Uzuki SaotomeMy theories are that...1. He's freakin' Jamacan. Let's see. I think those three little strands of hair under his ears, are dreadlocks. And he HAS said, "Good lord, man!" on several occasions, making him seem like it to me. My second theory? Remember the episode when trying to teach Ed and Eddy to behave, and how he used bandages as discipline? I think his parents may have done that to him, and still do, and it left marks. His hat would come in handy for that. It might also explain why he hates to break rules. |
monkeyshoeThat last one is quite a good theory, when I was like six or something, I thought his head cracked open and the hat was to hide his brains XD |
Uzuki SaotomexD When I first watched E,EnE and one of the Ed's finally said it was a "hat" and not his hair, I immediately thought, "Wierddddd....Maybe he got a really bad haircut, and his hair hasn't gornw back the way he likes it? o.o" |
fanfictionfan123When I first saw "Ed.Edd,n Eddy",I thought Double D was a girl! I thought that the hat was his hair! My theory is that he might have had an accident in his lab when he was younger. |
PinkPanther9.7i think he has a hole in his head |
TikaaniWell, we on't know much of tehir past, but I think that:A) he has some kind of haircut that he doesn't like any more, maybe a mohawk. We've all got a wild side, and I read somewhere that 'after teh dodgeball incident, he dedicated his life to science..." and all that good stuff, so that means that before this 'dodgeball incident' he may not have been a super genius. B) He's blonde. He doesn't want anyone to know, because of all of teh dumb blonde jokes. I HATE THOSE AN I WILL DESTROY ANYONE WHO SAYS THEM! I'M BLONDE AND A STRAIGHT A STUDENT! Sorry, went a little crazy on you there. :) C) I agree with the whole 'he's jamaican' theory. It actually makes perrfect sense, if you think about it.Although, he i missing the accent. |
AmarieCHah! Jamaican accent! I can imagine it... |
The Illustrious CrackpotI think that Ed and Eddy routinely superglue the hat to his head. I mean, sure, in some episodes it comes off, but in others it's as if it's WELDED TO HIS HEAD and doesn't come off no matter WHAT. If this were true, and the hat has been completely stuck to his head for long periods of time, that would explain why he feels so "naked" without it.| #9 May 31st 2007, 12:09pm

The Illustrious CrackpotThen again, there MUST be something under there, based on Ed and Eddy's reactions in "Stop, Look, Ed" where Double-D's hat actually comes off...the blonde theory seems really popular on dA...| #11 Jun 10th 2007, 5:58pm

MadeUpFigmentNumer two makes perfect sence. Number one seems pretty good too (and it made me laugh!). Maybie he's just bald (exept for the few strands of hair) and has a weird shaped head?| #12 Jun 15th 2007, 3:57am

The Illustrious CrackpotMaybie he's just bald (exept for the few strands of hair) and has a weird shaped head? If that was the case, Kevin would never take HIS hat off either. . There's definitely *something* there that Edd doesn't want anyone to see—I just watched "From Here To Ed", and, if Eddy can force Double-D to compromise his morals just with a threat of revealing what's beneath his hat...(without a jawbreaker, that is)...then you've got a mystery.| #13 Jun 16th 2007, 3:02am

MadeUpFigmentHere's another idea, maybie he has acme? And it's just on his head? Ok, that was stupid I admit...Kevin's head does look weird XD. | #14 Jun 16th 2007, 3:42am

The Illustrious CrackpotI assume you mean "acne"...no, it's not stupid; it'd be just like Eddy's pimple in "X Marks The Ed".| #15 Jun 16th 2007, 5:15am

PinkPanther9.7Mabey the pimple is covering up the top of his head thus filling his hat with the said pimple.or he could have alien attenae poking up through his head | #16 Jun 24th 2007, 7:49am

The Illustrious CrackpotThe guy has three hairs. Without his hat he has Eddy's head, but with more squiggly lines. If you're referring to a game on CartoonNetwork.com where Double-D takes off his hat after he wins, this was discussed on another EEnE forum on this site...the people who posted said that the game wasn't supervised by AKA Cartoons, so that's not the "official" verdict on what's underneath his hat. | #19 Aug 15th 2007, 4:50am

