MaaikeI started playing the guitar about a month ago. It's the summer holidays now, so I've nothing else to do and my father bought a guitar recently, but he never plays, so I sort of stole it from him. I really like playing and I play three times a day, but my fingers are getting quite painful now. I would love to play Queen and that's basically why I started playing in the first place. Right now I'm still working on the basics, but my nephew has played the guitar for several years now and he says that he can teach me some things. Is the Seven Seas of Rhye hard to play? Because I'd love to be able to do that!| #51 Jul 27th 2007, 1:16pm

East Coast RyderWell, technically by 'know how to play' I mean chords. Which sounds pretty cool, actually. Unfortunately I can't find really good tabs for 7SoR, but I think it's not that hard.Crazy little thing called love is really easy, though. | #52 Jul 27th 2007, 1:46pm

Maaikehttp://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/queen_tabs5.htmYou could try this site. My nephew recommended it to me and I found some good stuff on it. I'll try Crazy little thing called love. | #53 Jul 27th 2007, 2:46pm

East Coast Ryderhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjIMDNqxQf0Lookee here what I found- highlights from the Toronto Cast. Oh, that's where I go- but all the good ones need guitarpro, which I don't have and I'm not about to shell out $60 for it. | #54 Jul 29th 2007, 2:51pm

MaaikeGuitarpro is great. You can easily download the demo, but you can only use that one for fifteen days. I'll admit it, my family is very into downloading and my father downloaded the whole programme for me yesterday. By the way, I found the chords to "Too Much Love Will Kill You" and those chords are really easy. I can play along with the real song now and it's quite cool.| #55 Jul 31st 2007, 12:10am

East Coast RyderI just learned how to play chords for Under Pressure on my guitar. And the main chorus part is mostly just two chords repeating over and over. G A G A.Freaky. | #59 Aug 02nd 2007, 2:50pm

MaaikeWhat kind of guitar do you have? I have an acoustic one. My cousin's guitar is electric and we both play the chords to "Too much love will kill you" and he can also play the solo. I'll try "Under pressure." I'm also practising the chords of "Killer Queen", but that one is pretty hard, so I have to skip a few chords sometimes, because I can't play them. Do you have guitar lessons?| #61 Aug 02nd 2007, 11:54pm
|
|
East Coast RyderI have both. My family's got about eight guitars, two acousitc, six electric. Oh, and we have a bass. Dad teaches me a lot of stuff, but I really am bad at like, riffs and stuff. For a while we were thinking about lessons, but as it is, I'm not going to have time for anything.Well, I just got back from my cabin and we jammed all last night! Queen, Simon & Garfunkel, etc. Awesomeness. Campfire jam sessions= teh awesome. | #62 Aug 05th 2007, 5:31pm . Edited Aug 05th 2007, 5:49pm

WWRY chickright...as you can see im WWRYChick (and before you ask...no i dotn have fetahers and i dont lay eggs)...zara knows me off the WWRY boards as Jenna Lee James rocks...Im a wannabe Actress (in a family that does not support me in any way shape or form)and I have just earned a place in Brit school which I start next year. I have recently been scaramouche in my drama school play and loved every second! the last time i went to WWRY was my sixth time and i finally went to the stage door and met the cast!I am one of Jenna's biggest fans and I am quite upset she's going. I first saw WWRY as part fo our frech exchange (when the frenchies coem over here they go and see WWRY with us) and have been hooked ever since..Scara is my favorite character purely for the attitude and qucl witted sarcasticness that makes us all laugh. Apart from that i have a boyfreind tom (weve ina relationship for three years now) and i live with my parents and now no longer my half brother as he has just moved out WOOOOO!| #63 Aug 11th 2007, 1:16pm

Its making me think - always a good thing (I feel a little odd when not pondering on something. I'm odd like that.) BlueBohemianI'm back! And to go back quite a lot, geez was packing a complete mission. Bringing stuff back was even worse, 'cause we had to leave a case for my grandparents to bring over at the end of the month. I think I single handedly doubled the Canadian economy (the exchange rate makes everything half price, and the sales made everything 1/4 price than they would be here). Also, whoever it was who advised me to get a map for the West Ed, thank you! As far as Harry Potter goes, I decided I couldn't wait until I got back, dragged my parents all around Vancouver, then my dad decided I couldn't spend $30 on it, so I'd have to wait. Needless to say, it wasn't cheaper elsewhere, so we ended up getting it from a different branch of the original shop I'd seen it in. *rolls eyes* And I had to read it slowly, because we ended up going to Long Beach for 4 days, which was way past the back of beyond. On a completely different note, despite getting a D in a Spanish module, and an E in a history module, I got AABB in my A Levels, which means I'm off to Cardiff Uni at the end of September! *dances* Oh, and it appears WWRY is never far from my mind, or perhaps I just got stunningly bored because I have a bunch of possible fics that no doubt will soon be written. So to go back to one of the original questions about occupations other than fics - shopping, sleeping, and thinking about chocolate peanut butter cheesecake. | #68 Aug 16th 2007, 9:16am

