Flame RisingTopic: Flame Rising's Random "Top Chef" Musings
I had a little free time before dinner so I thought why not make a pointless thread? This will probably be a lonely little thread that no one but me uses, but hey, if anyone else wants to comment on TC, feel free! My top picks— Richard Stephanie Dale (gone. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Dark Horse— Antonia Middle-- Andrew (gone) Lisa (who is apparently perpetually (Yes! Two fucking adverbs in a row!) constipated) Spike (gone) Bottom- The Aussie (gone) Nikkie (gone) PS. Padma is fucking hot. | #1 Apr 30th, 5:56pm . Edited May 30th, 5:01am

Dimitriusfirst post? EDIT: Awesome, I did it. Now to think about my favorite chefs. ...I just realized I don't know any. Crap. Hmmm...I do like the Chinese people who make Chinese food in the neighborhood. | #2 Apr 30th, 5:57pm . Edited Apr 30th, 6:00pm

to.make.you.feel.my.loveI so want Andrew to win, just because it's time for an ADD/Ginger winner. But then again, I'm a ginger, and we kinda tend to go towards our own kind. Heck if I know. I just like the show. By the way, the Aussie guy is actually from New Zealand. Kristen |
KosmicKinseiEarlier while watching TV, I saw "Top Chef" on the list of channels, but I went ahead to watch another show about cats learning to lick heads of children and use toilets because I find that to be more entertaining. |
strawberries and napkinsI was always more of a Hell's Kitchen kind of girl. I did catch half of an episode of Top Chef....I think....they were making fancy tacos... |
Flame RisingI watch "Hell's Kitchen" too because there's nowhere else I can see someone throw chicken against a wall and scream Shut it down! every week. Things I never needed to hear: "I have a culinary boner."--Andrew Although he scored a few points with me when he said "It's an honor to cook with you, Chef" to his kid. |
piewacket"I have a culinary boner."--Andrew *groan* He did not say that? Is it worth watching tonight? |
Flame Rising*groan* He did not say that? Is it worth watching tonight? They had it as a blurb at the end. Not really worth it. Kind of boring except when Mark says at the judge's table that he thinks Tom hates him. |
piewacketKind of boring except when Mark says at the judge's table that he thinks Tom hates him. So, it's like all of the other episodes this season? Yeah- I saw that in the previews. How does Tom react to that? |
Flame RisingHe tries to convince him he's not. I don't think Mark believed it. Second quote I never needed to hear-- "It makes me want to go home and make some babies." --Richard |
piewacket"It makes me want to go home and make some babies." --Richard Count your blessings... at least it wasn't Andrew or constipated chick. |
Flame RisingThat constipated chick bugs the shit out of me. (Which is ironic considering she's constipated and all) |
Seriously WrongIs it worth watching tonight? I'll tell you how not worth watching it was, I fell asleep half way through and woke up in time for Padma to say someones dish was the most disgusting thing she'd ever eaten, watch constipatedgirl screw up her mouth like she does when told her "fabulous" food sucks, and the Kiwi bite the dust. |
piewacketI'll tell you how not worth watching it was, I fell asleep half way through and woke up in time for Padma to say someones dish was the most disgusting thing she'd ever eaten, watch constipatedgirl screw up her mouth like she does when told her "fabulous" food sucks, and the Kiwi bite the dust I wish I'd seen this before wasting yet another hour of my life. This season sucks! |
The Shadow SyndicateI stopped watching Top CHef after the second season. I just liked to see everyone ragging on Marcel. 'What the hell is it with you and foam?!!!' |
Seriously Wrong'What the hell is it with you and foam?!!!' Ah, fond memories. |
Flame RisingOkay, I only watched the end to see who got sent home. Now I'm watching the beginning on DVR, and all I can say is: Mis en place! Mis en place! |
Flame RisingBest quote so far: "I have not seen this much emotion...from myself!" Holy shit! Dale just flipped out! |
piewacketMis en place! Mis en place! Oh God! That just threw me back to the days of waitressing at a fancy-schmancy restaurant while working my way through grad school. |
piewacketSW was just traumatized by the boner comment. ;) |
Flame RisingHell, I was just traumatized by the thought of Dale wearing a diaper. |
piewacketHell, I was just traumatized by the thought of Dale wearing a diaper. I sooooooooooooooo don't want to know what this is all about. Did he pull a crazed NASA astronaut stunt? |
Flame RisingNo--after he had a tantrum, one of them said something like, "He's off to get his diaper changed now." I like Dale, but come on! It's just... MIS EN PLACE! (I just like saying that.) |
Flame Rising"I'm Popeye's wet fucking dream right now." --Andrew |
piewacketMIS EN PLACE! (I just like saying that.) Thanks a lot! I will now have waitressing stress- dreams tonight. The type where I have a huge section to serve and get caught up with a table of ladies who take forever to order stupid umbrella drinks. Then I turn around and every table has people sitting at it. |
piewacket"I'm Popeye's wet fucking dream right now." --Andrew To quote fabs- Oh. Ew! I think I'll skip TC tonight. |

