Topic: I feel like we needed a new thread

LOL, we have a terrible knack for creating 5 page threads. Probably a good thing...

Glad everyone liked the update and that it answered questions. Yes, I wish more of my stories just "wrote" themselves, haha. One more chapter for that story and then the end. But I do have Until the End and a few other one-shots in mind. So not the complete end for me :)What's everyone been up to lately? I'm on reading break so I have no school this week. Its meant for students to read/study/catch up on any work but as one of my professors once said "The only thing I suspect you'll be studying are beer bottles". Gotta love that!

Hmmm... yeah there must be like 2 or 3 threads with 5 pages, oh well. Let's start anew!! :)

Yay more stories, good on ya take5!! I have this terrible habit of procrastinating, but I have another chapter underway for 'Life and its strange ways'... I can never find a good title for my stories :(

Fun reading break- is that like a 'study leave'? ;) I've got school now, but I guess it's alright! Though I'm kind of not getting why we're studying 'Mayans and Incas and Aztecs' in History... well History is fun, next I think we're going to study 'The Black Death'!!!

Haha I've just been reading a hilarious story by lnl002 on LJ, if you haven't already read it (which I know take5 has)- Read it now and the chapters before it!! ;)

Oh and everyone Happy Belated Valentines Day!! Anyone get any chocolate or flowers?! ;)

Well have fun with a little break take5, as long as it doesn't concern studying the entire time! I have today off where I'd like to take the time to honor the great presidents of the past because our present one ain't really worth honoring. So go Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Jefferson, Kennedy, and a few others I can't name at the moment.

It's okay Mak I'm a horrible procrastiater too! I'll try reading the story when I get the time. ^_^

And yes Happy Belated Valentines day, I still have a late House fic to put up about Vday. I'll try finishing it today! I got a few Valentines, only one from a guy in my class, thats cool cause I wasn't exspecting any! lol. ^_^

Haha, thanks for starting this thread, take5. We do have quite a habit of making really long threads, don't we? Oh well. I hope you have fun on your break... studying lol ;). I have my break next week, though I'll be on vacation for the week, so I won't be around here.

Yay Jayne may be back then!!! I remember reading somewhere that Audrey had died (at that time I hadn't watched that ep where Marilyn told Jack she was dead) so what I did was I quickly checked on IMDb Kim Raver's page and Lo and behold it said Kim was to appear in... a lot of episodes in Season 6!! I thought that was kinda weird. But anyway what I'm trying to say is that IMDb might be right, as they were with Kim's character coming back... if that made sense, I'm terrible at explaining *sweatdrop*. Well like you said Palmer better wait for conformation from Fox!! ;)

Yeah it kinda sucks you guys have breaks while we have to go to school... can't wait to have my study break in a years time then!!!

hahaha. You do realize we love Logan because we love Gregory Itzin? hehe. I can't hate Logan when I watch because all I can see is the hilarious Gregory! lol. ^_^

Poor Mak, my problem with explaining is everytime there's a long explaination I give online and I'm like wow that took 4 ever but it looks good, tells the whole story. Then I go to post/send/submit and either "I haven't logged on" (myspace) or "internet is disconnected" (thats when I use my bros laptop, horrible internet connection) then I'll click back and it says web page exspired! That happened once when I was posting Karen's history on the Story thread, I almost pulled my hair out!! So I must get in a habit of copying before posting. haha.

This conversation brings me to the fact of my Pink Razr. lol. Thats abstract, but I'm getting one for an early B-Day Present! (Because we're updating our phone plan!) It'll be here by friday or thursday. (I guess it goes the other way huh?) I'll be like Jack looking around, talking on my cell! hehe. I'll do that every so often as a salute to 24.

BTW has anyone here seen The Invasion? Good Movie I watched it today!

Yeah, you just can't hate Logan because Greg is like soooooo hilarious (like in the commentaries on the episodes in the season 5 dvds- and one of them was incidentally one of my favourite eps- the one with the 'Motorcade attack', I guess he is funny in the Season 6 ep too, with Jean, again?) Oh and Jean Smart she's also really humorous!!! Go Jean and Greg, oh and Jayne and James!!

