Neo Author Fighters: The Uprising

A "Neo Author Fighters" RP by Lion's Edge

Plot:

Over twenty years ago, the world known as 'Earth' faced an event that nearly sent it plummeting into oblivion. The Darksides, originally only feared due to the actions of Drake Ebon Darkstar and Shade Blood in their war for supremacy, had risen to become a near-apocalyptic threat with the return of their god Rasets at full power. Over two-hundred and forty worlds were plunged into oblivion as destined, society diminished as Earth slipped into chaos and fear reigned supreme as the heroes tried to fight off this threat; spear-headed by the FanFiction Author Fighters: a group of super-humans, weapons-masters and heroes that had fought against the Darksides more than any other team.

Despite eventually managing to defeat Rasets, slay Drake and Shade, and prevent the apocalypse... the world's heroes failed to save their home from slipping into the anarchy that came to follow. In the ruins of a once-proud world, survivors of Rasets' attack struggled to rebuild society; the threat of the remaining Darksides still lingering as they began to fall one-by-one. Crime became more prominent as a struggle for power began to grip onto cities. The heroes tried to assist in the restoration of the world however not all accepted their help. Those who felt it was because of their failure to end the problem quickly that resulted in the horrific destruction of their world, especially the Authors whose Darksides were involved in the plans, began to turn away; their hatred towards heroes leading them to try and find ways to dispose of them.

One of these people was a Senator: who frequently claimed that he had lost his entire family to the Darksides and that everything he once had was now nothing. He never gave his name once, only known as an 'enigma', as he began to run for the title of President. Initially, most looked at the Senator and scoffed... until he began to use his charisma to his advantage. He pointed out that the Author Fighters had 'failed in their responsibilities as the experienced in Darkside hunting' and that 'their own incompetence in containing their OWN darkness' was the trigger for the return of Rasets. Eventually, he began to seduce the population; making them believe that he was right and, in fact, the Author Fighters had ruined the world.

And finally, after a long campaign, the enigma of a Senator became President of the United States... with all the power to accomplish what he had been planning to do for so long. Taking the title 'Enigma', the President spent the first few months of his term negotiating with what remained of the United Nations, an international manhunt for all super-humans was finally declared three months into Enigma's first term. Immediately, Enigma and Congress forced every superhuman team to resign and disband; including the Avengers, the Justice League and the Author Fighters; before ordering them all to be arrested.

To accomplish this goal, Enigma formed a new division of law enforcement known as the 'Superhuman Suppression Squadrons' or the 'SSS' for short. The SSS were trained specifically to take on supers and win; armed with the most advanced weapons possible and trained in many forms of hand-to-hand combat to boot. Over the years, Enigma and his SSS captured and imprisoned many superhumans; his primary focus being on the Author Fighters and their allies, using the Rasets invasion as fuel to turn the people against them in particular.

Despite the acclaim Enigma received for his service in 'the salvation of humanity' and the celebrity status that the SSS had achieved, there was controversy throughout his terms. Some compared him to the hated dictator Adolf Hitler and his special forces to the Nazi SS during World War II whilst superhumans who escaped capture tried to lead revolutions against his rule to no avail. Despite all this, Enigma managed to win the hearts of the majority and continued his term as President... secretly having to deal with another threat.

Early in his manhunt of superhumans, Enigma's SSS reported a terrorist group of superhumans who sought to take control of the USA and 'free their people' emerging... a group that called itself 'Maverick'. Initially, the group was small and of no threat to Enigma and his SSS. However, as the years grew, more supers began to join as their numbers swelled to threatening levels; causing Enigma to have to find ways of luring more young men and women into joining the SSS to fight the rising threat without causing alarm and paranoia among his people.

