Kan took a look around. It was indeed a quiet place. There were not many large buildings around, and he seemed to be surrounded by large farms. 'Guess this is his hometown...' Kan though as he got himefl up and hobbled along, clutching his stomach. Much of the wound had been healed, all that was left was this painful sensation that seem to etch itself around his gut. He wouldn't be walking under normal circumstances.

“ Well, where should we go?” Kan asked, his voice slightly weak.

Grey gave Kan a solemn look. The town was so quiet it was a little

unnerving. "We're going to his sister's grave sight" he said "I dont

know what posessed him, but he wanted to go, its best we let him pay

tribute" he said hushedly, though in no attempt to keep from Shu

what he was saying. It was simply that the air in the town was so

still, it seemed wrong to disturb the quiet.

Shu took a deep breath as he looked around. The cool air felt relaxing as it filled his lungs and the silence was also relaxing. It was at this moment that Shu realized he took the silent and quaint little town for granted for many years.

Kan merely nodded at the statement. He found this slightly tedious, but then again, there was no harm in paying your respects to the dead. Kan understood Shu's need to do this, having some vague idea on something that he had suffered before and needed this probably to ease his soul. Come to think of it, he hadn't visited his father's grave in a while. Kan merely shrugged. Perhaps when he had the time. He wasn't the one in need of soul searching at the moment.

He looked up. Even the sky looked gloomy, or either that, a number of clouds were gathering. Kan was still slightly worried about what he had heard in the encounter with the Ryus previously, and he hoped the rest of them were alright. He wanted to meet up with the rest of the fleet, eager to see then after so long.

Grey could feel greif around the air, there was sadness and confusion,

all kinds of ambiguant emotions. He looked up at the same gloomy sky

that he hoped was blue over Rin. As the rounded on the cemetery,

Grey stopped walking. He just stood there, with his eyes closed.

They probably wouldnt notice the grave, but this graveyard,

it made Grey think about when he died. He hoped it rained at his funeral

that would mean the sky was crying for the first man to grace its

open surface. The tears would sink into the soil, and reach his body,

where it was decaying slowly. Did the bodies of angels decompose?

He wondered. If so, what happened to the bodies of the damned?

Shu walked between a row of tombstones and finally stopped and turned toward two tombstones; the graves of his sister and mother. Looking at the graves, his breath got short, a dull pain engulfed his chest, and he was on the brink of tears. Horrid memories of his sister's death flashed before his eyes, the memories felt like she had only died yesterday.

"Sis, it should have been me that died that night," Shu said silently as a single tear escaped his brown eyes.

Grey let out a noise and his face looked as though he had heartburn. "I- uh sorry

shu, i cant stand here" he said, excusing himself shamefully. His head was pounding,

it seemed whenever Grey recieved a strong emotion, all the others were also amplified.

Grey could hear a buzzing in his ears, and his head throbbed, his heart feeling sick

and depressed for reasons that were not his own. Grey knelt before a random

tomb a few rows away from Shu and Kan, he prayed a little for the dead soul. This

didt get to far since he had not an elegy to recite for the unknown man.

Horrid memories began to creep into Shu's mind once again. He saw a large burning building, felt the intense heat in the air, smelt the smoke of the burning wood, and most of all he heard the horrible screech of his sister's cries for help. The memory felt so unbelievably real, but in an instant the memory faded and the reality of his sister grave replaced it.

From the looks of it, it seemed that Grey and Shu didn't like the cemetery that much at all, from their expressions. Shu stared down at the two tombstones with sad passive face, his eyes starting to water as he stared down at the two tombstones. Kan decided to stand aside and allow him some space to think things through. Grey went to some random tomb, Kan assumed it was random, because he was quite sure Grey didn't have any relatives here and he was just praying out of respect.

Kan looked around the place. He wasn't particularly depressed or anything, since after all the cemetery was a place where the ones who have passed away. He waited patiently for them to finish, waiting by the side, clasping his hand together to give a short prayer out of respect for the dead and waited quietly.

Shu tried to move the bad memories to the back of his mind. He then clasped his hands together and began to pray for his dead family members.

Grey stood up and staggered to the edge of the graveyard. What was this new feeling

that was entering his conciousness? Somehow, it was his own. Once he had cleared the

last tomb, he felt a little aleviated of the mental stress he had endured. He stood

against a tree and watched the duo at the graves. Grey's eyes caught a freshly dug

grave. "Pity" he said, almost ridiculing himself into insanity.