I hate it when that happens, Huddyalways!!! I'm like posting this like really long post and then it says some thing about the connection not working or FF.net server is too busy etc. :( When I go back a page when that happens to me, there's like this blank post- box and everything I had previously typed had just disappeared!!! Haha yeah I'm doing that lately copying my message before sending it, because you never know what will happen next lol!

I really do hope that Jayne is back. That would just be awesome.

I don't really know what my break is for, Huddy. It's just a winter break (we've got a week off in the winter and then a week off at the end of April) because my school feels like not having school. I'm not complaining though. :D

And Mak, I loved Juno!!! Such a funny movie, and everything about it was superb. The acting was great, the story was great, the writing was great- I just loved it. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

I absolutely adore those commentaries by Greg and Jean. :D They're so funny!

And I hope you feel better, Huddy! Why do you have to be okay by Thursday?

LOL, ok too many posts have gone by without me adding my two cents so here we go:

1) I love Greg Itzin, *love* him. And I totally love Charles Logan, and yes because of Greg. He is one of those actors, like JA and JM that I will follow everywhere now. Same with Jean Smart.

2) Huddy, I think you just love that highlighting tool! And you'll find any occasion to use it, lol!

3) I agree that Juno was a good movie, a rare find these days. I even saw it twice ;)

4) I am struggling writing my next update for UTE. Its about Bill and Karen moving in together so if anyone has anything particular about that type of scenario they would like to read let me know. This way you get what you want and I get inspiration.

take5- It's not like I'm completely crazy about the highlighting thing!! lol. Well I know what ya mean about following actors now. I was so excited about Samantha Who? Anyone seen it? It had Jean (24 obviously), Christina applegate, Melissa M. (Gilmore Girls), Jennifer...hehe(from a few things, and the dad I know from somewhere! lol. I was happy! I get a lot of my favorite comedys from following actors. Oh and Sounds like a cool scenario, I tell ya if I have any thought.

Hmm, I've never seen Samantha Who, but I heard it was really good. And of course, it's got Jean in it, so how bad can it be, right? :) Maybe I'll have to check it out sometime.

And I hope you all read the new BK story by samantha1988 called "Here Without You." It's a really great story! Yay for more people writing BK stories! :D

Mak- Sorry I beat you to adding the stories to the C2. I promise I'll lay off of the next one, how about that? :) And wow, that B/K thing was just... wow. So cool.

Aww, Huddy, you'll be okay! They'll be able to tell that you have a cold, I'm sure, and they're also probably used to listening to people with colds. Maybe they'll be able to see past the cold. Just go out there and give it your best. Drink some orange juice, take a cough drop, and you can completely crash and feel horrible after your tryout. :D Good luck, though.

Thanx guys. I had my tryout and the thing that made me feel really bad was he asked what part I wanted and I said Gabrella. Well I've been focusing on When There Was Me and You cause I love that song, know it by heart and hoped I could sing it. This may sound silly but he picked the song for me to sing and that makes me feel worse because it was a perfect set up audition but my stupid voice wouldn't sound right! =[ But hopefully he'll give me a good part, I do doubt it though, I never seem to get another that I put heart into, High schools beginning to be a drag. I wonder if I'll even make Chamber Choir? Hm...

Yeah the BK pills!! haha. ^_^ I needed that! And I'm happy to have united the BKs together. It started because I wanted to talk BK and me and take5 were talking about it in reviews and stuff so I figured a forum would be better. ^_^ It worked.

Well the next time you guys talk to me, (maybe not Mak but the other2 of ya) I'll know if I'm doomed with a background part for the next 4 months, or something I can really give my all and someone will notice! ):)

Aww, well I hope you get a good part, Huddy. Still, it won't be the end of the world if you don't end up with Gabriella (after all, she is the lead, which would be hard for a freshman to get). Everyone starts somewhere! I really hope you get a good part, though.

