doodlescribeTopic: Mingo, Mingo, Mingo What is it about Mingo? Mingo is a many faceted character. Sometimes a hero, sometimes a brother, sometimes an uncle, sometimes a victim. What role do you like to see him play and why? What's your favorite Mingo-centric episode? |

aureolinMingo does the victim thing so well-it has to be his best role! LOL I think I would enjoy seeing his relationship with his father fleshed out more.A |

MelchyAlready told my favorite Mingo ep in the last section! But I love seeing him in situations where he is not expected to be in. And he does do the victim thing well. I would love to see a story that tells about Mingo's home life--his friends, girlfriends (?) maybe a good bonding story with Israel or Jemima. And I want to know, where does he go? |

highland laurelHello everyone. For me, his draw is multi-faceted. I love the way he interacts with so many other characters. His warmth. His humor. His relationship with his father is difficult, yet he is capable of deep attachment. He is capable of seeing two sides of an issue, a true diplomat. He is trustworthy, loyal. Dependable. He loves music and literature. He speaks well but never attempts to belittle others. He puts others at ease. He sees value in various civilizations. He loves freedom, praises freedom. He is generous, self-less. Often very kind and understanding. He's the father many children need and want. He is physically strong, a man's man. I think he embodies much of what we all seek. |

MelchyHave to admit, never thought of Mingo as a father figure. A true friend to all except for those who don't deserve it, loyal and kind. And a great sense of humor. But |

Inahlee Cherokee RoseHello all, I'm new here. I just wanted to say that I really enjoy the Daniel Boone series, and ESPECIALLY Mingo! I have to say, that I've never come across such a man as Ed Ames who plays Mingo so perfectly! As you all descibed him, he's that and SO much more to me. It's strange, but he does perfect at being the victim. His emotions and movements make us sympathize with him and forget our place behind the screen/stage. He's so much the man, meek, and never tries to put himself above his friends. Above all, it's the natural being that comes easily from him. Once, I read a quote that said Mingo decided to be Ed Ames. He's quite the natural character, and I think that that's what made many people fall for him, and for his unintentional charm. Inahlee |

CherokeeJaneI think he does the victim thing very well, but I would love to see him more in a fatherly type role. |

MelchyHe can make a good victim, but there is so much more to him than being a whipping boy. He is a friend, a brother to the Cherokee, a protector, a quick thinker, a man who loves and cherishes things from both of his worlds. |