Twenty-one years after Rasets' attack, Enigma still sits in the White House as President of the United States. America's economy has grown once more to become the world's most powerful and the SSS, once just an American-based organization, has now grown across into a worldwide law enforcement organization; capturing supers and taking them back to an America-based prison known as 'the Abyss'. However, Enigma's worry is aimed towards the rising of Maverick; the SSS's primary objective being the capture and defeat of Maverick's elites; and the Author Fighters, over the years, had started families of their own whilst in hiding.

Little did Enigma know, Maverick had been capturing children of the Author Fighters for the last few years; in the hopes to form their own 'FAF' to be used as a weapon and campaign effort in their fight for freedom; and taking them to secret training facilities to be raised as Mavericks. Now, however, from the ashes of the FAF, an Author who escaped capture for decades is now forming a band of men with one mission in mind...

To rescue the young supers and form a team capable of foiling both Enigma and the SSS as well as Maverick and its goals. Or, as they call it... Project: Neo Author Fighters.

Name: Jua Kinney (alias: Jua Leonhart)

Age: 15

Species: Human, Leonine

Parents: Makali 'Leonhart'/Lion's Edge and Laura Kinney/X-23

Physical appearance: Jua is built, physically, very similarly to his father: short, only measuring at 5' tall, with dark skin and a shaggy mane of black hair; much shorter than Edge's, however, in length and only growing to his shoulders. He has two sets of three, faint, whisker marks on his face as well as green-blue eyes, like his mother, that flash gold when his Leonine bloodline takes over. Jua is lean in build, with muscle on his arms and legs, often clad in a black jumpsuit under a maroon jacket, said jacket having actually been his father's when he was an Author Fighter.

Personality: Jua, having grown up in an environment where he has had to hide away from pursuers tracking him down, is a cautious young man who is unsure whether to trust people straight off the bat. However, he does have a fiery temper like both his parents as well as the desire to protect his friends and family. Jua also frequently finds himself questioning his parentage and the identity of his father, who he never knew, as well as the strange incomplete feeling he feels. Like his father, Jua is a pervert; however the young quarter-Leonine is much better at concealing this nature and controlling his urges.

Bio: Jua was born to Laura Kinney, code-name 'X-23', during the reign of President Enigma around the same time as Maverick began to first emerge. His father, the Author Fighter and Master of Mana Lion's Edge, had left without learning Laura was pregnant again to track down Maverick members who had captured his infant daughter, Uzuri; leaving his wife and son to struggle themselves in a world that fears and hates them. During his early days, Jua accidentally awakened his Mana Energy pools; abnormally large for his age and near-identical to his father's own; which resulted in Maverick turning its attention to him.

X-23 was fierce in protecting her son, however. For years, she brutally fought off Maverick after Maverick as well as any SSS agent who tried to harm her son due to his similarities to Edge whilst Jua continued to train with his grandfather Logan, aka Wolverine, to become strong enough to one day take on Maverick and the SSS himself. At the age of fourteen, Jua had an encounter with an older female similar to himself in many ways; her claws laced with adamantium and her personality cold and ruthless. He narrowly escaped with his life before learning from his mother that she was, in fact, most likely his sister Uzuri; who had been taken as a baby and forced to undergo the Weapon X process, raised by Maverick as a fighter and assassin for them.

Horrified that his own family member, his sister of all people, had to undergo the same torturous process his mother and grandfather had undergone, Jua begged his mother to let him go and try to save his sister. Despite reluctance to let her son follow in her missing husband's footsteps, Laura eventually allowed Jua to go after Uzuri under the condition she was to go with him. Unfortunately, a year into their search, they were ambushed and separated by Maverick; Jua taken captive and spirited away to a training facility situated in Los Angeles, California, as part of an unknown pet-project of the organization's leader...

Abilities: Jua possesses two sets of three retractable bone claws, measuring twelve inches in length, in his knuckles as well as one retractable claw in each of his feet that he is capable of using. Jua's main ability, however, is that to cast and manipulate Mana Energy: Jua possessing the two elemental affinities of Holy Mana, like his father Edge, and Fire Mana. Jua also possesses amounts of Wild Essence inside of him that, although less than his father's, can transform him into a lion-like form.