Haha yep, I own a Mac, well technically it's my dad's computer, but I say it's mine because no one else uses other than me! How could you tell it's a Mac? All my life really I've only had Mac computers, so it's quite an adjustment at school when we only have PC!!

Haha, Mak has a Mac. I love it. I love Macs. They're so much better than PCs, but unfortunately, it's my dad with the Mac and me with the PC since that was all I could afford. :( Oh well. And you can tell it's a Mac by the way its set out. If it were a PC, it'd have a little start menu in the bottom left hand corner.

;) Yeah I have to agree with you Palmer, Macs are so much better than PCs aye!! Macs hardly have any viruses!! When I leave for Uni, my dad said he'd buy me a mac laptop, since I currently don't have a computer of my own- though I think I have enough for one *searches how much a Mac laptop costs*. Those laptops can cost $999- $3000, yay I'll just have enough, I think... *shakes piggybank out- some coins and dollar bills fall out*... maybe not.

Excellent observations guys, yes I know it's pretty obvious to tell if it's a Mac or a PC! Macs Rock!!!! ;)

And no, I had no idea that Erin Driscoll was listed to come back in season 7! Maybe she'll come back at Jack's hearing or whatever it is about his past. I bet they'll bring back a lot of old faces that way.

:( Erin Driscoll- I don't like her character, there's just something about her.... that I don't like. Well gotta feel sorry for her, for loosing her daughter and all. Maybe they'll finally kill her character off, hmm that's a bit mean isn't it. But everyone on 24 is going to die at some stage, maybe not Jack (actually we'll see about that), but Chloe, Morris, Wayne, two characters I won't mention 'cos I don't want to jinx it and many other characters- who are still alive are all at risk of actually being 'killed off'.

If a character has survived more that 2 seasons, they are most definitely lucky!! If they've survived more than 3 seasons, they're either really awesome bad characters ie Nina or they help Jack out and shouldn't be killed off. Chase Edmunds was lucky, he just got his hand cut off and reattached and just walked out of the show. Hmm maybe that will happen to Bill and Karen (minus the getting the hand get cut off business). Hmm enough of my pondering I really should go.

2 weeks/14 days.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry!

God I don't know what happened! I've been too tired lately to even get online. I'm not sure what it is. Well the HSM thing, Im a student/dancer, great! (Sarcaism.) Dammit. Makes me mad cause this brat freshman (shes in drama with me.) got Sharpay. He didn't give those of us who were sick a chance. My friend had lost her voice to. Oh well I guess.

Well my ballet teacher is gone for this week on some island somewhere so no dance besides tap tomorrow and play practice doesn't start til next week. So I'm free. I've been busy working on my story "The Meaning Of Betrayal" and I've got a lot of work to do on it. Jeez. It's pretty long and since I lost all but 3 chapters of it (They were online) it's gonna be 4ever.

Happier news, I'm excited my TV show Back To You came back! Love it, I see a ship! lol. It's just I would write a fic in honor of a new found awesome ship but they haven't added it. I sent an email about adding new shows and no reply so idk.

Also!!!! OOOOO!!! I got all excited. I was bored watching TV with Mumma. (haha. I started calling her that cause mamma getting old and the only reason I started was because of The movie Carrie.) My sister came downstairs and said I should watch Medium tonight because the old president from 24 was gonna be on it. I was like, Dennis? Thats pretty cool. Then when I asked which one she goes the bad on gregory or something! I jumped up run up the stairs to take a shower so I could watch it! lol. I was so excited!! Oh and he's a dirty politician! Perfect right? hehe.

I'm gonna read your new story tonight Mak and the others tomorrow!

Well I should go to bed after reading so night. (One more thing, anyone ever heard of "The Elements of Style" If not consider getting it, it helps with you writing! My aunt gave it to me. ^_^)

BTW be glad that you at least got a part!!! ;) Congratulations Huddyalways!!!! Huddyalways did an audition with a cold, better than me I wouldn't even turn up for the audition if I was sick... but that's just me! ;) (If that 'brat' who got Sharpay is such a brat when you see her running someplace accidently drop a banana right before her so she slips and falls over on it and can't play the role!!! No... that's just mean, never wish/do something bad to people, remember 'Karma') Hmm that reminds me this Mayor of someplace in my country was saying all this stuff about how these allergy sufferers are just faking their reactions and doesn't believe people could die from allergies etc and then just a tiny bit after he says all that his daughter is diagnosed with leukemia and they find she also has a fungal disease in her lung. In the end she was fighting for her life and finally pulled through. Talk about bad/good timing. Poor Mayor though.

