TrueThinkerI already told you. XD- I'm reading a really good book right now. |
Twilight Rose2what is it!? |
TrueThinker'Specials' by Scott Westerfeld. It's the third book in the 'Uglies' series. ('Series' was supposed to be a trilogy then he randomly came out with 'Extras', a fourth book.) |
Twilight Rose2Sounds cool, what's it about? |
TrueThinkerOkay, so in the book there are these people who work for an organization called Special Circumstances. These people are called 'Specials'. In the world they exist on (still Earth, just thousands of years from now, future), you are organized into groups by age:1-11: Littlie 12-16: Ugly 16-?: New Pretty ?-?: Middle Pretty ?-?: Late Pretty Littlies are just toddlers and young children. Cute, innocent, and sweet. Then, after being a littlie for 11 years, you become a rebbelious and repellent ugly. Uglies love to break rules. Nearly every ugly wants to become a pretty. When an Ugly turns 16, they get to become a 'Pretty'. At age 16, a surgical operation makes you the gorgeous creature called a pretty, who's only job is to have a really great time. The only problem is, being Pretty makes you . . . naive. You are easily distacted, and hate conflict. You are personally programmed to never fight or even ever get angry. The world is fuzzy to a pretty. Specials are there to make sure the Uglies stay under control and the Pretties stay stupid. It's a harder job than it sounds. Specials are pretty too, but cruelly so. They have heightened senses, super-strength, and are extremely fast. - It's an interesting book ;) |