Weapons: His claws. Later, he is given a Mana Energy-infused short-sword christened the Leonis Ensis (the Lion's Fang) by his father to help control his Energy pools.

Name: Damien Lee Quill (Rauslenn Hanzal Dovemiri)

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Species: Half-syrium Half-Caste

Parents: Hurricane's Quill/Raskus Kanamig Dovemiri and Fyuria Dovemiri

Physical appearance: Damien isn't as powerfully built as his father, but that suits Damien just fine. When he's not on stage, Damien wears a black jacket, a Winnipeg Jets shirt, and jeans. His hair is short and black, spiked and tipped in silver, and his eyes are blue.

Personality: Damien is the down-to-earth kind of guy, preferring skepticism bordering on outright cynicism, and takes from his mother's snarky attitude and independence.

Bio: Rauslenn Hanzal Dovemiri is the son of Hurricane's Quill (AKA the Grey Wolf of Icehome, hero of the Reclamation War, etc.) and Fyuria Quill, was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. However, to protect their son after continued incursions from both the SSS and the Mavericks, Quill and Fyuria went to ground and had their son shipped off to Bruhl, Gallia, to live with the Gunther family for protection at the age of eight, where he stayed for the next eleven years under the name Damien Lee.

However, as time went on, Damien wanted to learn more about the father that had been a part of his life for as short as time as he was, and the legends that surrounded him and his band of warriors called the Court of Daiklaves, and after contacting a few people, managed to get on the Sheryl Nome Frontier Tour on its way through Earth before going to space. Currently, he's splitting time being the bassist for the band and chasing leads about Quill and the Daiklaves through their missions around the world. As the Frontier tour comes to Los Angeles, Damien's past and future will suddenly collide...

Abilities: Damien is a Half-Caste, the child of a powerful Exalt. As such, he has the ability to utilize Essence, but currently has no means of utilizing it...yet. Like his father (and mother, arguably) before him, he is also a natural with any kind of weapon.

Weapons: Damien carries his father's Haslanti dirk with him wherever he goes.

Other information: Damien is an avid fan of the Winnipeg Jets, something that carried over from his childhood when he lived there. He also wears a necklace containing a cat's eye jewel in a (moon)silver necklace around his neck in the shape of a wolf's head.

Physical appearance: A somewhat short girl with white hair and blue eyes. Often seen wearing sunglasses, a white jacket, loose jeans, a black shirt, and rubber gloves.

Personality: While her older brother seems to have inherited her aunt's more shy, soft-spoken personality, Faith seems to have gotten more of her uncle Lunatic's personality. She's head-strong, cocky, scrappy, and enjoys cracking jokes. She may enjoy teasing her older brother and others, but she's fiercely loyal.

Bio: Faith was born two years after Seth. The two had a small rivalry going on, Faith often proving to be the tougher of the two. When Seth went exploring the universe with Neo Team Wanderer, she stayed in Fictron and took the Knight exams, becoming the new Knight of Courage.

Abilities: Like her father, Faith has the ability to produce electricity. However, she has a tendency to shock herself in the process, so she often wears rubber gloves for protection. She also has enhanced reflexes and has a sonic screech (which she doesn't often use due to its unpredictability).

Weapons: A Frontliner Buckler Shield and the UFO Saber (formerly owned by Blacknova)

Additional Information: Is often seen travelling with her mentor--a Fictorian Ninja nicknamed Sitar.

Physical appearance: Akira has been said to be the spitting image of his father. His black hair is shaggy and reaches his shoulders. He looks well-tone due to his vigorous training with the Mavericks, but he has scars over his body from his imprisonment. His eyes are slanted and brown, which turns red due to his wolfen side. His skin is tan, and he has a small birthmark on the back of his neck, which is like a dot.