Shu finally separated his hands and looked at the graves again. "I'll see you later," he whispered.

"OK, I'm ready to leave now," Shu said to Kan.

Grey looked to his side out of the corner of his eye. They were coming his way. Shu

was done already? He pushed himself up off the tree, and pushed his hair out of his

eyes. His mismatched clothing itched, and the dress shirt was so thin that Grey was

shivering in the cool Michigan air. A small bird fluttered happily through the air.

The fleet leader flicked up his collar and turned his back on the melancholy of the

graveyard. He looked into the sky's lifeless texture, then checked to see if anyone

in the town was up and about, but it seemd the day was to dismal and rainy for them,

and the three of them were alone. Once he had confirmed it, he spread out his wings

and shook his feathers straight. "Come on boys, it's time for reunion" he smirked

Shu turned back to the graveyard for a moment and said silently, "Until the day I die, I may never see you two again." He was speaking to his mother and sister, or rather, their graves.

Shu then turned to Grey and spread his wings. "Ready when you are Grey."

"I'm always ready" he whispered to himself, lifting off with more force than he ever

had before. It was so invigorating, but to Grey it seemed to lose it luster, he circled

around them. "Kan, you still need a lift?" he asked sternly.

Shu flapped his wings to hover off the ground. Once he got to a height of 10 feet, he waited mid-air for the others.

“ Damn, I don't heal that quickly. Hope you don't mind giving me one more ride to California, Grey,” Kan said, grinning slightly, knowing that he was going to be leaving for the reunion. He enticipated this a bit, and was eager for it to start.

“ I'm ready...when you are...” Kan said to Grey.

"Oh thats right, we'll have to see what fey can do about you" called grey, swooping

down and attempting to scoop Kan up. Unfourtunately it wasnt that easy. He slipped,

and came up without Kan. "Jump when i say jump" called Grey. He rounded back, flying

down toward Kan. Once he was speeding in, very close to Kan, he shouted "Jump!"

Kan did a strange kind of limp-jump that looked altogether strange, but it have him

enough uplift for Grey to securely grasp his wrist and lift him into the air with

limited difficulty. He grunted, lifting Kan higher into the standard postition, carrying

him from under his arms. "California huh?" he said. "I hope they stay put damn it"

"To California" Shu said beginning to fly in a West Southwest direction.

Kan sighed softly, his legs dangling down in the rushing aircurrent. He had nothing

to streamline the air, and thus it caused him to float backward in an almost weightless

state. His hair whipped around his face, getting in his eyes.

Grey manipulated the wind with slight anglings of his feathers. "The air

up here is nice, but i can feel some moisture, theres a storm a few kilometers

ahead" hs shouted over the wind. "Steer clear of it, and we should make it to

California in an 2 or 3 hours

"Got it," Shu responded. "How big do you think this storm is?"

“ Looks big,” Kan replied, looking ahead, seeing storm clouds gathering all around, an ominous sign up in the air. Indeed, there was an increase in moisture in the air. Kan could feel it. “ 2 or 3 hours eh? Well, let's get going then,” Kan said, allowing Grey to fly him along

They were in a large streatch of land. Grey faintly recognised it as

an airplane runway. "Those three are really close" he said "Kan, can

i let you down on your feet yet?" he asked, his eyes quickly darting

around, there were a lot of planes here, and they couldn't be spotted,

that would really screw things up.

"Grey we should probably get away from this airspace," Shu suggested. "Being anywhere near these planes is a bad idea."

"We'll land, but we cant leave here, the other three are close by, witin a 2 mile

radius is my best guess, but thats only judging from how strong their signals are"

Grey assesed, trying his best to let Kan down softly, and then circling backward,

to land for himself. The road was dusty, and there was a small gas station to it's

side. Grey blinked his eyes, the large planes were full of people with all sorts

of strong emotions. Excitement, anxiety, joy, and for the bussinessmen, boerdom,

though that wasnt really an emotion, and Grey could only feel it out by a gray

abscence of emotion. There were migranes growing behind his eyes and in his sinuses,

but the leader ignored them blatantly, fixing his sights on a trio walking from

the gasstation in front of them. "Guys" Grey got the other two's attention "Look"

"Is that them?" Shu asked landing as gently as possible.
