Anime I remember seeing.

Princess Monoke (sp), Sailor Moon, Visions of Escaflowne, Metropolis (especially entertaining and smart), All of Ghost in the Shell (including the movies, series, and Taachikoma Days shorts), Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Dot Hack (Most of Roots, and bits and pieces of Sign), Bravo Girls (very crude), Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, Final Fantasy The Spirits Within, Full Metal Alchemist, Pokemon (most of it), Digimon (bits and pieces), My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Castle in The Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, Dragonball Z (bits and pieces, detested it), Elfen Lied, Rurouni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, Bleach, MAR, Zatch Bell, One Piece, Naruto, Prince of Tennis, Lupin the Third, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, and maybe a few more movies other than the one Miyazaki movie I can't quite remember.

Edit: Yugi-oh GX, Alexander The Great (title may be off), Some of Neo Genesis Evangelion, Some of the first Gundam Wing, maybe two episodes of Speed Racer, Eureka 7, AniMatrix, Trigun, Tenchi Muyo, No Need For Tenchi, Noein.

I like Ranma 1/2. It's quite funny.

Agreed. Ramna Satome is the funniest person in anime.

For me it would be either Hellsing or Elfen Lied

Hah, I've seen all but 2 of those. And I see you haven't seen Mononoke or Ayakashi. Did you list the series so people wouldn't suggest something you've already seen?

My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Castle in The Sky, Howl's Moving Castle,

^ those are my favorite movies!

Ghibli studio films can be great. I will eventually see Gedo Senki.

I will eventually see Gedo Senki.

Just keep in mind when going to see that one that you won't be seeing "Tales of the Earthsea" but a fairly standard sword and sandal adventure flick that has barely anything to do with Le Guin's story apart from character names and a few references to the Earthsea world. Enjoyable to a degree, but nothing really to be excited about, like Howl's Moving Castle.

Howl's Moving Castle was different from the book as well. Ghibli studio films are Ghibli films. Disney's Little Mermaid was a hit, event hough it's very different from the actual fairytale.

Berlioz II
I haven't read Howl, but as regards Gedo Senki, the film has barely anything to do with Tales from the Earthsea. I certainly for one went to see an adaptation of the story, yet it was practically a completely original film in every way. Change the names of the characters and hey presto the Earthsea connection ceases to exist entirely. It's really more about that the film is advertised as being something entirely different to what the finished script and film actually is about, not to mention the end result is practically nothing more than a generic fantasy film than what the title of the film would have purported. What could have been an exceptional film due to its source material (though at that small a scale very hard to produce from the wealth of material available) turned out to be a very average film that is generally mismarketed and slapped together with stock Ghibli characters. I can see why Le Guin herself was extremely disappointed, though on its own the film is still reasonably entertaining.

Okay.

Well... Saber, you are correct when refering to my post. I listed them to mention all of the anime I've seen, and to add in two more, Nausica And the Valley of the Wind, and Big O.

That way when you suggest anime to me I have already seen I would be in the clear when I say I've already seen it.

Soo... whats Mononoke if it isn't Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke?

I'm intrigued at the suggestions you've made.

Mononoke is a general term used a lot in Japanese folklore. Mononoke are monsters/ghosts/demons that involve some sort of possession. Like a human spirit combining with an ayakashi (demon). It's a sickness of the soul/heart, etc. Mononoke are feared by people and seen as dangerous.

The series Mononoke is about mononoke. It's a spin-off from the last story arc in Ayakashi. I offered links, so I don't know why you thought it was the same thing as Princess Mononoke.

Amy.Leona.C-U
I didn't look up said links, nor did I feel I could spare the time while on my DS. I generally rely on comments found on these forums about shows I never heard of. I thought it was Princess Mononoke because it had a similar name, that's all, I don't know much yet about the terminology, I barely have a sucky translation dictionary.

I rarely ever go to links at the library cuz over half the time the either don't work for me or they're blocked.

You can get a good Japanese/English dictionary for the DS. It's DS Rakuhiki Jiten: Kanji Sono Mama.

Yeah, now to buy it, and more importantly, find it.

Hmm... good idea though. Its in Kanji?

Look it up on youtube and wikipedia. It's got some good Japanese/English dictionaries in it. www.play-asia.com has it, if you don't want to order it from amazon.co.jp.

I've always been into Robotech myself. It's my favorite, but I also like Naruto and Sailor Moon. Most of the Gundam shows are all right with me too.

I like Naruto and DN Angel. I've watched and dabbled in some of the other popular ones, too.

Sailor Moon, most (If not, all) Studio Ghibli films.

Ember's New Groove

Dragon Ball Z. It was the first Anime I ever watched, I grew up watching it. It's just the best in my opinion, if not only for the nostalgic element.

As of right now, this very moment:

Elfen Lied.

It's so...weird.

The Love Bug

Hullo! Thank you for posting this thread!

My favourites are Yu-Gi-Oh (come on, it's epic! And the manga is amazing!), Kaze To Ki No Uta (bring out the tissues!) Death Note and Yu Yu Hakusho.

I write for Naruto, though, and I liked it until the storyline became all Sasuke-centric and boring. (plus, i found better plotlines and artwork elsewhere :3)

D.NAngel was my first love, and Dark/Krad is my all-time favourite anime pairing.

Hmm...I like Princess Tutu and, uh, Princess Princess far too much. Ai No Kusabi, Saiyuki, Trinity Blood and Gundam Wing placate my not-so-inner fangirl (could you tell I like yaoi?).

Has anyone mentioned Hetalia yet? 'Cos that just rocks.

The Love Bug

Kinda obvious, but what about Strawberry Panic?

I don't thinkk there are any men in that at all (if that's what you're after!)

S1ither Hither

That's a tough one. I love too many animes to choose! :D Some of my favourites include:

Digimon

Dragon Ball Z

Yugioh

YuYu Hakusho

And Pokemon (Only the first few series though. Its started going downhill as of late. :|)

City Girl Dreamer

Death Note - My most favourite anime ever!

Gravitation - First yaoi anime...classic.

I've always been meaning to watch Naruto and Bleach, but so many people have said negative things about them and then some people have said positive things about them so...I actually have no idea whether to watch them or not...

To-Remember-Me-By

Heh, I haven't actually seen Naruto, Bleach or Death Note *shot* I was considering watching them myself.

One anime I've recently grown quite fond of, though, is YuYu Hakusho. It's totally bad ass! (And I love how the dubbers haven't dumbed it down for kids, either!)

Don't watch Bleach, go for Naruto and Death Note though :D

*cough*

One piece, hands down.

Definitely watch Death Note and Naruto! They're the best!

Bleach is alright but it can't compare to those two! ^_^

Death Note is awesome for dozens of reasons, one of wich is a line that will be ectched into the wall of anime quotes forever "Now I'm gonna take a potato chip, AND EAT IT!"
