Topic: Arcanum Citadel

The Arcanum Citadel, located on large a island in the eastrn part of the world, is a enoumess castle made entirely out of obsidian inscribed with runes which is call Orichalium. It is the meeting place of a orgnaziation called The Guild, a group of mages lead by four powerful wizards and sorcerers called the archmages. the purpose of the guild is unknown but it is known to a few people that one of their goals is to ressurect The First Guardain for some reason.

Alex and Darein appeared at the island that was half-way across the world long just in time to see the sun-set over the beach as it became morning at the Aincent Ruins. There waves laped at there feet as the plam trees started to sway becuase the wind picked up. The Orchalium of the Arcanum Citedel reflected the light from the setting sun and shined upon the rest of the island in beutiful colors. "Breathtaking, isn't it." Alex said softly.

Darien looked on amazed by the view. He was in awe of everything. He held on to Alex tight as he looked at everything his eyes could see. Then he looked at Alex and smiled.

"It is... but it's still nothing like you." He smiled as he rested his head on Alex's chest.

Alex blushed at Dareins comment and was about to say something when suddenly a group of men in black cloaks lead by a man in simalar clothes to Alex with a white smileing mask over his face came up to the two. The masked man spoke with a sense of authority. "Sorry to ruin your moment Runemaster, but your needed in the council room."

"Who are they?" Darien asked a bit confused. The men gave him an odd sense of fear and wonderment. He held Alex tighter and wanted to growl at the men.

Alex sighed at Darein's reaction and sheilded Darein from them. "Fine, i'll be with the other three council members in a minute." He told them with a feirce gaze. The man who had poken before whithered under Alex's gaze and juts nodded his head and walked off quickly to avoid any confrontation.

Alex turned bakc to Darein and said. "Those...would be my subordnites."

"I see. So... what next? And I'm not leaving your side. So tell whoever that I'm with you and I'm not going anywhere." Darien said forcefully.

Alex nodded reluctently and started to look worreid. He knew that no one but the four archmages were aloud in the council room but then again, Darein was a descendent of the first guardian so they might make a exception. "All right, i'll see what we can do. First we need to get into the castle though."

Alex nodded and held Darein's hand, leading him through the palm trees onto a beaten path to a gate within the Arcanum Citadel. They slowly the gate and where stopped by two staff weilding guards who blocked the enterance. One of the guards spoke up. "State your name and buisness."

Alex used the same voice he usual cynical, almost playful voice when talking to them. "Oh shut up, you know exactly who I am and why im here." He sneered at them and they quickly lowered there spears to let Alex and darein through. Alex smiled again as he passed by them and said, returning to his sweet, childish voice. "WElcome to the Arcanum citadel." The inside of the castle was filled with rows and rows of books, the library more then 10 times that of Alex's. Schoalars and mages ran through the many hallways and went about there duteis like normal, some stopping to bow to Alex.

The halls of the Citadel made Darien look around like a little boy in an amusement park. As he saw people bowing to Alex, he felt as if Alex were someone incredibly powerful and important to everyone. He felt a bit bad for the way he was being around Alex and began to carry himself a bit different. He kept silent as he followed him and he gave no emotion at all.

Alex smiled as he walk through the halls of the Arcanum Citadel, home of the The Guild. As he walked past people who were working they would show him some of heir research and he was give them advice on their studeis and sometimes even compliment them. Soon a young boy, a 16 year old with messy black hair and a black coat simalar to Alex along with a white T-shirt and some blue jeans, walked up to Darein and said to him. "Um...mind if I aks you qeustion." The boy asked shyly.

Darien was taking aback by this person. Not only did he come up to him specifically to ask him a question, but he didn't even as Alex first. He shrugged and smiled a moment. "Sure. You can ask me some questions. I don't mind at all. But what do they pertain to?" Darien asked cautiously before wanting to be asked anything which might have made him feel uncomfortable.

