lalalululeleTopic: Quistis She's my favorite female character in the game. She's smart, pretty, and isn't a damsel in distress. So post what you want please. |
|
diddly dayThat's right. Who doesn't love her? She should've gotten a bigger part. |
|
The Grey WarriorIt's just a shame that Squall chose Rinoa over her. Obviously Squall doesn't find brains beautiful. |
|
icyreflectionsAmen, she'd be the only character that doesn't screw things up for everyone else. |
|
Phantom TypewriterThat's not entirely true. Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against Quistis, but since this is a forum about the characters you hate I feel that I have to make a negative comment since nobody else is.The truth is Quistis screwed things up a few times for people. At the start she was great, at least until she lost her liscense. She messed up a few times later, though, like when she abandoned her post during the sorceress parade. (Come on, people, you have to admit that was stupid.) The simple truth is that Quistis ain't a leader, and she was never meant to be. Squall finally realized this in Esthar and put Zell in charge when he left for space, rather than Quistis. Of course, she's not all bad, but I'm only mentioning the bad points because nobody else is, and I know somebody's gonna stand up for her anyway. | #5 Jan 03rd 2006, 2:36pm . RubyTuesday13I'd have to agree there, she does make a rather silly mistake at the parade: she's smart enough to make a good decision, but not assertive enough to stick to it. And I'm sure there's a confidence issue in there. What bugs me is she actually puts Rinoa's hurt feelings above a problem with way more significance. She wants to be a pragmatist, but can't overcome her mother hen instinct sometimes. Those are her flaws. But I think if she hadn't ever made any mistakes, there would be more negative posts in this category :) She'd be perfect, and nobody likes that. Thanks for trying though :) |

Hino AkaiQuistis, while smart, pretty, and in many minds a better romantic interest than Rinoa, does have her flaws and does annoy some. Personally, I had to force myself not to throw a controller at the tube when she was sitting there predicting Squall's responses and laughing. Let's face it everyone, no one's perfect, but people are interesting because of flaws. |
|
lalalululeleyeah I guess I didn't like her being a know-it-all and then she mistook her feelings for Squall as love.I like fanfics where they bring Quistis down and break her apart. It's fun seeing well-put-together people brought down and being kinda pathetic. |
|
diddly dayYes, but she wouldn’t be a realistic character if she didn’t have any flaws. Perfect people are kind of annoying because they make us feel like crap. Quistis does have a little part, but she’s, in my own opinion, one of the most third-dimensional characters in the entire game. |

Triple EYeah that was pretty irritating when Quistis would mimic Squall but am I the only one who thought that a teacher being in love with a student no matter what her age is was just plain creepy?| #10 Feb 07th 2006, 1:28pm

Raiegki LeviathanQuistis never mimiced Squall. She always spoke at the same time as him, indicating that she knew what he was going to say.I think that Quistis was merely testing herself with Squall, to see if she truly was beginning to understand him, however, Squall was being Squall, and it's kind of easy to predict what Squall's reactions were going to be. I never really had a problem with Quisty's "crush" on Squall. They are pretty much the same age. And while Quistis may be an instructor and the no-nonsense, goal-oriented person of the group, she is still a teenager, eighteen years young, and infactuation is simply a normal part of being that age, no matter how professional Quistis tries to be. While I agree that a teacher of any kind and any age in love with you is a bit...awkward, it's because you see them as a mentor, and you feel like they're years beyond you, mentally. In my opinion, one of Quistis' main flaws is the way everything gets to her. Anything and everything that goes wrong really takes an effect on her. Rinoa and her Odine pendant wasn't part of the original Sorceress assassination plan, so Quistis went berserk. (Though we can all agree that Rinoa was being stupid then, Quistis probably went a little overboard) After that, Quistis is so bothered by the fact that she gave Rinoa the verbal smackdown, she goes back and almost jepordizes the entire mission in Deling. But of course, I still like Quistis. She can be incredibly witty when the moment stirkes her. My all-time favorite Quistis quote: Quistis: (to Seifer) "You're the squad leader. Good luck to you." Seifer: "...Instructor. I hate it when people wish me luck. Save those words for a bad student that needs them, eh?" Quistis: "Ok then." (short pause) Quistis: "Good luck, Seifer." | #11 Feb 07th 2006, 3:14pm

Triple EI think Bastila Shan is more no-nonsense and goal-oriented than Quistis Trepe is...Because Quistis would laugh and joke around from time to time.Bastila would never laugh, she would never joke around, and she would actually get ** off at you if you decided to joke around with her.Now I realize that Bastila is not a part of the Final Fantasy series but it is the truth.| #12 Feb 09th 2006, 9:12am

lalalululele"good luck. Seifer"Some people say they were flirting in that scene but I think Seifer likes to generally flirt with everyone. Even though she tries to be professional she can still act like a kid sometimes. Like at the end at the game where everyone is together and having fun. People like to make her really serious though. | #13 Feb 16th 2006, 5:34pm

Raiegki LeviathanI wouldn't call it flirting, either.Frankly, Seifer was acting very childish and arrogant. (like always) Quistis was just putting him in his place. Seifer was one of Garden's most promising fighters, but he was still a bad student. He was disrespectful, cocky, abusing his position as part of the DC, and had a "I'm-too-good-for-this" attitude to boot. Those were what held him back, and needed something like a whack upside the head to deflate his ego. That's exactly what Quistis did, except she did it with words. | #14 Feb 17th 2006, 8:30pm

