I'll bite. I'll put movie scenes for now...

The hotel scene from Return Of The Pink Panther is one of the best moments in the pink panther movies, I think. Absolutely genius, Peter Sellers was.

The spanish inquistion song from History Of the World, part 1 is my favorite part of the movie. It always has me laughing.

The part in Night At The Museum where Mcphee, or something like that, is questioning Larry about Octavious being in the Battle Of The Bulge area always makes me laugh as well. The way Gervais just stops mid-sentance is funny to me.

That's all for now.

Hey, can I put my favorite tv show moments here? I have a looooooottttt of those.

TV show moments are welcome.

How about that scene in Jaws when the Chief is pouring chum into the water. Jaws pops up and the man says, "We're gonna need a bigger boat!"

Classic!

Haven't actually seen Jaws.

Tv show moments

Scrubs: Johnny The Tackling Alzheimer's patient scenes are my favorite of all time. Only was three I think, but they were great.

The "Do you like pie?" scene where JD proves he can improvise a conversation.

Dr. Cox's musical rant in My Musical was amazing.

Ted falling off the roof and into the garbage bags was funny.

I can't think of any more. Maybe later.

EDIT: Here are a few links to those very things

I bought the Young Frankenstein cast album the other day and I can't stop listening to it. I think my favorite song is either "Transylvania Mania" or "Roll In The Hay." Very upbeat and catchy. Funny too, being Mel Brooks' writing.

Some of my favourite film bits would probably be:

The whole scene in Arsenic and Old Lace where Mortimer Bruster realises his sweet little maiden aunts have been poisoning lonely old men and burying them in the cellar.

"What's he doing here, what happened to him?"

"He died."

"Look here, Aunt Martha, men don't just get into windowseats and die!!!"

"Oh, no dear; he died first."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOThvZ4888o

The council scene in The Fellowship of the Ring, where 1) If you have the extended edition, you actually hear Gandalf intoning Black Speech and making the ground shake, 2) After Elrond says someone must take the Ring to Mordor, you can hear a pin drop, and 3) all those mighty Elves, Men, Dwarves etc get completely shown up by someone who's shorter and prettier than any of them.

Also later in the film, when Saruman stands on top of Orthanc and calls down the snow storm. Best. Shot. Ever.

Basically all of Howl's Moving Castle, but especially the bit where Howl and Sophie escape the blobmen and fly up into the sky and walk on air to that really lovely waltz music.

Quite a lot of Shaun of the Dead, including the part where the two heroes clean out their record box by throwing things such as Dire Straits and the Batman soundtrack at the oncoming walking corpses; the various debates about whether the rifle which gives the Winchester Pub its name is real and whether dogs can look up; and the scene in the pub where they attack the zombie barman with pool cues to the dulcent strains of Queen issuing forth from a jukebox they can't shut off, while more and more zombies gather outside...

In Sakuran, there are various scenes I liked, but one of my favorites is when Kiyoha runs away from the brothel, to track down the customer she had fallen in love with. This happens after she gets into a public fight with the head oiran (oiran are brothel prostitutes), who is jealous that Kiyoha is in love and has a man who seems to love her. In the fight, Kiyoha demands to know what's so wrong with believing in the man she loves.

In the scene, Kiyoha is in the rain, the streets are muddy, she looks like she's traveled far and she's risked a lot to go to her love (she ran away from her home, the brothel where she works and she's never set foot outside of the property since she was sold to the place as a little kid). While she's walking down the street in the rain, she spots her lover emerging from a shop, he sees her and looks shocked and then he laughs/smiles softy. Kiyoha, crushed, doesn't even try to approach him.

The man laughed at her after getting over his initial shock, because the whole situation was ridiculous and foolish to him. Kiyoha actually believed that he loved her enough to take her in, despite being an Oiran and that he would be happy to see her. While he loves to be with her at the brothel, he doesn't really care for her enough to go out of his way for her. So instead of receiving the smile of a lover, she gets one of a devil.