The boy nodded and smiled a bit, glad that Darein would cooperate. "My names Kain by the way, nice to meet you sir. Well my qeustion has do with this research im doing on this creature I discovered. Do you mind coming to see it for yourself, it would be much easier, it's not that far away." He said shyly. Alex seemed to be a short distence away and it seemed liek eh wasn't going anywhere becuase he was being swarmed with young mages asking him qeustions.

Darien looked at Alex a moment, being swarmed by people. He had said he would not leave Alex's side but he didn't want to make the teen feel bad. Seeing that he knew where Alex would be he nodded and looked at Kain. "Sure. I'll follow you to where the creature is. Just as long I don't spend too much time away from Alex." Darien smiled a bit and then tried to hide the small blush on his face at the mention of Alex's name. "So, lead the way."

Kain grinned and said to Alex. "All right, off we go then." He walked off as darein followed him down a long, mazelike set of hallways which Kain was somehow able to navigate easily. As they came upon long hall they could see that in other parts of the library, three other people with uniforms like Alex's were being treated exactly like him by people. Slowly they came upon a giant door that was so big it seemed impossivble to open. With a snap of his fingers the door dissapeared since it wa sonly a illusion and Kain and Darein where able to step through the doorway. Kain snapped his fingers and the isslusion appeared again. "Here it is." he exclaimed and Darein could see a giant, unconscience demon in front of him.

"What the hell is that!?" Darien said shaking in fear. There was alot of things going through his mind and being there was one of them. He began to whimper a bit.

Kain didn;t seem to share Darein's fear of the demon and said to him. "Eh, don't worry it's magicly binded to the floor. I honestly have no idea what this thing is, I found in Collsia Mar in a expidition and broought it home on a Guild airship. I thought you might be able to help me figure out what it is, you being oine of Arch,mage Alex's aprentices and all." Obvious from his speech, Kain had mistaken Darein's relationship with Alex.

Apprentice? I'm not Alex's apprentice. I'm... well... I don't know what I am to him yet, but we deeply like each other." Darien said blushing again. However, his comment had made him begin to think about his status with Alex.

Kain looked like he ahd just seen a ghost for a moment and then said. "Wait...im sorry, I think I made a big istake." He chuckled nervously and siad. "So if you're not his apprentice...you are a magic user right? Can you still help me figure out what this thing is?"

"I've never used magic directly. I wouldn't know how to help you. I'm sorry. I feel kind of useless. Maybe Alex can help you." Darien laughe back.

Kain looked at him confused. "You've never used magic directly but your able to use it indirectly. Amazing, onl a few people have innate arcane abiliteis." He said and then muttered. 'Maybe I should study you too?" He then looked back at the doorway and said. "Um Darein...I have siomething to say. The reason i asked you instead of Archmage Alex is becuase well...im kind of scared to ask help from the runemaster himself."

"Don't be. He's not that bad of a guy. I'm sure he'd check it out if I asked him for you. Oh and one more thing, let's not study me. I'd rather I remain a mystery then something in some texts with tubes coming out of me." Darien laughed nervously.

Kain shook his head and said. "Okay, if you say so. But seriously, I wouldn't do anythung except study your magical abiliteis and your reactions over a course of several weeks, document them, and send them to the great library to help future genrations. Thats why were part of the guild anyway, to gather knowledge to create a better future." He said, now i hope he's still there." He asked as he started towards the door.

"I don't have that kind of time. And iunno, like I said, I've never used magic directly. I've used them in the form of keys and runes." Darien said as he though about his brief teachings with the runes.

Kain nodded as they stepped through the winding hallways. "Fascinating. So your saying you able to magnify and shape your magic through arcane artifacts to produce various effects. Using magic like that would leave something to be desired in the way of manipulation of the spells but with powerful artifacts the power of the individual arcane incantations could be greatly amplifeid and perhaps even the use of multiple items at once could empower the effects or cuase numerous different or speacil effects.In fact, perhaps it would even be possible to siphion and endow objects or even people with magical ability." He said as he started writing on a notepad furiously. "Intresting, very intresting."