Stardust Rayhehe, I just thought Quistis was being honest with him. Seifer was a bad student who needed the luck! lolI can't really see Quis and Seifer hooking up that much simply because I feel that she's just too serious for him. She's the type who'd keep with studies for fear of having her heartbroken again. She had that huge crush on Squall, and then, in comes Rinoa, and wam, there she is, out of the picture, and that idiot Squall's just head over heels for Rinoa... But you know what, I don't believe Quistis' crush went as deep as love, as she might have thought. I thought it was her giddy teenage feelings tugging in her mind, despite the fact that she remembers knowing him since they were little and stuff... Quistis is very successful with whatever she puts her mind to, but if she keeps worrying about being alone for the rest of her life, she'll ultimately end up being alone forever... I'm not really trying to make any points here, but I just felt like I should say that... | #16 Mar 09th 2006, 4:11pm

Triple EI've got a question about Quistis...Does anybody here know what her hair color is? I mean in the game sometimes she looks like a red head and sometimes she looks like a blond.| #17 Mar 30th 2006, 4:44pm

LadygreensleevesdQuistis is awesome! She's a teacher with a whip and glasses. What's not to love? And she's the only character I cared about in the game. She's probably the least cliched as well.I always thought Quistis' hair was blond Triple E. Can't remember a scene where it looked red. But I'm pretty sure it's blond. | #18 Mar 31st 2006, 2:02am

Triple EThe reason why I was asking that question is because I read a Final Fantasy VIII fanfiction story called "Cheat". And in that story the author described Quistis as a Red head.| #19 Mar 31st 2006, 1:37pm

Stardust Raylol...maybe it was that author's take on Quistis...sometimes, a character's appearance is slightly altered for the sake of the story, or just for fun. In one of my stories, I made Fujin into a bleach blonde, lol...all because I just can't see how a person so young can have a head full of gray. (Geez, is Fuj that stressed?) lol...but that's just one way to look at it. Maybe the author...really feels that in sunlight Quistis' hair is red...of course, we never see a FMV of Quistis directly in the sunlight...unless you look at the FMV from the beginning of the game, her very first introduction...but even there its hard to tell. (In all honesty, she's an obvious blonde...the writer must've gotten bored with her being blonde...but Quistis is Quistis, and we like her the same, eh?) lol Ciao | #20 Mar 31st 2006, 3:02pm

Tiger-ESI have always thought that she was simply putting Seifer in his place or deflaiting his ego. But I have never truly gotten Seifer. It is possible that they were flirting. I think they would make a pretty good couple if they could get to that point. You see? We can't tell the differance of flirting or hurting. We need FFVIII to go into FFX detail so we can read their eyes and hear the inflection of their voices. Only I don't want to hear Seifer's name pronounced "S,EYE-FUR" God... that is such a stupid name. I know I pronounced it wrong "SEF-FEE,AIR" but I am willing to go with "SAY-FUR" which seems more correct anyways. | #21 Aug 24th 2006, 8:31am

Stardust RayHaven't played KH2, that's Kingdom Hearts 2...it's pronounced S-EYE-fer (as you've said) in there...so I would think it's the correct way to say it.I don't really like Sayfer...that's just...Sooo ugly... | #22 Aug 24th 2006, 12:38pm

Tiger-ESI think SAY-FUR sounds pretty cool simply because of Safer Sephiroth. Even though I don't like FFVII, his power I can respect.| #23 Nov 07th 2007, 3:57pm

The Age of ConsentI personally don't like Quistis. She seems very pathetic to me. Especially when her first real character development scene is her ** how everything is so crappy in her life (when she takes Squall to the 'secret area'). Her character design is pretty bad ** though, I'll give her that. A teacher wearing orange leather AND uses a whip? Can't get much more bad ** than that. |
|
Sabaku no SanaOrange? Well, it guess it kinda looks a little orange...or like a kind of melony color. Not like it matters, though. Her design is one of the best of Nomura's. I adore Quistis. ^^ I love her insecurity, how she tries to be the adult all the time. The instructor. And was just not a natural at it. That scene where she unloads her feelings about losing her instructor's position on Squall made me feel for her. She probably doesn't have many people she can really talk to(She seems to talk the most to effin' Kadowaki), and since she likes Squall, she tries too hard around him. And Squall is Squall, meaning he doesn't want to hear it. I don't like Say-fer, either. His name is German. It's a good name, dude. Hehehe. ^^ | #25 Jun 06th, 11:32pm . Edited Jun 06th, 11:37pm

cerespallasOrange...? In my screen it looks like peach... some people say it's pink. I love Quistis. I think she's the pillar in the group, someone smart and definitely someone they can depend on. If she wasn't there, the group will lose it's balance since she's their walking encyclopedia. Seifer is German name? I learn something new everyday ^ ^ what did it mean? |

Sabaku no SanaIf she wasn't there, the group will lose it's balance since she's their walking encyclopedia. More like walking Garden Code book. ^^ I do agree that she is a very valuable member of the team. She, along with Xu, made the transition from SeeD team leader to Garden commander infinitely easier for Squall. Plus, she's quite a fighter. Zell is more of the walking encyclopedia, though. Seifer is German name? I learn something new everyday ^ ^ what did it mean? Um.. I think it means Warrior, or something. |
