Hello Anyone There
Erm, OK. I barely understood any of that. All I could tell was that it was rubbish about incest between the sons of Feanor.

Maedhros and bloody Fingon. What is it about those two that people think they are in mad, horny love. THEY'RE COUSINS! That's incest! Suffice to say I left her a flamey gift in the reviews section.

Hello Anyone There
Cool, I'll go and check that out!

The Battling Bard
My flamey gift or the story?
#5 Mar 11th 2008, 3:27pm
Hello Anyone There
Your wonderful flamey gift! *g* They got 2 reviews and they were both complete opposites.

Love the review you left, BB. Hate the story. Yes, it is flawed. Flawed in the fact that the author has so bloody respect for Tolkien.

The Battling Bard
Absolutely. I hate slash in Tolkien. Gross and wrong.
#8 Mar 11th 2008, 3:40pm
Hello Anyone There
Slash should not be allowed in great works of fiction.

The Battling Bard
Alas that you are one of the few people who think that, and thus proving that this is the last haven of sanity on the internet.

I just got a review reply!

thank you for reviewing my story, "flawed" - i am grateful for all feedback,

positive or negative, although i would like to quickly mention a few things.

first, i'm confused as to whether you actually read my fic. you mentioned

"mad, horny love" in your review, something which i don't remember writing.

actually, the characters didn't even do so much as hold hands.

second, you had the audacity to say that i "obviously have no respect for

Tolkien or his work" - which is rather silly, i think. i write fanfiction in

tribute to Tolkien and his great works. why would i do so if i did not

respect him?

third, Tolkien expressly states that Maedhros “appeared to be unwed.”

there is no mention of him in a heterosexual relationship whatsoever, and

therefore no proof that he was straight.

fourth, homophobia is not cool. prejudice will get not nowhere. that’s

pretty much all I have to say on the subject.

And my reply...

You are so delusional it's untrue. Meadhros and Fingon were cousins, you know- family? Would you want to have it away with your cousin- because I certainly wouldn't. Do you really think Tolien- a devout catholic and god fearing man, meant his creations to be homosexual? The answer is a resounding no.

Stupid woman.

Do they really care what we say about them? I think I'm going to have to block that achetyple-whatever person. The only time s/he/it comes on is to snark at us.

Hello Anyone There

#32 Mar 13th 2008, 7:54am
The Battling Bard
Don't want to talk about it here!
#33 Mar 13th 2008, 12:42pm
Hello Anyone There
Ok1 Lets talk about something completly random! Any ideas?
#34 Mar 13th 2008, 12:52pm
The Battling Bard
Was Aule a bad judge of character?
#35 Mar 13th 2008, 12:55pm
Hello Anyone There
How so?
#36 Mar 13th 2008, 1:03pm
The Battling Bard
Sauron and Saruman were both his Maia spirits, and he was all for giving Morgorth another chance.
#37 Mar 13th 2008, 2:34pm
Hello Anyone There
They were his? I thought you were talking about the creation of the dwarves. He must have been quite lax with his maias then. I don't think he was a bad judge of character, Morgoth fooled all of the Valar except Ulmo and most of the elves.
#38 Mar 13th 2008, 3:37pm
The Battling Bard
And Tulkas, yeah Aule also created dwarves, which was also a bad idea in my opinion. The only elves not fooled by Morgorth were the Vanyar and the Teleri.
#39 Mar 13th 2008, 4:06pm
The Battling Bard
And the House of Fingolfin ;)
#40 Mar 13th 2008, 4:06pm
Hello Anyone There
So nearly all the elves then.
#41 Mar 13th 2008, 4:18pm
The Battling Bard
Actually, I think it's only the Noldor he fooled, becuse he was most interested in them, as they were intelligent, skillful and quick to learn.
#42 Mar 13th 2008, 4:38pm
Araiona Dubois
Maybe Aule was just trying to see the best in people. ;)
#43 Mar 13th 2008, 6:34pm
The Battling Bard
Mmmmm. I bet he was hot though.
#44 Mar 14th 2008, 3:48pm
Araiona Dubois
*nods* Oh I'm sure of it.
#45 Mar 15th 2008, 6:08am
Hello Anyone There
Which Valar would you have if you could only have one? And Lorien is mine.
#46 Mar 15th 2008, 1:02pm
The Battling Bard
Mandos

Mmmmmm....

#47 Mar 15th 2008, 3:10pm
The Battling Bard
Or Aule as he is good with his hands, lol.
#48 Mar 15th 2008, 3:10pm
