Dark QiviutTopic: The Digimon TOKYOPOP Manga For a few years, TOKYOPOP produced their version of Digimon. I've never had the chance of reading the TOKYOPOP manga; I've just started reading manga earlier this year. But I'm certain that there are quite a few who have read it. So, what are your views of the TOKYOPOP version of Digimon?| #1 Apr 24th 2006, 9:33am . Edited Jul 15th 2007, 12:13pm | |

SonfaroThe cover art is cool...[shrugs...] I own the first english volume. So far it's just like season 1. Unless you just have a craving for Season 1 you aren't missing much. On the positive side though there's less annoying banter (though there's some still there.) It's really sort of condensed. Those are just my views on it. - Sonfaro |

VectorCrocodileFangirlI wish I had an opinion, but sadly, I can't find it. However, it does bug me that the entire first season was condensed into 5 issues, and the second into 2. However, it IS digimon, so I want it. |

Digital-Dragon-MasterI read most of the first season, but couldn't find the later volumes, and I saw one of the 02. I haven't found any of Frontier, but I read all of Tamers. Ehhh, it may be because I'm a rabid Tamers fan, but I disliked the way it was adapted. It was far too compacted. For example, Calumon is never really properly introduced. He just sort of hangs around and you start to wonder "so when are they going to have him talk to the Tamers" and suddenly they start acting like he's been friends with them all along. And of course there's the fact that Ryo just sort of disappears. Seen once, never comes back. That irked me a tad.Thinking back on the Adventure manga, it was kind of compacted too. Gee, I'd hate to see what happened to 02. Too many rushed or forgotten plot points in the ones I read. I'll have to find them again and read through them to get a proper understanding of how different they are from the anime. |

The Two-One-FiveGee, I'd hate to see what happened to 02. Too many rushed or forgotten plot points in the ones I read. I'll have to find them again and read through them to get a proper understanding of how different they are from the anime. If you though season two was rushed, you should see this. Wormmon gets no character development and his death is whatever, Yolie and Davis share their evolution episode. They do not show any Sorato moments and just included in the epilogue (which even they make fun of), Demon is working with Oikawa on this one, and it was ken who saved the chosen from the illusions just because the image of his brother told him so. |
