aethere -The Baknamy Merchant - ...(Seriously, he says nothing before or after you peruse his wares. You just buy stuff or you leave...Simple, no?) Maximillian Price, 17000 - Defense, +58 - Magick Resist, +1 - Element, NONE - LP, 60, Heavy Armor 9 Demon Shield Price, 11200 - Evade +40, - Magick Evade, +0 - Absorb, DARK - LP, 30 - Shields 6 Very useful for areas where there are many monsters that use Dark attacks, e.g. Undead. ACCESSORIES Ring of Renewal Price, 18000 - Defense, +6 - Magick Resist, +5 - Equip, REGEN - LP, 70 - Accesories 16 (Can also be obtained by delivering Ann's Letter to her six-or-so sisters on an optional sidequest when boarding an airship - pick leisure craft, not private cabin, and then speak to the Chief Docent. Be curious about the man courting her, but it may depend on which route you've chosen that will determine whether or not you get this sidequest. Very useful and with strong stats when compared with most of the other accessories.) ITEMS Ether Price, 222 - Element, NONE Restore a small amount of MP to one ally. (Hi-Ether is a stronger version of Ether.) TECHNICKS Telekinesis Price, 7100 - LP, 80 Deal ranged damage with melee weapons. (Is used by guest members like Larsa and Reddas/Zecht to battle flying creatures. Very useful for doing so with Dive Talons, Aeronites and other flying creatures; even more so when they aren't hovering above land that you can walk on. Gravity is also useful in cases like that.) MAGICKS & TECHNICKS Scathe Price, 18100 - Black Magicks - Element NONE - MP Cost 70 - LP, 120 - Black Magick 8 Deal massive damage to all foes in range. (Don't ask why this category is called what it is. No idea why, perhaps a typo of some sort, but this magick is very, very useful. It literally burns an enemy so badly that nearly all or all of its HP is subtracted. This, plus one attack, will wipe out any normal enemy that has a regular disposition towards it.) --- LOCATION To find the Baknamy Merchant hidden in the Hall of Effulgent Light in the Necrohol of Nabudis - dubbed the Hidden Merchant as well - enter the Hall of Effulgent Light from the Salikawood. Expect to be ambushed by all sorts of creatures, mainly Baknamy folk, and go prepared. In the Hall of Effulgent Light the monsters have HP limits around 10000 or higher and there are many traps - mostly fusillade and wizardsbane. Skip the video clip you come up with when first entering from the Salikawood (as I am unsure if there are any other entrances) if you want to. It doesn't contain any important information but Basch does advise to turn back. Walk along the hall you're in after that tidbit for a while until your first opportunity to turn right. If you need help figuring out which way it right and which way is wrong...um, left, then hold up both hands and make L-signs. The real L is left. The other is right. In that adjoined chamber that connects the original corridor and the really long one you'll find a few traps. Equip a Bangle, preferably BEFORE you enter the Necrohol...Although I should have said that earlier. If you don't have a Bangle, use Libra on a member of your party. If you don't have Libra by now, you're sort of screwed when it comes to traps. Along that long corridor, go west (check the location map's compass). Head in the same direction you were probably heading before. The second right, go down it. There are several Elvoret down that corridor, by the way. The first right is where you will go into that room and then go into the room not on the map. Search each corner of the room until you get the action icon that says '???'. Press X and there's your wonderful Hidden Merchant. Above is listed his wares and prices. --- LOCATION SIMPLIFIED Turn the first right, in a northern direction. Keep on going. Turn left/west. Turn right/north on the second right you pass next. Keep on going. Turn the first right in that corridor in the eastern direction. Then turn right/south into the room not on the map. Search the corners until you get an action icon (!!) that says '???'. Press X. --- If you still can't find him, just look for corners in elaborate rooms and colorful coffers that are really Pandora's. That usually means you're really close. It's not featured on the map, unfortunately...but then again, the fact that you walked off the map should clue you in. |
