Topic: Song Brings To Mind Idea For A Fanfic
Has anyone else heard the new song by Jason Alldean ( probably spelled that wrong. ) , he's a country music singer.

The song is called " Why " and it has allot of potential for a fanfic.

However, I currently don't have the time to write it, so I thought I would make a suggestion.

Part of the song goes.

" Why do I always use the words that cut the deepest, when I know how much it hurts you.

Baby why, do I do that to you. "

I don't know all of the song, but you might want to get the lerics and consider it for a fanfic.

You mean you might want to use it as inspiration for a fanfic, since songfics are banned.

They were banned? Well that shows how much I know...thank God I've never written one then. Lol. That song really makes me think of Woody and JPF/There's No Place Like Home 2. Course everyone would prolly think of that right? It fits, and would be good for a fic if anyone cared to write it. I wouldn't but that's just me.

I didn't know they were banned either.

Does that mean I couldn't write a fanfic with the lerics in it either, does anyone know?

The general rule is "so long as it's not reported..."

i use song lyrics as tags for fics all the time, Long Slow Burn every chapter pretty much started off with a line or two from a song that fit.

There's a few other sites to post a songfic though, and a good song fic shouldn't NEED the lyrics either, it should be able to stand on it's own without the song, the song just makes the mood fit better-if you can do this, then you'll be in good shape because you can cut the song lyrics and tell people that they can pretty much figure out where they fit...

Ya, that's great to not have to use the actual song in your songfic, but did anyone ever find a fic that says 'Songfic' in the discription, but then you read the story, and it doesn't say anywhere what song it is. I've happened across this once or twice, and it is very annoying. For that reason alone, I think they should reverse that rule. I think they're being big meanies about it.

That's just what I have to say.