"Uh... sure. I know when I use the key of life, I gain healing powers and angel wings." Darien said as he thought about the keys for a moment. "When I use the Key of death I become a more violent powerful version of myself with darkness power. And when I use the key of time, I get to use Alex's Rune for a while." Darien said as he tried to help the teen.

Kain began to write this down and said. "Aww, so I was right in my assuption that your abilteis are keyed to specific artifacts." He then muttered. "Thsi research paper will defintly impress the higher-ups. Are you sure you don't want to be a test subject?" He asked as they finnaly came to Alex who had just ahd his last qeustioner leave. Alex sighed and walked over to Darein. "Sorry about that, they just won't go away. Who's your freind." he asked, oblivious that Darein had been gone at all.

(I think Kain will be Alex's replacement for when he dies.)

"HI." Darien said a bit happily as he kissed him softly and smiled. "This is Kain. He wants you to look at something in some room a bit far from here. Would you check it out?"

Kain siad nothing, to shy to speak to Alex. Alex nodded and said. "Of course love, i'll be happy too. What exactly will I be looking at?" He asked in wonderment. Kain hid behind Darein so to hide from Alex's gaze. "I..I don't know, sir." Alex started at the boy strangely and said. "Please don't call me sir, Kain." Kain just nodded shyly.

Kain silently lead them to the research room, shying away from Alex. Alex walked on and kissed Darein. "Come on, what could the kid possibly have gotten that would be dangerous?" He chuckled a bit and smiled until he saw the monster and jumped out of Dareins arms. "You...you brought a greater demon HERE! What the hell is wrong with you?!" He shouted, making ain start to wimper and cringe.

Alex Held Darein close, feeling safe in his warm embrace. Kain finnaly got the courage to speak and said. "Yeah, I want to know what it is to." Alex siad in a low tone. "It's..it's one of the Warbringers demonic generals, second in power to only the Warbringers warlords." Alex seemed very scared of the giant monster, all though it was magicly bound.

"Alex. I'm here. We'll protect each other. Remember? Just, what is it exactly that makes these beasts so fearsome, love?" Darien asked as he wanted to know why he was so scared of them now. Not wanting his love interest scared, he pulled him closer and rested his head on his chest.

Alex nodded, not being so afraid now that he knew Darein was protecting him. "Okay..these things are all endowed with great power from the warbringer himself. They all have powers way beyond your current level right now, Darein." he then turned to Kain. "What was the first thing you did when you found him." Kain repleid back to Alex. "Well...I took off those bracers he was wearing. It was about a week ago." Alex stared at him and fainted form fright of what was about to happen.

"ALEX!" Darien held him in his arms and tried to wake him as best he could. His heart was racing fast and tears were starting to form in his eyes. "Wake up! Pleas wake up! Alex... please... I... I love you... wake up! Tell me what's going on!"

(This fight with you all is going to be a dismal disappointment.)

Alex slowly gand his conuiousness back and looked up at the other boy. "A greater demons guatlets teather the souls of the demon to there body, otehrwise the great power in there body would expel there very spirits. When kain let those guatlets go...he let out the soul of the Greater demon, free to posses anyone in the Arcanum Citadel."

Kain backed away from Dareins gaze and said. "Wait, I didn't know that would happen. I had no idea." Alex then commented. "Well, we need to notify te rest of the council quickly."

(Tamotsu is under a genjutsu that makes him unconsceince for a few seconds, reiatsu shot a blast of wind and fire at him, and Shizuka shot a wave of air at him, plus Jaken is was hit by a genjutsu that messes with his senses...well, I think we won.)

Alex pulled Darein even closer and kissed him again. He whispered to his love. "You don't have to worry about me, i'll always be there for you."
