can watch the show anyday anytime :) |

midnights-daughterMD47All said is true. It's sad when you see shows you love, that should go out with a bang, go out bad. You know it's bad when the most dedicated fans hated the last of it. Haha. Nonetheless, I still love the show. |

vanessacarltonfanYeah, Idk though. I hated season 3 and season 5. Rachel was just too much of a "sydney" remake for me to believe. It's like oooo since Jen is pregnant let's bring in someone exactly like her so maybe the fans won't notice that she's not Sydney. I mean come on Prophet 5 acting exactly like SD-6? Please! Tom was just too elusive for me to like though he warmed up towards the end. While Weiss was at least funny when he was there. They should have never gotten rid of SD-6 or at least put it off for another season or so. They got rid of Vaughn and Irina too many times. They killed the man every single year. They didn't tie the Rambaldi plot together with the 47's and the Mt Sabasio plot there at the end.... it just ended weak to me. Season 3 just stank. Vaughn moving on? Come on. He'd brood and we all know it. Lauren would have been interesting if she and Vaughn had only dated or was only a co-worker. I can live with Francie dying if I have to... but I admit at the time I was pretty mad. I hated Nadia dying and Weiss leaving without a goodbye to Nadia or anything. Basically if I could pick a few things to change (that are my No.1 top things I hated) that would be: 1 the finale (i.e. Making Irina evil/lack of Rambaldi plot) 2 Getting rid of Weiss & or Nadia 3 No Will Tippin. |