Personality: Akira is cocky, but he is also wary of people around him due to the turmoil time he and his family found themselves in. Before his imprisonment, his temper was like his father's, but then it flared once he and his sister, Keiko, were captured. He is very protective over his friends and family, and he tends to do different things to make them feel better, such as a few pranks.

Bio: Akira is the first child of Kamalia and Jiro Okamoto, and he is the older brother of Keiko Okamoto. The first couple years of his life were normal, but when the SSS and Mavericks began to rise, his family had to go into hiding. His parents began to train them when they were young, hoping they will be able to fight, should the need arise. Much like his father and his little sister, he can become a wolfen. However, he lacked some control, and his parents created another Garulu system with Wolzar the Second. Thus, he became Kamen Rider Garulu. When he was sixteen, he and his sister were captured by the Mavericks when they were training in the forest. He fought to save Keiko, which led to him being very injured. Once in the facility, he was forced through their training. He tried for a year to keep his sister safe while trying to find ways to escape the facility, along with others that he met…

Abilities: Akira takes more after his father, and can become a wolfen. He also has a Garulu system, courtesy of his mother.

Weapons: Garulu Saber in his Kamen Rider form.

Bio: After being kidnapped by an old enemy of Vongola at the age of 6, Yoshiyo was traumatized, and within two years Reborn was asked to become his tutor. At 16, he fought and defeated Serah, but was stuck in the hospital anyways. The incident led to the two reconnecting, and Yoshiyo trusts and is fiercely protective of Serah.

Abilities: Swordsmanship training, peak physical condition

Weapon: Katana (takes the form of a black umbrella when not in use), Box Weapons

Name: Uzuri Kinney (alias: 'Lioness')

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Species: Leonine Quarter-Blood

Parents: Makali 'Leonhart'/Lion's Edge and Laura Kinney/X-23

Physical appearance: Uzuri is slender and thin in build, slightly short for her age at 5'3'', with dark skin and black hair, tied back into a ponytail, with three faint whisker marks on her cheeks. Her eyes are a blue-green, like her mother's; however she has a scar running down her right eye. She is often clad in a dark maroon-red jumpsuit, a black 'X' symbol running across the front of it, as well as, during her times captive under Maverick, a black mask shaped like a lioness' head.

Personality: Uzuri is a quiet character, rarely expressing her true emotions and instead choosing to wear a steely façade. She dislikes being among crowds, instead preferring solitude and quiet, and has a severe fear of society (anthropophobia) for the prejudice and cruelty that Maverick showed her. Uzuri does have a slight angry streak, like both her parents, and her rebellious nature has led her many a time to plot her freedom from Maverick's plans to no avail.

Bio: Uzuri Kinney was the first born child of former Author Fighter, Lion's Edge, and once-member of the X-Men and Gladiis Liberatis, Laura Kinney aka X-23, shortly before the emergence of President Enigma. However, once the SSS came into order, Edge was forced into hiding with his wife and infant daughter; trying to find somewhere they could live a normal life as the international manhunt slowly unfolded. Unfortunately, their plans of peace were destroyed with the emergence of the Mavericks; who were interested in Edge's Leonine DNA and Mana Energy for their plans.

Despite his best attempts to keep his daughter safe, Edge was defeated in an ambush by Maverick members – led by the mastermind and leader of the organization himself, only known as 'Infinity' – and baby Uzuri was stolen away. Uzuri was soon taken to a Maverick training facility, 'adopted' as Infinity's own daughter and trained fiercely from the age of five. For the next few years, Infinity harshly trained Uzuri into a killing machine before, at the age of fourteen, putting her under a process similar to the Weapon X experiments: her skeleton plated with adamantium.

Nowadays, she is a reluctant mercenary for the Mavericks; willing to 'obey' their orders and execute kills for them when necessary but always trying to help the other children under their custody and plotting to escape...

