Topic: The Eastern Snow Desert

A cold place of snow and neverending gray. It was here that a certain clan of Fell originated. There is nothing but doom for anyone who travels here. Even walking on the surface presents a challange as beasts as old as time, longing for flesh of any kind, lurk below. There is a mountain which is said to be the toughest mountain to scale and only those deemed worthy by legend and folklore may climb to it's peak and face the hidden danger above. That is if... the cold or what's below doesn't claim you first.

Darien had been holding on to Kain on the deck as the two arrived at the Snow Desert. He sighed softly and looked down. "This is gonna be dangerous. There's a mountain in the center of the desert. That would be where we go. Are you ready?" Darien asked softly.

Kain looked a bit scared when he remembered what darein had said about this place. Reluctently he nodded and said softly. "Im ready." He wasn't really sure if he was ready though.

"Then lets go." Darien said softly. He walked off the airship.

Kain gulped and repleid with a nod. He quicklly followed Darein, staying close to him.

The freezing cold temperature hit Darien hard as he shook. The winds were strong and hit him hard and the snow hitting him was numbing him and stinging him. He sighed and waited for Kain. As he did, he took some steps forward and the snow made him sink in a bit. "Better not stand around alot."

Kain nodded and quickly stepped through the snow towards Darein. "All right, lets keep moving." He said as his teeth chattered. He was used to a tropic tempature and could barely stand the snow. He crossed his arms to help him keep warm and trudged on through the snow.

Darien looked at Kain and sighed. "We'll freeze fast... we need to run. Keep up. And don't stop moving!" Darien said as he ran forward.

Kain sighed and yelled. "Wait up!" he ran foward as fast as he could toward Darein and asked. "Why didn't we take the hover car inside the airship's deck?" He asked as he kept running.

"The engine would freeze here before it got a chance to start up! We're lucky... this is a light storm. If it were a true storm... We'd be dead. We can't stop for anyth..." Darien stopped when the ground below him shifted in an odd way. "Did you feel that!?"

Kain acidentaly ran straight into Darein and almost fell down. "What the heck was that!" He said and muttered a few curses. "Im beginning to hate this place." He muttered.

"Kain... Get up... and run. Don't question me... RUN!" Darien said as a giant white cobra like beast shot out of the snow.

Kain stared at the snake and said. "Wow, that is the biggest specimen I have ever seen. All right, fine." He said as the scientific part of his brain started to kick in and he reluctently ran as fast as he could away from the creature.

As Kain ran, another snake shot up from the snow and roared at him. As it did, it pulled it's body out and revealed to have a body like an old dinosaur.

"Aww... shit! Kain!" Darien said as he ran after him and tackled him as the snake dinosaur snapped at both of them and missed.

Kain fell to the ground as to the ground as Darein tackled him and stared in horror at the snake-like donosuar. "This is sooo not good." He muttered and then started to invoke a hex. Suddenly a issulusion of Darein and Kain running in the other direction was made.

As the illusions ran the other way, the second Serpranous ran after them. The other one was not fooled and kept looking at the real ones. "Love... if you know anything... that can slow this thing down... Now would be the time. If not, I have to use keys." Darien said looking at Kain as he tried to stand up but the snow was proving hard to deal with.

Kain nodded and pushed both of them up. "I know exactly what to do." He said and started another incantation. Suddenly a wave of air brushed past Kain which made his hair flow. Suddenly a fog obscured the vision of the serpranous, engulfing the creature.

"Nice move. Now... we need to move! Run!" Darien said as he grabbed Kain's arm and pulled him along with him as fast as he could.

Kain nodded and ran as fast as he could away from the monster. "I think I already hate this place." He shouted as they roamed through the desert.

Darien sighed as he picked Kain up and put him on his back and kept running. The beast spat huge ice balls at them and Darien looked at Kain. "Can you stop those?" He asked as he ran.

Kain looked in horror as the balls of ice neared them. "Um...I really have no idea if I can or not." He yelled and started a incantation. as he did a statue of Darein and Kain pooped up behind them, the balls of ice crashing into it.

"You never cease to amaze me! You're awesome!" Darien said as the beast roared loudly. He could see the mountain in the distance and sighed relieved. "We're almost there."

Kain blushed when Darein said that to him. "Thanks, but Im not really that awesome." He couldn't help but feel releived that they were there. "Beside's, you're the one with all those cool keys."

Darien said nothing as the two ran on. The beast had stopped the chase since they had been in close proximity of the mountain. Darien panted a bit as he held Kain on his bad. As they reached the base of the rather large mountain, Darien put Kain down and looked at him. "I'm nothing without those keys." He said remembering what he said.

Kain now regretted what he had said to Darein. "Darein, don't say that." He told him as he was put down. He looked into Darein's eys and told him. "You are something, I bet you could fight that demon possesing Alex all over again and win without the keys."

"It doesn't work that way. The keys give me the power I need to fight. Otherwise, I'm just some guy with weapons. I'm useless without the key's power." Darien said softly. He hung his head down depressed and then looked back up the mountain. "I... have to go alone..." He nearly whispered.

Kain was suprised by Darein's reaction and shouted, "What, im not going to let you go alone. If it was dangerous back there, think how danger it is up there. You could be killed!" He shouted at Darein.

"Kain... you... wouldn't understand if I told you. You can't come and even if you could, I don't wanna risk losing you right now. I can't lose anyone for any matter. I told you, I'll do anything to make someone stay alive." Darien looked at Kain. He sighed as he walked up to him and kissed him. He broke the kiss fast and then looked down. "Sorry." He said punching Kain hard in the stomach to take his breath away. He took the moment to run up the jagged path on the mountain.