Yay your shows are coming back!! It's funny (well not really) but I saw one of my fav shows 'CSI:Miami' was back on TV... I later found that they were just re-runs... :( Not cool. Unless they're playing the season with the episode James M is in?! I need to check.

Greg was on Medium!! I'm seeing so few actors on TV I know from 24 lately! Well William Devane was on this random show I saw a few months back actually, oooh and Greg he was in like Boston Legal or something, oh and Julian Sands was in like two shows, um Ghost Whisperer and Law and Order I think it was.... and yeah that's pretty much it. BUT Jayne is on Criminal Minds this Thursday!!! (It's the last episode of the season) Yay!!!!!

Oh, there's no need to apologize, Huddy! We just figured that you were busy, which it looks like was true. Don't worry about it!

And that's a shame about not getting the HSM part you wanted. But still, everyone has to start somewhere. You've got three more years! I know lots of people at my high school who started in the ensemble in their freshman year, but were getting lead parts by their junior and senior years. There's always the one person (it's the brat, as you said) who gets a lead in their freshman year, but the majority of people start in the ensemble and work their way up. Don't give up on it. You've got loads of time, and there will always be other plays.

Ooh, that's exciting that your other show came back! It makes me so happy that some are starting to come back. My other show, Gossip Girl, comes back in the middle of April, so I'm excited for that, even though 24 doesn't come back until next January. :(

Hmm, "The Elements of Style." I hadn't heard of that one, but it looks like a good one. I have several books on writing that are extremely helpful, too. There are two series that I've found that are great. My favorite is the "Write Great Fiction" series. My favorite in that series is the "Plot and Structure" book (I also have the "Description and Setting" one, but it's only all right), but I've heard that the "Characters, Emotions, and Viewpoints" is fantastic too. The other series that I found was the "Elements of Fiction Writing" series. I've got the "Characters and Viewpoints" book in that series, and it's great. I'd check out the reviews before buying too many books from that series, though, because I've heard that buying one of those books is either a great buy or not worth your money. Anyway, sorry for the novel on the books I have, but reading those has really helped me understand characterization and plot development.

So .... I'm just curious, since I have absolutely no idea, freshman... since we don't have fancy words where I am for year levels can someone please explain what the word 'freshman' means!!! ;)

No wonder you guys are such good writers you have these writing books to guide you!! I can't seem to find any books on grammar or writing in my house (explains a lot doesn't it)! :( I guess next time I'm in a bookstore I'll look out for those books you've suggested there Palmer!

*sigh* 4 weeks back into the new school year and I've got 5 assignments due and 4 exams and next week!! We were only like told about them this week, it's not fair!!!!!

You have exams next week? No way!! I've got the frickin WASL!!! Someone who will feel pain too!! haha.

Anyway, in America we have 4 grades in High School. The first years are 9th grade and are called Freshmen, second years are 10th grade and are called Sophomores, third years are 11th grade and are call Juniors, and fourth years are 12th grade and are called Seniors. So thats the High School layout!! lol.

Yes it is William Strunk but it was edited by the EB White and it's the illistrated version so it has like a bunch of aweomse paintings like metaphores and stuff. It helps. I think I'll check into those though Palmer.

Well I should work on my Romeo and Juliet Essay, I have to write an 800 word essay on who's to blame for their deaths! I'm blamming Tybalt and Friar 'Larry' (as my LA teacher said today! lol. He's hilarious.)

Want to hear a Math teacher quote? "If you dont have notes, you dont exsist!" haha. My teacher said that yesterday. We're doing proofs so most of class the last month has been notes so if you dont have them wow! lol.

