Aw, sweet!

Here's an excerpt from my Total chaos story:

"MENTION ME!" Martin screamed at the authoress, who was hunched over her computie.

Martin McFly.

"Why is Martin's name there?" Bertha asked.

"BILL CLINTON!" Seamus screamed. Then he belched.

LOL! Sounds good! So I take it you like Anakin McFly's slapstick humour, style? :)

I want to try my hand at a humour fic, where Marty and Jennifer share a dream. Marty inadvertantly ends up in Francesca's Italian Diner with Elisabeth Shue Jennifer, and Claudia Wells Jennifer soon confronts her - and then the two fight over Marty. How's that sound?

Excerpt of Wierdest Movie Ever--

Marty thought for a minute. "Yeah, there is one tape, but it doesn't have a label."

"Let's watch it, see what it is." Violet offered. So, they looked for the tape.

Soon, they found it. They put it into the VCR, turned on the TV, and pushed play.

"It's all static." Marty observed. "I'm outta here."

"Wait! It's coming on!" Violet exclaimed, grabbing Marty's arm and pulling him back onto the sofa.

What they saw was very unnerving. First, there was a high-pitched hum, accompanied by a ring of light in an otherwise black scene. Then static. Then churning, red water. Then a single chair that spun toward them at the very, very last second. Then what looked like a comb going through hair. Then a mirror on the right side of a wall, with the reflection of a woman brushing her hair, but with nobody in front of the mirror. Then a reflection of a girl with a dirty dress and long, black hair on the left side of the wall. Then the reflection of a woman looking toward the left, but, again, with nobody in front of the mirror. Then a nail, floating in midair, a drop of blood coursing down the side. Then an upstairs window with a man looking out. Ihen what appeared to be a cliff's edge with a fly crawling on the "camera" lense. Then a thick tongue-like thing coming out of a person's mouth. Then what appeared to be a trash bag moving around. Then a crescent of light, surrounded by black. Then a large, burning tree. Then a nail going through a person's fingernail, accompanied by a very high-pitched whine. Then writhing maggots. Then a very large group of people thrashing around blindly in water. Then a chair scooting out, by itself, from a table with a glass of water on it, a centipede crawling out from under the table, away from the "camera". Then a 3-legged goat hobbling behind a wall. Then a very large, black eye. Then another crescent of light. Then a box of twitching thumbs. Then the burning tree again. Then a trash bag moving around again. Then a lady doing her hair in front of the mirror, then looking toward the "camera". Then the upstairs window, empty. Then the chair, now spinning upside-down. Then a laddar leaning against a wall. Then a horse, lying in the surf, obviously dead. Then a woman standing at the cliff's edge, then throwing herself off. Then the laddar falling. then the crescent of light, growing thinner. Then the laddar landing. Then a well. and, finally, about 25 seconds of static.

Violet, Klaus, and Marty stared at the screen in awe.

"Okay, that wins my vote for wiredest movie ever..." Marty said, as the phone rang.

"Who's gonna get that?" Klaus asked, staring at the phone.

"Y'know, I think I saw this in a movie once..." Violet pondered.

After about 20 seconds, Marty answered the phone.

"Hello?" he said into the reciever.

"7 days..." a raspy, childlike, girlish voice whispered.

"Who is thi-" Marty was cut off by a click, then the line going dead.

Hey, could you post another excerpt from this story? :)

Saturday

Oct. 13, 1985

4:30 a.m.

Hill Valley, Ca.

Marty McFly woke up in a cold sweat. His head felt like somebody was pelting it with rocks and his stomach felt as though it were on an intense thrill ride. He somehow knew that he was going to throw up.

Marty retched over the side of the bed, the noise waking Violet up. He collapsed back into bed, his stomach churning, his head pounding, his body quivering, tears running down his face.

"Ugh...*yawn* Marty? Marty, are you ok?" Violet asked sleepily, sitting up on the air matress (sp?).

"No..." Marty moaned, beginning to sob.

"Do you feel like you're going to throw up again?"

"Uh-huh." So, Violet got up, found a blanket, spread it out on the floor, lifted Marty off his bed, and started to wrap him up. when she finished, she scooped Marty up and carried him to the bathroom.

Marty started to retch again. Violet put him down on his knees in front of the toilet and held him in place.

Let me explain about the header thing. Because BTTF is a time travel movie trilogy, it's become natural to put the day and time at the top of the pages. Not all BTTF ficcers do that, but most of them do - including the notable ones, like Mary Jean Holmes and Kristen Sheley. It's a habit I've kind of brought to my other fandoms, and I plan to do a BTTF/ASOUE crossover fic - so I tend to time and date those fics, as well.

I was thinking a little bit of what Samara and needles have said, and I'll probably change the setting for the frst chapter of A Delightful Dimension (The BTTF/ASOUE crossover). Instead of taking place at Stu's Cafe, I'll have it take place at another restaurant in the Courthouse Square. So Lou's Aerobics Fitness Centre can also exist in that spot in the ASOUE Universe.

So is it going to be St. Elmo's Grill? That's what Holt's Diner was by 1985.