East Coast RyderWell, despite me not knowing a thing about your grading system, congrats, Blue!| #69 Aug 16th 2007, 6:00pm

CrayolaxSmilesOooh....congrats! That's really good on your A-levels, isn't it? =]I know this much: U's are bad. lmao | #71 Aug 17th 2007, 6:50am
|
|
BlueBohemianI hate jet lag.But on a more cheery note, thanks for all the congratulatoryness! And yeah, 'U''s are kinda bad, but that's only if they affect your overall grade. There doesn't seem to be an 'F', so it goes A, B, C, D, E, U (Unclassified). A-E are passes, U is a fail. However, because I can ignore it and forget they ever happened, I can ignore the 2 U's I got in Advanced Extension English and History - two three hour exams I opted to take for 'fun'. (for AE there are only Distinction, Merit and Unclassified). In short, for those who don't understand the A Level system, there are 6 modules to an A Level all of which get added up to make the overall grade. To complicate things, the Government decided to introduce AS Levels, which are half an A Level, and 3 modules. Those three are taken in the first year of A Levels, and the final three in the second and final year. At the end of the two years, it gets averaged out, giving the final grades. I did mean for that to be shorter than it ended up, sorry. | #72 Aug 18th 2007, 2:32am

Werepuppy BlackOkay, I have a fic i really wish to post - its sort of a spin-off of my hp/wwry crossover...but im not sure whether to post it as it does give you large hints as to what happens...| #74 Aug 24th 2007, 3:51pm

East Coast RyderWell, just post more of the crossover and we won't have that problem, will we? ;)EEP! I'm going to see Weird Al tonight!!! wo0t! | #75 Aug 27th 2007, 10:27am

East Coast RyderHey y'all, I started school today and unfortunately I won't be able to work on my fics so much as I'm taking three AP classes as well as two Honors classes. I've got a first draft of the next chapter done and I hope to post it by next week, so look out for it!On a side note, school looks to be a killer this year. I've already got a paper due for tomorrow and three more for Friday. ARGH!!! | #76 Sep 04th 2007, 1:26pm

East Coast RyderI saw this sign on the side of the road and it said "Chicks do not respond to 'babe'. Or 'chick', for that matter."And I totally had a WWRY moment. | #77 Sep 17th 2007, 4:05pm

BlueBohemianSo I've just started at uni, and while chatting to a couple of girls I found out they'd seen WWRY and want to see Wicked, and I got rather excited. Well, when 'rather' means completely over excited, and are instantly your new best friend. And on Thursday I saw WWRY again for the last time with the current London Cast, and that was so depressing. | #78 Sep 22nd 2007, 5:13pm

Werepuppy Blackah Blue, wwry truely does help to make friends. and i know. odd to think that the majority of the cast is leaving at this cast change... | #79 Sep 22nd 2007, 5:15pm

Werepuppy Blackokay, scary thought for ya here fellow wwry lovers (though meant as a parody)..........what if Disney won the right to making wwry into a movie?| #80 Sep 25th 2007, 4:16pm

|
East Coast RyderShoot. Me. Now.That's what would happen. It's bad enough that my school is doing High School Musical- which I was bullied into, by the way. But if they did, I would probably kill myself. In other news, our drama club is likely going to go to *drum roll please* LONDON!!! YAY!!! So I really hope I can go and see the new cast!!! | #81 Sep 25th 2007, 8:42pm

Werepuppy BlackShoot. Me. Now. That's what would happen lol fair enough....but i am the only one who thinks it would be hiliarious to see a parody of Scara and Meat meeting with a sterotypical disney princess (yes you can say i have an odd mind...) | #82 Oct 20th 2007, 2:04pm

CrayolaxSmilesAlright then, loves, it's been a while, and this forum is nearly dead. I am not happy.Shall we liven things up in the WWRY world? I'm really starting to miss some of the old writers' things! I'm really starting to get tired of having more non-WWRY related stories posted than ones that are related! xxxx <3 |

Bomba-FaeI'm not sure if this has been already said, but there's rumors going around about a We Will Rock You Sequal that will open in Toronto. Here's a video on youtube about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9QXmuCUbt0 I've been hearing bits and peices of the last couple of months, but I'm still not 100% sure on it. What's your opinion? |