Liquid OxygenAccording to the episode Every Which Way But Ed where he was wearing the beanie even at a very young age, I think he was born with some kind of defect related to his hair or skull (possibly genetic), though I don't know what kind of problem he could have. On the other hand, he could have had an operation as a youngster which left scarring or he may have no hair underneath his beanie at all. Then again, in two episodes in the first and second seasons, we may not ever discover what is under that beanie of his, but yet we do discover what Lee and Marie's eyes look like when they're having their hair done and when Ed, Edd and Eddy poses to obtain their anchor.| #22 Aug 16th 2007, 12:48am . The Illustrious CrackpotIn an interview with Danny Antonucci on one of the new DVDs, Antonucci states that what lies beneath Edd's hat will remain a secret unless there's an EEnE movie, where the truth will be revealed. And a movie just so happens to be in the works right now, so the question might be answered soon—unless Antonucci was kidding around and only said that to make fans demand a movie.| #23 Aug 17th 2007, 5:45am

InsanegamrThis mystery has plagued me for some time. Seriously, I've killed off brain cells trying to figure it out. The best answer I can come up with is that it is some horrible injury thrust upon him by the "dodgeball incident."| #24 Sep 05th 2007, 8:25am

amainihachiI think when he was younger his parents disciplined him in a way similar to the method shown in "My Fair Ed". His parents could have used bandages on the back of his head and peeled them off whenever he misbehaved(and don't say that Edd is a perfect angel and he would never misbehave, all little kids get into some kind of trouble.) It could have damaged his scalp to the point where it was permanent and he would have to wear a hat for the rest of his life. It would also explain why he is so afraid of breaking rules. It could also be related to the dogeball incident. It could be some sort of ugly scar or something. It seems more likely, since in the movie they are going to answer most of the questions and it would only make sense that the secret of the hat and the dogeball incident are connected. | #25 Sep 19th 2007, 4:10pm

Nintendo Nut1I'd like to think the truth of what's under that hat of his isn't really that extreme, or else Ed and Eddy's reaction would've been more than just "geez louise" or "cool."One thing's for sure, in the episode "Will Work for Ed," Edd pulls out a hairpin from under his hat to help Ed peel the potatoes for Rolf. A HAIRPIN. So I firmly believe there is indeed hair under there. The main theory of mine is that it's naturally blonde and long. He's afriad of revealing this, on the basis that he'd look like a delinquint and that he perhaps fears the dumb blonde stereotype, and the others may not take him seriously. Nazz and May Kanker don't help the situation. XD "But wait!" you say. "What about those three strands of black hair? Wouldn't that make him a brunette?" Yes, indeed, a valid point. I have two theories to back up mine with that fact. One: Those strands are fake. Two: He dyes the tips of his hair black so no one will know and keeps the rest hidden. Well, that's my theory and I'm sticking to it. :) I'll guess we'll find out when the feature comes out. | #26 Sep 21st 2007, 6:12pm

ORB BE UBERHAPPYyou gotta think it can't be horrendously awful, because if Eddy and Ed (especially Ed) have seen it, and only laughed, then you know it's probably like a fro-hawk or somthing...right? |
Nintendo Nut1THAT IS MY POINT EXACTLY!!!! THANK you! |
BeanieBopperI believ he has blond hair because: In Quick Shot Ed when the Kankers make the Ed "pretty" his hair was blond Also in other evidence like other people say he doesn't want people to look at him as dum i do not believe the blonds are dum theory but you never know what might be true in cartoons :) |
glopnotishbooberOne: We're talking about EDD not ED. Two: They all had wigs. Three: There is a b in "dumb". Four: MY MOTHER IS BLONDE! MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME ADVANCED MATH! THIS DUMB BLONDE S**T IS WHY I'VE HAD FIVE STEP-FATHERS! |
BeanieBopper1. I made a typo 2. I was just talking about Edd's wig, I knew they all had wigs 3. That's how a lot of people spell dumb 4. I said I didn't believe in it I said it might be true in Peach Creek |
BeanieBopperAlso I meant Ed's. |
tisvana18Here's my theory. He has a picture of The blonde headed Kanker under it. I have proof it was in a valentine's episode. But a jamaican accent would be funny "Gude loord Maun" (That's how it sounds) |