Kain was expecting Darein to punch him so he was to suprised to dodge. He gasped for air, cacthing his beath for a while but by then Darein was out of sight. "Darn it!" he said and got up, trying to run up the mountain all though he wasn't very fast.

Darien made it to the peak where a Parthenon like building rested. His sense told him that Kain was coming up. He knew that once Kain reached the peak, he would refuse to go down. So he waited patiently for him.

Kain ran as fast as he could up the mountain. Slowly, after a long time Darein came into veiw. He also a great building, one that looked like a old temple. "Im not letting you go by yourself!" Kain yelled at darein.

Darien turned around and looked at him a moment. "They say there is a key here. They being the spirits of the mountain. Can you hear the voices? Only the Fell can hear them." He said as the wind blew around them. The snow picked up but the air blowing was warmer.

Being a human, Kain couldn't hear the voices. "Voices? No, I don't hear anything at all?" He told him with a look of confusion.

Darien closed his eyes and the snow dispelled and revealed the mountain top as it should have been. The ground had grass and the sun shone on the brown stone. He turned back to Kain and nodded. "My family's origin began here. This is where the first of my bloodline began. They say that when a Valorus travels here with another person, they will be judged. That's why I didn't want you to come." He said softly.

Kain's eyed opened widely. he had done something stupid agian and now it had got Darein into trouble. 'Im such a idiot!' He thought to himself. "Darein...im sorry. I didn't know." Kain told Darein softly.

"Eh!? No! It's not like that... they say that one of my clan will always travel up here with someone who the spirits will judge. They know whether that person is good to the clan member's soul or not. I just didn't want to bring you here. Out of fear that me and you might not... mix well." He said looking down.

Kain smiled at him and said. "Come on Darein, Im sure we'll mix perfectly.' he told him reassuringly. Even though he said this, Kain still had a bit of fear. He hoped that he was good for Darein with all his heart.

Darien looked at him and nodded. "Okay. We need to go in then." He said as he walked forward and pushed the giant double marble doors open. Inside was a massive hall lined with marble and stone. There were torches freshly lit on the walls. On the other end was a massive statue of a fell with a giant spear.

Kain nodded and followed Darein in. He stared at the buildings inside and the scientist part of his mind clicked into gear. "Wow, this arciture must have been made by expert. It all seems [etty old, people don't build with thi sstyle much anymore since it can't accomidate a lot of modern machenery. Facisnating."

"It is." Darien said as he walked forward. As they did, the temple like building began to shake and Darien held on to Kain and looked around.

"He who travels with the Valorus, speak your name and purpose. Fail to do so and your life will be torn asunder."

A loud voice boomed at them.

Kain hestitaed for a instant but quickly got himself back together. "My name is Kain Kentar, I've come to help Darein get Alex exorcised." He said with a bit of fright.

"I see. The exorcism of this Alex is what you seek? Truly you are the one who can guide him to the road ahead. Will you choose ruin or peace? This decision is left to you, Kain Kentar. For what you choose now will determine the fell's line in the future to come."

The voice said softly.

Kain gulped and thought for a second. He didn't really like the prospect of ruin and didn't like fighting either, after all he was a scientist a heart and not a fighter, so peace seemed natural to him. "I guess I choose peace then." He hoped that this was a good choice.

Darien looked at him for a moment and narrowed his eyes.

"When do I get a say in all this?" He said softly.

"SILENCE! INSOLENT CUB! BE STILL! As for you Kain, I have seen in your heart what you wish to be. You have the blessings of the originator of this clan. You may claim your prize and mark. Protect him and he will protect your heart." The voice said softly before fading off.

Kain looked very, very confused. "Um...thank you. I think." He told the voice as it faded. "THat was weird." He mused as he looked at Darein. "Um, what does that mean?"

"I don't know specifically." Darien said as his ear twitched with confusion.

"He means that you two are compatible in heart and soul. Which means you two like each other. It's a rare thing to see a fell with a human fall for each other. You should be proud. You're breaking barriers." An older gentleman appeared. His eyes looked like Darien's but nothing more matched him. He was a fell of black hair and fur.

"Huh? What? It's not like that. I... uh... wait..." Darien scratched his head. "Are you saying i'm really in... love with... Kain?"

"The spirits don't lie. You two mesh better then anyone you've been with... in the short time you've been around. Whore." The fell said.

"That's mean..." Darien narrowed his eyes angrily.

Kain grimaced when the older male called Darein a whore. But then he noticed that technically Darein was cheating on Alex with him became a little curious. "Um Darein…," He said in a angry voice. "How many people are you with right now, exactly?" He asked him with a bit of displeasure. This was the first time that the thought had crossed his mind that Darein was still with Alex and he began to think about what woud happen when they got the demon out of Alex.

"In other words, he's passed himself out waiting for someone to be his true love." The older fell said.

Kain scowled for a moment and then let out a heavy sigh. "Well Darein, now you do have a title because you’re my boyfreind. By the way, we are going to have a long talk when we get back to the airship." H sighed again and looked at the other fell. "So…who are you anyway, and how do you know this stuff?" Kain asked the mysterious man.

"Now wait on cotton picking minute! You just can't randomly claim people like that! Can he!?" Darien said confused and looked at the older fell.

"He just did. He could make it official and bite your shoulder until you bleed leaving his mark on you. Anyways, my name is Vane. I'm the founder of the Valorus clan. And I know my great times 40 grandson really well. He's a good guy if a little misguided. He's heart is always in the right place and he knows how to make things right. Even if he pushes them a little further then need be." Vane laughed.

"Wait! Why am I being ignored?" Darien whined. "What are we going to talk about?" He said pleadingly at Kain. "This isn't cool. I'm suppose to be in charge."

"That's what love does." Van laughed.
