![]() There is really no difference. Alright is the popular slang of all right and according to the dictionary can be used interchangably. The only exception being: Were you all right, or were you wrong? That's an entirely different meaning though, since 'all' was addressing a group. 3/11/2009 #1,471 |
![]() Thank you! 3/11/2009 #1,472 |
![]() ^^ 3/11/2009 #1,473 |
![]() The Beta glitch has been fixed. If you're a new Beta, then your profile should show on the lists. 3/18/2009 #1,474 |
![]() Yeah, they emailed me a while back about it. Apparently the glitch has been there a while :S 3/18/2009 #1,475 |
![]() I was wondering if there is a forum somewhere to suggest and discuss changes on the site. The reason for this is that I would suggest a 'submit story for adoption' feature as an alternative to simply abandoning a story or trying to find someone willing to continue the story by asking random people personally (I was lucky someone asked me but people who would rather not abandon their stories have to find someone willing to continue them the hard way). 3/25/2009 #1,476 |
![]() There isn't one that I know of, but you can try typing things like 'site changes' or something in the search box... or you could make one yourself. That's a good idea, by the way. 3/25/2009 #1,477 |
![]() You can also try to find or make a thread in an existing forum too. It's been done a few times, and I think a few of the discussions might have caught on for a while. 3/25/2009 #1,478 |
![]() How do you giva a story to a c2? For example, if you are a staff of a cummunity, how do you give them a story that you wrote for them? 4/04/2009 #1,479 |
![]() Go to your story through your profile (not the user login, but click you name on that post), click the story you want to add to the C2, then go down to the review button and select 'Add to C2'. 4/04/2009 #1,480 |
![]() Thank you so much!!!! 4/04/2009 #1,481 |
![]() Np! I was hoping you wer still there. :D 4/04/2009 #1,482 |
![]() Um...I try logging on, and when I'm logged on, it takes me to my Control Panel on Fanfiction. When I go to any other page, it automatically logs me off. *I can't find the post reply button, so I'm using this. 4/11/2009 #1,483 |
![]() what is the difference between crosover fanfic and normal fanfic? its actually my first time reading fanfic. and i just started reading manga:D can anyone also give me recomendations... 4/11/2009 #1,484 |
![]() You should check your cookies on your computer, IcePhoenix. As for... cyeah... Crossovers are where two different realms or casts from different shows are used. Like Teen Titans with Looney Toons or something. 4/12/2009 #1,485 |
![]() O.o Cookies? What the hell? Explain. xD 4/12/2009 #1,486 |
![]() What browser are you using? Usually you can go to Tools- Options- Clear my cookies. 4/12/2009 #1,487 |
![]() Yeah, even a Superman/Batman fic can be considered a crossover, even though canon (the people who own the rights) do it all the time. 4/13/2009 #1,488 |
![]() Okay, first of all, I apologize since I don't know how to post a comment in forums and just hit "reply". ^_^;; But I do have a question... Do you know the Mercy Thompson series (Moon Called, Blood Bound, Iron Kissed, and Bone Crossed)? It's about werewolves, vampires, and all that junk, and the author is Patricia Briggs. Now, Briggs also wrote another series that's kind of related to the Mercy Thompson series, called the "Alpha and Omega series"... But I can't find that category anywhere on FF. I don't know if it's because no one thought to write any stories pertaining to that particular series, or simply because there is no subject area for people to put in a story for it. I have looked for the series under the main character's name, but it wasn't there. And I've looked for it under the "T" letter section, just in case it was put up with "The" in front. Am I missing something? Basically, I'm asking if it's under a different name (though I don't see why it would be) so I could read fics for it and maybe post one of my own up; or if there's a moderator or someone I could ask to have that category put on FF if it really isn't anywhere on here. Though I could see both of the series just being pushed into the "Mercy Thompson series" since there aren't many fics posted up to begin with, but they really are two seperate series. Anyways, I hope I made some sense and I didn't make too much of a fool of myself. Thanks. :) 4/13/2009 #1,489 |
![]() I just started a community because I'm bored and I figured it gives me an excuse to find stuff. Would it be proper to pm the stories I add before hand? Or it doesn't matter? 4/13/2009 #1,490 |
![]() Vesper: If the series isn't there, then it isn't there. You e-mail categories (at) fanfiction (dot) com. Ghost Writer: What you're doing is just proper manners. Usually authors get e-mail alerts and/or see it on their old stats page. 4/14/2009 #1,491 |
![]() Just to add Vesper, the only way to post a reply is to hit the reply button. 4/14/2009 #1,492 |
![]() How do you change your avatar? I'm getting a little tired of this standard one... And... er... with my lack of spelling abilities it could be nice to know how to edit... 4/19/2009 #1,493 |
![]() Well, there is a topic called "FAQ" I'm sure (it's been a long time since I've read it) it'd have the answers you seek, or if not, the first page of this topic as I recall has something about the profile picture. Anyhow, to edit a reply, as I presume that's what you meant, you click on the "Mod" buttorn just under reply, then click on edit and then save. To change your profile picture, you click on the log in part on the page, then go to the link that says "Aviter." Then you enter that and find the picture (browsing) in your documents or where ever the picture is, then you select it and then press change. It should take up to an hour. Good luck:) 4/19/2009 #1,494 |
![]() Thanks for the help! I guess opening your eyes may prove useful sometimes... and... not only can't I spell... I can't read either... I read the mod as mood... 4/19/2009 #1,495 |
![]() Hey...how do you add people to your cummunity? As in how, do you add people to your staff... 4/19/2009 #1,496 |
![]() Ghost writer... you don't have to, but it would be proper. Either way, the person will find out. Fanfiction will say it when they look in thier stats page... 4/19/2009 #1,497 |
![]() ok, can someone explain the whole difference between the hits and visitors on the story traffic thing. 4/19/2009 #1,498 |
![]() yup. Ok, hits is how many times a person has clicked on your story. while visitors is how many perople have actually visted your story. For example, If I click on your story twice, your stats page would say "2 hits, 1 visitor. " That is because your story was opened twice, but only by one person. Thats how it works 4/19/2009 #1,499 |
![]() Actually, I think they're defined by how long you been on the page. Like a visitor is a person that hits on the page briefly. A hit is a person that stayed and pro'lly actually read your story. I'm not sure now, lol 4/20/2009 #1,500 |