The scene is actually present in this clip. In the video, "Kiyoha" has just been taken to the brothel and is trying to run off. One of the people working there has to fetch her. She fights with him and he tells her to give it up, because she can't leave and it's just the same out there as it is in here (within the walls of the brothel property). Kiyoha gets distracted by cherry blossom petals blown in from trees outside of the property and asks how come there are so many out there and none in here. He tells the girl that the tree right next to them is a Sakura tree and that when it blooms, he'll take her out of this place. The girl says that she doesn't need his help, she'll do it on her own. And, later, at the end of the clip, both of them are standing by the tree again. He points out a single blossom on the tree and says it's blossomed. Kiyoha comments that it's just barely and the man asks if she wants to go see them, real Sakura trees in bloom with him. He adds that, "even if it's with me, who has nothing, but..." and she says that it's more interesting that way.

Water Boys is kind of goofy. It's a group of boys who join the school synchronized swimming team, for the sake of seeing their female coach in a bathing suite and hanging out with her (it's an all boys high school).

Their facial expressions when watching the promotional swim video is hilarious. A large group of boys showed up to join the swim team, because they thought the coach was hot, but she's not a swim coach, she's a synchronized swimming coach. Some of the boys stay and get to see their coach in a bathing suite, however, she suddenly gets sick and throws up. The next scene is at the hospital and their coach is explaining to them that she's discovered she's 8 months pregnant and has to take time off. That scene is funny as well.

About 3:40 into this clip, it goes to the boys trying to find people who will financially support their club, since they need money to refill the school pool. Everyone laughs at them, guys who want to synchronize swim. A shop owner doesn't buy tickets, but suggests trying a certain establishment. It's a host club, where the hosts are men in drag that serve lady (the house wives sort probably) customers. The owner manhandles one of them and says he only will give them money if they promise to come work there after they graduate. One of the boys cries, because he's so afraid of the men in drag groping him. It's pretty funny.

Their first performance goes horribly, since they were self taught and don't know what the heck they're doing.

Havoc-Flamer

The ending of Return of the King.

Frodo goes to the Grey Havens and Sam comes home, alone. No Mr. Frodo with him. It made me cry the first time I read it. The movie version of that ALSO made me cry, it was so good…

The story of Arwen dying of a broken heart is just beautiful.

That Tolkien had engraved on his tombstone Beren to match his wife’s tombstone of Lúthien.

The ending of Sweeny Todd, it was beautifully sad and horrific.

Christine leaving Eric in the recent Phantom of the Opera movie – Something about that just sends chills up my spine.

Anakin Skywalker’s transformation into Darth Vader, the story that love can twist you into something horrible has always captivated me.

Jim Gaffigan did some advertising for Saturn a while back. His outtakes proved to be absolutely hilarious. I think the best part is when he is with an old man in the commercial. He is supposed to talk about the car, but he proceeds to have fun at the old man's expense. Making pig noises, calling him his dad and then his son, calling him shad (sad+shy=shad). Either that part or when Jim is driving in the car and talking. "No, I will not race you lady! This is a Saturn!" and "I just pooed myself." Or... "Same dent resistant doors, same steel frame same....(bleep!)"

Him in the drive thru proves intresting too. He tends to curse alot in this video, be warned. But it is so funny when he does! I'll put some quotes in the quote section too.

Wendwriter, for me you've opened several cans of worms. Red vs Blue is a parody of the game Halo. The first few episodes are actually intelligent, then it becomes stupidly funny.

I found 2 clips of American Idol audtions I found funny:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4GdGSnhr_c Someone sings the Jigglypuff song (Jigglypuff is a pokemon and the song is just the word "jigglypuff" as jigglypuff sings it and pokemon can only say their names unless like in Team Rocket's Meowth they teach themselves to.)