Abilities: Uzuri possesses two sets of three retractable bone claws, measuring twelve inches in length, in his knuckles as well as one retractable claw in each of his feet that he is capable of using. She also possesses the ability to use Mana Energy; her primary affiliations being Lightning Mana and Holy Mana, like her father; however emotional trauma and psychological insecurity has held back the full potential of this affiliation

Weapons: Adamantium-laced claws and Mana Energy.

Physical appearance: Keiko looks like her mother, except her hair is black and reaches the middle of her back. Her skin is tan, and her eyes are slanted and brown. She is very petite, and she has a bite mark on her shoulder from her brother, as well as other scars.

Personality: Keiko is very quiet, but she cares deeply for her friends. Much like her brother and her father, she can be cocky, but it seemed to have disappeared after she was captured. In addition, she seems more skittish around others. When she knows that she can trust them, she will give many witty comments, and she will show a persistent side when she tries to accomplish something.

Bio: Keiko is the only daughter of Jiro and Kamalia Okamoto, and the younger sister of Akira. She was born during a turmoil time where she and her family had to be in hiding. Because she was able to become a wolfen, her family began to train her. Unlike her brother, however, she had control over it. She showed support for Akira as she tried to help him gain control. When she was fourteen, however, she and her brother were captured by the Mavericks while they were training. She went through vigorous training there, and it led to her withdrawal. She tries to see her brother when she can, and she hopes they can think of a way to escape.

Abilities: Much like her brother and father, she can turn to a wolfen.

Weapons: Unlike her parents and her brother, she uses sais as a way to fight.

"Attention, my brethren of these fifty states! We are in dark days... superhumans still roam the Earth, ready to stir up trouble at anytime, and the memories of Rasets, God of Darksides, still lies fresh in our minds."

Within the darkness of a shadowy room, a pair of scarlet-red eyes; glowing vibrantly under a dark-red visor; gazed deeply at a radio, eyes narrowed the entire time as he began to shake, struggling to contain his rage. "However, despite the lingering threats, we are no longer as weak as we once were. Humanity now has a stronger defense against these 'meta-humans' with my introduction of the Superhuman Suppression Squadrons and your willingness to join and let the organization grow. Many wanted supers like the mutant terrorist Magneto have been successfully assassinated by SSS forces whilst others, like members of the Author Fighters, have been contained in special prisons to suppress their powers and prevent escape," the voice continued.

"However, the war is not over yet. The SSS needs the service of you, the good people of America, to face all the threats that linger over this country's security and safety. Their ranks are ready to accept you with open arms, as brothers-in-arms, and give you the equipment and training needed to take on the threat in exchange for your services. I, your President and friend, have helped you as much as I can... now, the rest is up to-"

"Lies," the man listening to the broadcast spat. "All nothing but shallow lies..."

A bright scarlet aura flowed from him before bursts of energy shot forward, the radio exploding as soon as they hit. "And soon, the people will see that... THEN, we'll see who the dominant power is in this country."

"Master Infinity..."

The man turned to face a younger man who had marched in, clad in a suit of gunmetal-grey armor with a visored mask over his face; jet-black hair shaggy. Bowing to the man he had just called 'Infinity', he gazed up. "We have assembled the students of our facility as requested. They await your presence," he replied.

"Excellent," Infinity muttered as he stood up, walking out of the room.

Out in the Nevada Desert, bright white sparks started gathering until forming two silhouettes. One was of a teenage girl, the other of a tall man. The sparks dissipated, leaving two people. One was a girl with white hair, sunglasses over blue eyes, a white jacket, jeans, rubber gloves, a two-foot-wide shield strapped to her back, and a saber at her side. The other was a man, probably in his thirties, with short, deep violet hair, cold black eyes, and a tail covered in purple fur. At his side were two sai.

"Wow, what a trip." The girl said, "What about you, master, are you alright?"

The man simply looked at the girl.

"Thought so." The girl shrugged, "Now, let's go find that wussy brother of mine."