Seriously WrongTop Chef Update: 1. Whine the most - Two way tie, Nikki (I'm dizzy, I'm dehydrated, I'm not taking responsibility as Executive chef on this), Dale (Justifiable tirade at Judges Table) 2. Cry the most - Spike.....as usual. 3. Say the stupidest thing - It was going to be a two way tie, but Andrew won hands down for the "Popeye" & "Boner" comments. 4. Look constipated - Lisa at Judges table...as usual, though she actually smiled when they said her cake was good, I thought her face would crack. 5. Be out the door - Brick 'o Velveeta (I knew that the minute she said "Dale and I have different philosophies on ragout, then proceeded to let the whole team do whatever they wanted......ah were you not watching the previous three seasons?) |
piewacketCan they possibly whine any more? Though, I do have to say I like Richard. While he should have gone home a couple of episodes ago for the fish scales, he's a class act. He reminds me of Harold from the first season. |
'myrina' has relocated to LJFound it. :-) I like Richard a lot. I'm semi-upset over Andrew leaving. He was kind of growing on me (like an unwanted genital wart, but he had his moments). I'm shocked at how much lower the caliber is this season. Even the challenges seem uninspired. Last night was a recycled one of last season with reinventing an unhealthy dish. |
piewacketHe was kind of growing on me (like an unwanted genital wart, but he had his moments). LOL And when exactly does a genital wart have its moments? And even more importantly, is there such a thing as a wanted genital wart? ;) I was out of town and did not see last night's episode. I'll have to catch one of the endless repeats this weekend. |
Seriously WrongHey Myrina! Always nice to have another devotee of TC.;) I'm semi-upset over Andrew leaving. I was glad to see him go, he's been jumping around on the last two challenges like a monkey on crack (no disrespect to monkey's intended). His mannerisms and attitude were annoying to the extreme. The whole show has been recycling itself most of the season, but I guess that's to be expected after several seasons, I mean how many ways can you cook, or not cook a scallop. F/R, prediction on the winner this year: Antonia. |
piewacketWoot! My sweetie, Anthony Bourdain, is going to be the guest judge this week. As F/R would say...Bourdain is hot! | #32 May 19th, 10:01pm . Edited May 19th, 10:03pm
Seriously WrongAs F/R would say...Bourdain is hot! Bourdain is the shitz! I'm glad I saw this, I wasn't going to watch. |
Seriously WrongTaking bets, Dale or Lisa? |
piewacketTaking bets, Dale or Lisa? Since it's not on here until 10:00, I'm taking a wild guess. I say...Dale. Bourdain is the shitz! Hey! I wonder if he is single? ;) |
Seriously WrongHey! I wonder if he is single? ;) He's wearing a wedding ring, darn. I've got it figured out who is going home, but I'll keep it to myself so it will be a surprise for you,;) Edit: Gah, I was right, crap. | #36 May 21st, 7:52pm . Edited May 21st, 7:59pm

Flame RisingNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Seriously WrongNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I concur. |
piewacketNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I concur. Who? Who went home? If it was between Dale and Lisa, it has to be Dale to get this reaction. |
Flame RisingI just watched the last minute of it. I'm so pissed. All I can say, again, is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like I said before: Restaurant Wars: Where good chefs go home. Edit: Dale. | #40 May 21st, 8:04pm . Edited May 21st, 8:06pm
Seriously WrongSince you ask, yes, it was Dale. It should be constipated girl booted out the door as she fucked up royally. What's worse, a miss on an original dish or fucking up something you've cooked before, and don't give me any horseplocky about "unusual rice", give me a break. |
piewacketSince you ask, yes, it was Dale. I hope that Richard wins. So far, he has shown the most class and integrity. |
Seriously WrongI have a feeling it's going to be Antonia. |
piewacketI have a feeling it's going to be Antonia. Think it's time for a female winner? Could be. I can live with her winning. |
Seriously WrongThink it's time for a female winner? Only if she truly earns the title. She and Richard are probably the strongest choices since both are able to get people to work as a team with them, and they are solid chefs. I'm going to bed, have to start getting up early again, night.;) |
Flame RisingI think Richard's the only one who has what it takes to excel in the final challenge where they have to supply an entire multi-course meal of superb dishes. He seems to have that cutting edge above the rest in his cooking. But the question is, can he make it to the final? But I would like to see either him, Antonia, or Stephanie win. If Constipated Bitch doesn't go home soon, I'm going to be seriously pissed. Edit: Night, SW. I'm headed to bed soon after a little visit to LotR. | #46 May 21st, 8:20pm . Edited May 21st, 8:22pm

piewacketI'm going to bed, have to start getting up early again, night.;) Sleep well. He seems to have that cutting edge above the rest in his cooking. He does, doesn't he? But I would like to see either him, Antonia, or Stephanie win. I could live with any one of those three, but I prefer Richard. |
piewacketIt looks like baby vomit with chips. You're not talking to your parole officer. I adore Anthony. Wow! That was the most lopsided restaurant challenge ever. | #48 May 21st, 10:41pm . Edited May 21st, 10:52pm

Flame RisingAm vowing not to watch tonight's episode. If Colonel Constipated isn't sent home tonight, though, I refuse to watch the rest of the season. Take that, Bravo! Because I am...Flame Rising! |

Seriously WrongAm vowing not to watch tonight's episode. If Colonel Constipated isn't sent home tonight, though, I refuse to watch the rest of the season. Pfffffft........right, I'm having deja vu all over again.;) |