Here the first part of my first chapter to A Delightful Dimension:

November 12, 1987

4:00 PM PST

ASOUE Universe

Duncan Quagmire was sitting across the table from Jennifer Parker, as he pondered how he had known her for over four years. It was nearly like a date, except for the fact that they weren't exactly eating alone. Both of them were nineteen years old.

Duncan was the oldest of the triplets. Quigley was identical to him, and he was with Violet Baudelaire. Isadora was the youngest, and she was with Klaus - who was the younger brother of Violet. Sunny, the youngest Baudelaire, was just a young girl of seven years. Beatrice, who the Baudelaires had adopted, was only five years old.

It was a Thurday evening, as Violet had taken the whole crowd to St Elmo's Grill. The restauant was quite close to the Hill Valley Courthouse, which had the rather famous clock tower attached to it. Lightning had struck that clock tower 32 years ago, frying the clockwork - but a sizeable portion of the townsfolk just wanted the clock to stay.

Duncan thoughts turned to how all of them, except for Jennifer, were orphaned. Yet, they were family. The group simply lived with the town's scientist, Dr. Emmett Brown - until Violet was old enough to receive her fortune. He was eccentric, but very kind.

The group always addressed the aging scientist as Doc, and he was the sole resident of Hill Valley to belong to the VFD. The Volunteer Fire Department, that is. There was also Count Biff Tannen, but he actually belonged to the arsonist side of the schism.

"You're real quiet, Duncan," commented Jennifer, with concern. As Duncan looked up, she added, "You really seem to be distracted about something. I know how you like to enjoy your food, as you eat - but you seem to be quite a little, uh, disturbed. I mean, you've been quiet all day. Is there something you'd like to talk about? I care for you!"

"I'm sorry, Jenn," Duncan replied, quite nervously. "I was just thinking about the clock tower, and how this seems to mean so much to plenty of people here. I got to wishing that we could've gown up here. As horrid as Count Biff is, he's really not as bad as..."

"Count Olaf?" Jennifer asked, softly. As Duncan nodded, she added, "I know you've all just gone through so much, and I really don't blame you for feeling down. I guess the fact that the town marks a very important anniversary is what's... Well, I rather do love this town - but I sure don't see any reason why we can't have a new clock."

"Yeah, I never really understood what the big deal was," agreed Klaus. "Why do many people here object to Mayor Wilson's initiative to replace the clock? I mean, what good is a clock that doesn't even tell time? This town could end up being a laughingstock!"

"I think it's nostalgia," suggested Isadora. "If remember correctly, the clock has been in this town since the year 1885. That's over a hundred years ago. I guess this really means the clock is legendary. To thnk that the clock was working for seventy years."

"Doc doesn't want the clock to be replaced, either," added Duncan, as he thought of the scientist's fascination with clocks. "He actually believes that there might be a... a good significance to the event. He often mentions that there just might be a way for time travel to be possible. It would be so awesome, if we could travel through time."

"It would simply be nice to bring our parents back to life," Violet said, grimacing. "Of course, there's certainly no guarantee that time travel wouldn't make things worse. So, that being considered, it maybe is a good idea to not mess around with time."

"Hey, Violet," Quigley suggested, as he put his arm around her, "are you still thinking of getting a doctorate in science? I mean, you're quite good at inventing things - and you and Doc really can learn from each other. You really do have potential, Violet."

"Maybe the two of you could work together," Duncan suggested, smirking, "and, one of these days, you might invent a time machine together. Doc has suggested that, in order for a time machine to work properly, it would require a lot of electric power. It'll probably require, at least, one jigawatt of electricity. That really is a lot of power."

"An average light bulb is 100 watts," Klaus pointed out. "A jigawatt is one billion watts - so that would simply be like, uh, ten million light bulbs. A microwave usually operates on a thousand watts, or one kilowatt - so that would also be a million microwaves."

"That's a lot of power," agreed Violet. "Of course, we have many different theories to time travel. We have Albert Einstein's theory of relativity, for one. Doc sure even had the pleasure to meet the guy, and they both have real funky hair. He's a great man."

"Ain't that the truth!" Klaus agreed, nodding. "Doc had even named his dog after the great scientist - and, in many ways, the dog seems to be rather intelligent. Doc even has the ability to read his mind, with that mind-reading device you sure helped him to perfect. He's even just thinking about showing that off to the members of the VFD."

"I'm still amazed by how the two of you were never recruited," Isadora commented. "I can't say I'm too surprised by how Doc has been a member, from the time that he was four. He did mention that Albert Einstein was also a VFD member, and that's how..."

"... the two of them met?" suggested Klaus. As Isadora nodded, he added, "I wonder if Jules Verne was also in the VFD. I read his books, when I was eleven - but Doc sure inspired me to read them again. He's a wonderful author, and I love all of his books."

"When we're done eating," suggested Duncan, as an idea popped into his head, "why don't we check out the clock tower? There might even be a secret to it - and we might quite be able to... Well, I've heard that Lemony Snicket had typed many of his stories in the clock tower. Klaus, as you have big plans to write a book - that might be a..."

Duncan swallowed, as Klaus smiled at him. Suddenly, everyone around the table was laughing - and Duncan really felt pleased that his idea was well-received. It'd sure be good for Sunny and Beatrice, who he felt were become too hooked on video games.