Ah, I think most of Murder By Death is great... Here is a bunch of funny lines from the movie.

Tess: My feet are killing me. Why didn't you tell me we needed oil before I went back for gas?

Sam: Because I gave you a fifty-dollar bill and the gas was only five bucks. Maybe you'd come back, maybe you wouldn't. I couldn't take that chance, Angel.

Tess: Don't you trust me, Sam?

Sam: Trust you? The last time that I trusted a dame was in Paris in 1940. She said she was going out to get a bottle of wine. Two hours later, the Germans marched into France.

Tess: Oh I'm sorry Sam...

Sam: Sorry nothing, give me my change.

As requested by Wendy, my Best Bits for Robin Hood: Men In Tights:

1.) Men In Tights Song. The best scene in the whole movie.

2.) Broomhilda jumping off the balcony, missing the horse. She leaves a giant crack in the ground.

3.) Catapault scene. Rottingham gets launched into Latrine's house and barely escapes her.

4.) Godfather parody scene. Rottingham hires a man to kill Robin. Dom DeLuise puts on his best Godfather impression and makes a very funny scene.

5.) Rapping begining and ending. Just the idea of rapping merry men is funny to me.

That's all for now.

Edit: I loooove Murder By Death. Classic Peter Sellers.

Kung Fu Panda - when the bad guy gets out of prison. It's brilliantly done, and filmed like a live action movie.

Kung Fu Panda, when Po the panda is caught raiding the kitchen and the master realises he might just have a hero after all.

Kung Fu Panda, where Po and the bad guy fight. Tremendous fun!

Also in Kung Fu Panda - when the Mantis gives Po acupuncture. So funny!

Yeah, that was hilarious.

Bob just reminded me of the Adam West version of Batman, the movie. Best bit: the ambassadors in the United Nations buildings being reduced to vials of coloured powder. When water is added, they come back to life, but this time they are arguing in languages different from the ones they used to speak because someone mixed the powders up!

Shark repellant! The fact that they just happened to have a can of it on the batcopter is great. And the phony looking shark is funny too.

The fight scene near the end on the submarine. All those "BAM" and "WHACK"s make me laugh for some reason.

Joker's lines. All of them. That's just me, though.

#37 Jul 14th, 1:51pm

I love the Penguin and Catwoman. She was in there, wasn't she? Oh yeah, the BAM! Whack! Ow! and the "Holy United Nations, Batman!" etc. I love it!

#38 Jul 14th, 1:55pm
Sideshow Bob Roberts

Yeah, Catwoman was there. I like it when she rubs Penguin's arm and he does that quack and jumps a bit.

I forgot, the part where batman tries to get rid of the bomb but keeps running into something. People, ducks, a marching band, nuns! "You just can't get rid of a bomb nowadays." Classic.

We were talking - about the space between us all

And the people - who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion

Never glimpse of truth - then it's far too late - when they pass away

We were talking - about the love we could all share - when we find it

To try our best to hold it there - with our love

With our love - We could save the world - if they only knew

Try to realise it's all within yourself no-one else can make you change

And to see you're really only very small, and life flows on wit-hin and wit-hout you

We were talking - about the love that's gone so cold and the people,

Who gain the world and lose their soul - then you may find,

peace of mind, is waiting there

And the time will come when you see we're all one, and life flows on within and without you

- Within You Without You by The Beatles

The best bits for me are usually the reunions. The tearful reunion of rifts clearing away between a father and a daughter (think What a Girl Wants), the happily ever after of a long series (end of Deathly Hallows). And I love seeing family and friend support for the main characters. I love it when they show problems and then appropriately resolve those problems. I also love a good sense of humor. Think Fred and George Weasley, Harry Potter series. Gred and Forge just ....have me in splits.

Then, of course there are the suspenseful parts. Almost the end, but not quite. Think Voldemort and Harry's last battle.

But, a Happy Ending is the best. They make it all worthwhile.