Let's see the high school/college system works 2 ways there are 5 'high school/college' years, they are Year 9, Year 10, Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13- these years are also called 3rd form (Year 9) 4th form (Year 10) 5th form (Year 11) 6th form (Year 12) and finally 7th form which is equivalent to Year 13. So the numbers aren't exactly the same to those in the US I believe.

Each new year starts from the start of the year, example- Just say last year (2007) I was in Year 12 (I wish) this year since Jan 2008 I have been in Year 13.

Okay, that really didn't make sense did it?! There is a cut off during the year to figure out which year level you are in, in NZ the cut off is around March, April, June (it varies, depending which school you go to). So if you were born in Jan 6 1992 you would be in Year 12, and if you were born in October 2 1992 you would be in Year 11. But if you were born in April 1993 you could be in Year 10 or 11 (this could be either your or your school's decision.

Kind of get it? Maybe not... Look below ↓

If you were born in Jan 1992- You'd be Year 12

If you were born in Sep 1992- You'd be Year 11

If you were born in Jan 1993- You'd be Year 11

If you were born in Sep 1993-You'd be Year 10

If you were born in Jan 1994- You'd be Year 10

If you were born in Sep 1994- You'd be Year 9

It's so confusing!

Wow, Mak. Thanks for all of the info! That must have taken forever to type. I think I got it, though. It made me sad- if I was in NZ, I'd be in Year 13, which would mean that I'd be going to university next year. I'm glad I'm in the US and I still have one more year before I go off to university! :D

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Jack Bauer gets to save the world in the fall, after all. The producers of Fox's "24" are developing a two-hour "prequel" to the upcoming seventh season of the real-time thriller.

The movie, designed to bridge the two-year gap between Seasons 6 and 7, is targeted to air in the fall, leading to the show's January return.

"24" was one of the biggest casualties of the writers strike. Three days after the work stoppage began on November 5, Fox decided against airing a partial season of the serialized drama with the eight episodes produced before and during the first weeks of the walkout.

Each season of "24" is a closed arc that takes place in real time over a 24-hour period. The upcoming seventh season of the Emmy-winning series is set in Washington and features the first female U.S. president, played by Cherry Jones. Kiefer Sutherland stars as Jack Bauer, the government agent with a busy work day.

At the end of the writers strike three weeks ago, there were rumblings about a possible split of the seventh season into two parts to air in the fall and in midseason. But Fox was quick to put those rumours to rest, reiterating that the show's scheduling pattern would remain intact with a January launch.

The "24" writing team is back at work, with production on the remaining episodes of the seventh season slated to begin in April. Missing from the writers room is the series co-creator/executive producer Joel Surnow, who left at the end of the strike.

So, what do you think? I'm excited for a long prequel in the fall. That should be really cool. Plus, it was going to be a wicked long time to have to wait until January '09 for 24, so this should break it up a little. I'm a little concerned that Joel Surnow left, who was one of the original creators. I hope that doesn't mean that things go really far downhill from here on out.

My one hope, though- BK ARE IN THE PREQUEL!!!! :D :D :D And not fighting, either. We need a plot line that shows how they might have had a few rough spots in the beginning, but they were able to work though it and they're still together. That's what we need, and let's hope that we get it in the fall!

ETA: And I keep finding more stuff! But this is really, REALLY good news!!! Of course, IMDB is not exactly a reliable source, so we can't take it to heart just yet. But... ON JAYNE'S PAGE, IT LISTS HER AS COMING BACK FOR SEASON 7!!!!! It's only got her listed for the first episode, but still!!!! That's so awesome and exciting!!!! Lol Mak. You're used to seeing my name written as LBP. I know James is definitely back, so if Jayne's back, that means BK FOR SEASON 7! But it makes me wonder what they're going to do with Audrey. Cuz... is Kim Raver still pregnant? Nevertheless, she's on Lipstick Jungle now. I watched it for Kim, thought it sucked.

The only thing I have looking forward to now is if Bryan Spicer directs all the episodes for S7.
